the sundisk of shurima - Ezen - December 03, 2024 A rattlesnake squirmed beneath her outstretched paw, it's tapered body spiralling upon the sun-warmed rocks of the butte. Even in the coldest months, the sun brought life to the desert, but already it crept close to the horizon. Ezen would have to work quickly to avoid the night. With practiced precision, she carefully threaded the serpent's fangs through the leathered skin of a dried mouse. Then, she pressed down firmly on its head, hearing the telltale drip drip of venom as it filled the pouch. With a swift prayer, she dispatched the snake and tossed it aside, it's purpose now fulfilled. A fool's drink. It would make a worthy trade for him, she hoped. RE: the sundisk of shurima - Candle - December 03, 2024 The Candlekeeper watched in fascination. Eagerly she took in every detail of the woman's activities, utterly still and utterly enraptured by all of it. When it seemed that the stranger had finished with the snake, the little dark coyote started forward, yipping softly to announce herself and her intentions. What she wanted was to see more; to learn, if she could. Yet the distinct features that marked the woman as tainted by wolf blood made her wary. Candle hesitated. RE: the sundisk of shurima - Ezen - December 04, 2024 Ezen was well aware of her onlooker as she worked though she did not break her focus. There was so much that could go wrong; the slip of a paw would be all it took to seal her fate. But, she was curious, a slight smile pulling her lips taut until her task was complete. More than anything, she was surprised how much patience this one possessed. Ears swivelling towards their call, the coywolf tilted her head to finally lay eyes on the observer. A coyote as dark as night crept towards her in slow, nervous steps. Ezen sniffed; was she after the snake? No - there was something about the intensity of the woman's focus that said otherwise. Besides, she had plenty of opportunity to take it. "A delicate art, isn't it?" She spoke eventually, leaning back to admire the mouse. What did this desert shadow know of poison? |
