"i find new pack, come up into mountains. but stay down, in valley. strong. many," the sentinel added, sharp small teeth gleaming knifelike in the gloam.
sunyellow eyes cut for his. so far they had made one ally, but she ached for the raid.

Hex continued to struggle with the bloodlust of his co-leader. He came to her summons, dark ears canted forward to hear her report. A pack, nearby. Many.
He knew she wanted to raid. Did they have the numbers to do so?
What's your next move with them?he asked the wily woman, head cocked slightly.

head cocked to one side, she pinned her eyes upon hex. "what you think of new sisters who come?" what indeed; she wished to know his mind before her departure.

Hex nodded in agreement. They needed to prepare, whatever course they took.
And then the subject shifted to something altogether.
They're fine,he replied, shrugging.
They've come here for a home. That's what matters.
He couldn't help but think of Anathema's tendency toward the supernatural. Did her sister share the same proclivity? Either way, the more the merrier.
Be safe when you go,Hex told Muskrat, touching his muzzle upon her shoulder. She was his most valued lieutenant, after all.

he did not speak his mind, which bemused his sentinel. "always," the swamp panther purred, running her muzzle against his cheek. "i come back."
and as she turned to scour the paths through the stone down to these saatsine, she held in her hear the promise of her return.
