collywobbles - Morokei - December 05, 2024 map attached for reference. lots of tags but open to any of them <3
Scents gathered and clustered like the heads of a hydra raising from the oceanic depths. The scent of @Visala and @Nayavanti caused trembles as if he smelled smoke. The presence of @Kerosene caused the trembles to reach his mind. His brain felt warped and contorted, trying to wrap around everything coming together. Not yet, but building. His teeth chattered for a moment. He told himself it was the chill of the rain, the saltwater, the cold breeze. The trail of @Ruin became a north star, something for him to follow. He pulled himself together and became a slinking shadow along the coastline. RE: collywobbles - Ruin - December 05, 2024 Ruin stood motionless atop the rise, his hulking figure silhouetted against the churning gray of the sea and sky. The rain fell in steady sheets, running down his bedraggled pelt in rivulets. Just silence. And then, something shifted. A scent hit him, faint at first but unmistakable. Ruin’s ears twitched, his single eye narrowing as he squinted through the haze. He sniffed again, the scent growing clearer. It wasn’t Visala, nor Nayavanti. Not Kerosene either. Morokei. RE: collywobbles - Kerosene - December 05, 2024 Brother,They called out fondly, relieved in truth to see another Speaker had joined them on the islands. Took you long enough. Come to see our kingdom of driftwood and dirt? Kerosene drifted closer, moving to nose through Morokei's fur and take in the scents of the wilds and the sea on him. No one else. A comfort. Oh, good. You finally bathed,They murmured to hide the emotion in their indigo eyes. RE: collywobbles - Morokei - December 05, 2024 Kerosene. A bolt of lightning through his core. Every nerve fizzled into electric fires. His posture rigid but not unwelcoming. Unfortunately such had been bestowed upon him since birth. He had not yet spotted the dark storm cloud of another sibling further ahead — Brother,Something between guttural and cooing. He allowed himself to be examined, skin flinching beneath touches like a horse feeling flies. Cleanliness is important to attend a kingdom. He rasped the words before he licked his lips. Is she well? A silhouette up ahead, he yearned for it to near. RE: collywobbles - Ruin - December 05, 2024 Ruin finally spotted them through the rain, the distant shapes of Kerosene and Morokei standing against the jagged, gray backdrop of the coast. For a moment, he stood still, his single eye narrowing to focus on their movements. The sight of them—siblings, bound by blood and faith—sent a strange sensation rolling through him. It wasn’t relief, not exactly. He didn’t linger on it. Ruin wasn’t made for complicated feelings. He stepped forward, his bedraggled form cutting through the storm like a shadow. Rain plastered his fur against his thick body, and water dripped steadily from his scarred face. As he drew closer, their words reached him, faint but clear enough to make him huff. RE: collywobbles - Nayavanti - December 06, 2024 “Curious.” Nayavanti says. Her voice thundering amidst the quiet rainfall. Her footsteps are second in annoucncing her arrival, her dark figure third. Integrating herself into the sibling’s conversaton. Failing to do so without narrowing an eye at atleast one brother. “I haven’t heard of such a meeting taking place so soon. I must say, Listener would be quite pleased on how well you all been getting along.” She shifted a skeptical look to Kerosene. “Albeit quite disappointed, she’s has waited long for your arrivals.” RE: collywobbles - Kerosene - December 10, 2024 Kerosene snorted. Their gaze caught on Ruin then, too — but all they could muster for him was a sour little smile. Oh, how they hated family reunions. The Speaker finished their inquiry of one sibling and moved brusquely to the next, not bothering to seek permission. As well as she can be. I don't see why they couldn't have come - just for a little visit. Kerosene answered Morokei without looking at him. They spoke of their parents, of course — but who could ever know what went on in their heads? They were mad, Kerosene thought, as evidenced by the existence of the newest generation of Druids. Here they were, a broken little gathering of broken little things. See, uncle-dad, aren't you proud? Ahem. Nayavanti's appearance earned a glare and a long sigh. Now Kerosene was truly annoyed. We brought you along for a reason, didn't we? The Speakers are burdened by many duties. The Keeper sees to our Listener's health and happiness.Nayavanti would know this, of course. Kerosene still wouldn't be caught dead missing an opportunity to remind her that she was lucky to be here at all. Chosen by the grace of their Listener's kind heart. The Speaker thought sometimes that the Keeper might require a sharper reminder. RE: collywobbles - Morokei - December 16, 2024 smothered. choked. the presence of three is like a plume of holy smoke. some part of him wants to go to ruin. another part is stilled by the strength of kerosene's souring voice. then he feels a shaking through his core at the presence of the Keeper. why were they all gathered here? who kept eyes over the Listener's place? was she tucked away safely or adrift? was she here with them now? something shifted within him, his gaze. the stance of his body became a touch more rigid. and you left her side to chide us? RE: collywobbles - Ruin - December 17, 2024 Ruin stood like a crumbling monolith, rain cascading down his scarred face, fur plastered to the hulking mass of his frame. Ruin’s good eye shifted toward Nayavanti, his brow furrowing. His hackles prickled beneath the wetness of his coat, though he didn’t move. He didn’t think much about why they were here or who had left Visala behind—Ruin wasn’t made for those kinds of questions—but something about it didn’t sit right with him either. It stirred something primal in him, protective and blunt, because to Ruin, there was no greater purpose than keeping her safe. Ruin didn’t like this gathering. Too many voices. Too many thoughts. "Stop fighting." Came the quick snap of his pearly teeth. RE: collywobbles - Visala - December 17, 2024 Never far from her Keeper, Visala soon joined them. Noise having come from the coast Nayavanti had been sent to investigate, but she had grown curious herself. Familiar scents hitting her and welcome voices reaching her ears, her face lit up. Morokei! Have you arrived?Despite the obvious squabbling, the final arrival was all she seemed to care for. Bounding forward with bounce in her paws, she soon paused to avoid bumping into the other's Her tail waved high, their quartet of littermates completed. No longer would she need to worry; they could begin to work. RE: collywobbles - Nayavanti - December 18, 2024 Fur bristling, Nayavanti was very willing to ignore Ruin's words. "You-" She starts, planning to give Morokei a peice of her mind. An indignant jab at Kerosene too. Perhaps on how far they would fall on that tall hill they stands on. But then Visala appears from behind. Nayavanti physically softens at her presence, she looks wind swept and breathless. And her fluffed tail swishes in the snow at oblivious excitement. Knowing the other disliked their disputes, Nayavanti immediately closes the rest of her sentence directed towards Morokei. She didn't want to break her positive mood. Although Nayavanti never wanted that statement to be true, she answers before anyone can say anything. "Yes Listener, your brother has arrived." |
