hammerfall - Ancelin - November 19, 2024

long patrol carried him to the once-meeting spot of ursus.
in summer it would be dappled with deep purple-blue flowers, streaked in sunlight. for now it remained a pretty meadow of winterizing grass, grazed here and there by resident elk.
for a moment ancelin shut his eyes, a king beneath the cold light of his kingdom.
but who ruled here indeed was queen, and he smiled as her face came to his mind, heart swooning as he seemed to walk more lightly upon the earth.

She sank into the cradle of a little gully, shoulderblades tenting beneath her dark fur in two angular peaks. She rolled them, steadying herself, pressing her paws into the earth until it warmed beneath her feet. Like a cat eyeing a bird pecking seeds of the ground she watched as the man's indigo eyes fell shut, and a smile came to his lips.

She smirked.

He began to move and so did she- bolting toward him out of the silence, now shattered by the shredding of earth beneath her claws and pounding feet. She released one growl as she closed the gap between them, tail flagging high above her hindquarters; she would sacrifice a bit of speed so she could afford herself a bit of decorum.

owl-flight!
ameline flew toward her rex in a glimmering of gold and great swiftness. the land seemed to part for her, bending to gilded will.
answering snarl clashed in the cold air; he turned, braced, and closed the small bit of space between them with a leopardic leap.
eyes danced in crazed pleasure — he meant to grasp her between strong forelegs and roll them both into the wintered stems of former bluebell splendor.
