Not Yet a Man, No Longer a Boy. - Kekoa - October 25, 2024

More and more time was being spent at the lake. Kekoa would not speak of why, more often than not he would no longer speak.

He had found himself missing sleep, running from the nightmares that haunted him. Left exhausted he avoided interaction with other's. It was not worth the pain.

Settling down at the water's edge he stared down into the liquid. How deep could it go? How far could he swim? Such thoughts were shook out of his head.

Abraham's words made sense to him now. The water held value, it was sacred. Kekoa swore it could hold visions.

With this thought he visited the lake daily, staring down and waiting. Often something did appear to him; a figment of his imagination, but he felt it should be valued nonetheless.

A brief glance to his back, he looked back to the water to whisper. "Kaisaan?"

He called for the brother who so often appeared to him, haunted him. Kekoa wished for Kaisaan to forgive him. He believed him to be a spirit guide.

It was silent. The water was still, only moving for the wind. Kekoa furrowed a brow - that wasn't fair. If it had shown him what he did not care to know, why not reveal to him what he did?

It was only fair, he thought.
