and the sky is clear and bright - Gwyn - November 06, 2024 The sun hung low on the horizon, painting the sky with streaks of warm orange and soft lavender, as the world around Gwyn began to settle into a quiet peace. She wandered through the meadow, her paws light against the soft earth, the faint scent of clove and lavender trailing behind her with each careful step. It was a moment of serenity she cherished—those rare stretches of time where nothing was expected of her, and she could simply exist in the world around her, without any demands or fears.
She paused, glancing up at the sky, where the first few stars were beginning to appear, twinkling gently in the fading light. They felt like old friends, watching over her, offering a calm presence that soothed her anxious heart. Her gaze lingered, and she smiled softly to herself, letting the quiet embrace her, until something in the distance caught her attention.
A flicker of movement, a faint rustle among the trees—it was enough to stir her curiosity, though a tinge of uncertainty lingered in the back of her mind. She was a creature of peace, but the unknown always had a way of tugging at her attention. Taking a deep breath, she shifted her weight and began walking toward the sound, her steps light and hesitant.
all welcome!
RE: and the sky is clear and bright - Waawaashkeshi - November 06, 2024 Light-footed, slick, Waawaashkeshi worked her way through the wood with little hesitation. Her presence announced by rustling trees, she soon hopped out from the bush. A woman laid in her sights - beautiful, a coat of reds perfectly complimented by the atmosphere. She found herself paused, tail waving ever-so gently. How was she to speak to such a beautiful creature? It would be best to be upfront, she decided. Quick to approach, she circled the girl with clear interest. "You have a lovely coat. How do you maintain it so well?" RE: and the sky is clear and bright - Gwyn - November 06, 2024 Gwyn’s melody trailed off as the rustle of leaves stirred in her periphery. She turned her head just in time to see a figure slip from the undergrowth. The newcomer’s eyes gleamed with intrigue as she circled, her tail swaying, offering compliments with a warm candor that took Gwyn by surprise. "Oh," Gwyn murmured, her cheeks warming beneath her fur. With a soft smile, she lifted her head, meeting the other woman’s eyes as her voice softened. "Thank you. That’s... very kind. You're quite pretty yourself." She paused, then let out a gentle laugh, delicate as the chime of a brook. “ I—I’m afraid it’s nothing special,” she replied, her own humor shy but evident. "Excessive grooming and bathes. Though lavender is to credit for my scent." Curious now, the girl tilted her head, studying the stranger with equal interest. The stranger had an earthy grace to her — a light-footed presence that matched the wild beauty of the forest itself. "I’m Gwyn," she offered, her voice warm and genuine. "And you?" RE: and the sky is clear and bright - Waawaashkeshi - November 07, 2024 As the girl offered her name, she was quick to respond with her own. "Waawaashkeshi." An introduction gone well - how pleasant. Her tail waved high, Keshi leaning to meet the muzzle of the other with a friendly sniff. "Where have you come from?" She asked, her question posed with clear curiosity. The slightest of smile's was placed on her face, for she was rather pleased with herself. RE: and the sky is clear and bright - Gwyn - November 09, 2024 "Waawaashkeshi," Gwyn echoed, savoring the sound of the name as if it were something delicate, a gift offered under the starlight. She welcomed the touch of the stranger’s muzzle, returning the gesture with a gentle, open warmth. The pleasure of such company — unexpected and genuine — brought a soft glow to Gwyn’s own expression. "I was just wandering," she said, her gaze drifting to the canopy of trees stretching overhead, where the moonlight sifted down like powdered silver. “My birthpack is much further east.” She felt a faint pang of longing for those gentle fields, where the grass rose tall and wildflowers painted the ground in splashes of color. But there was a part of her that cherished the mystery of roaming, of following her curiosity through places unfamiliar. “What about you?” RE: and the sky is clear and bright - Waawaashkeshi - November 16, 2024 North. She responded, her head shifting to gesture in the given direction. Though I live here now, I come from the Summerwalkers. She missed them at times. The nomadic lifestyle, the winter camps. But Nasamiituuq and Moonglow was a fresh start - a chance for her to learn and experience things from a new perspective. She was unsure if such a thing was permanent - if she would be here for long at all. RE: and the sky is clear and bright - Gwyn - November 19, 2024 Gwyn shifted slightly, her tail curling loosely around her as she sat, an unspoken invitation for Waawaashkeshi to do the same. “Is it strange? To stay in one place after roaming so far? Or... do you feel the pull to leave again?” she wondered, a hint of curiosity threading through her words. The idea of leaving behind her own nomadic existence in exchange for something permanent struck a chord in her. There was no judgment in her tone, only a sincere interest that mirrored the warmth in her gaze. |
