we were happier then - Averie - November 08, 2024 Averie boomeranged through the Wilds, leaving the flatlands for the north. It was less populated here, and less burdened by the likes of the girl she'd met by the stream. Maybe one day she'd go back and mess with her again - but today, the princess was far from her mind. As she slipped through the frosted expanse, the ground gave way to memories encased in a membrane of frenzy and fear. She'd long learned to restrain herself from lashing out in either - but it was hard to be so controlled when once empty scents now contained the ghosts of wolves she'd long thought dead. Chill, she told herself, even as her heart quickened and hackles rose, nobody's here. Usually, she'd skirt around the Bypass. Today, she had a point to prove. Locating the archway leading into the land, she slipped into a space that had frozen in time. The grass still grew, evergreen despite the coming cold, and the creek still babbled on and on like there were ears here to hear it. It was... idyllic? No,she breathed, gaze crawling to the empty branches where laughter once danced, creepy's what this is.Fear bit through her, but she walked on. Maybe @Goldfinch or @Rowyn ?
RE: we were happier then - Rowyn - November 10, 2024 Rowyn had decided in his short time here. That he would never be weak again. No it was time to be more than that. He had grown large in his time with decent food and decent sleep. Oh the nightmares still plagued him. he still remembered that blood that had dripped from Ash Star like water and the way that man had screamed his triumph. How everyone had fought and cried and screamed. But he could not let it ruin him, could he. So he had dug deep. Deep for the reserves of love his parents had given him. For the inner strength that his mother had carried and he pressed into it. He heard the trotting of paws and he moved silently through the undergrowth. Finally stepping out to stare the girl down. A look of disdain in his masked face. The light of his eyes boring into her. What are you doing here? Your nose broken? Then he stood and waited. RE: we were happier then - Goldfinch - November 10, 2024 Goldfinch was never far behind her boy. She'd decided she liked this new strength of his, though it certainly made protecting him a more difficult task. Sometimes she wondered if he thought himself her protector — like now. There he was, disdain written on his pretty face, talking to — oh, Averie! Oh, her sister! She darted past Rowyn with a joyed little cry, disregarding for a moment the whole world. Nothing mattered but that her sister was home. Goldfinch wondered briefly if @Artio was near, but for now she did not call him. She ran to embrace her sister, to pepper her face with kisses and affectionate nips. |
