sayaiq - Raiyuk - December 10, 2024

Let me know if you're too busy, I can always edit out a tag! Set after this - Dec 15.

As he prepared to depart to Moonsong for the sake of seeking @Kukutux, it was with great surprise that he heard her voice carrying from one of the sleeping-places in the heart of the village.

She, along with her husband @Aiolos, appeared to be talking with one of the other remaining people of the village; thankfully, their conversation was at an end. Raiyuk watched them for a moment longer, then made an intercepting course.

Moonwoman, he greeted, wishing to smile to them both but finding his proprioception failing. I was about to journey to see you. His throat felt constricted as he said this, and so he said little else. Had someone already spoken of the losses in Moontide?

He looked between them, wondering. Feeling very much like a child lost at sea.

cameo!

Aiolos breathed easy. Moontide was far more quiet then it had been the last he had visited, yet the salt in the air and the sound of crashing waves eased him still.

It was almost like the ocean fueled him and when he left it, as time passed, he would feel his energy slowly fading. Hardships only continued to hit harder. He needed this. He needed his goddess

Taking in a deep breath of the cool air off the coast, his grayed ears perked at the arrival of Raiyuk just near, calling out to Moonwoman. Aiolos, laying off to the side, woofs quietly to the young man.

sun here glittered coldly, in a sweep of loveliness that brought many memories to kukutux. aiolos too, seemed to have thrown off his grief. the saltwater suited him, she decided, her eyes glowing with love as she rested her gaze upon the man she had long loved.

raiyuk came then, and kukutux turned her warmth upon him. but she saw in the lines of his tall figure that all was not well. "it is good to see your face, seal hunter man. what has happened?"

why? why? but she kept on her features only a vague worry, inviting him to speak.

RE: sayaiq - Raiyuk - December 12, 2024

What could he say?

Aiolos looked content in his ignorance of the moment. Kukutux held the look of a person waiting for the worst of news, having already had many bad moments like this, over and over; most recently to Raiyuk's mind was the passing of one of her daughters.

How could he speak of his losses now?

My father has left the village, he found himself answering, which itself was not a lie but it was also not the whole truth. Marina has gone with him, I think. I am the man of the lodge now. His throat tightened.

I wondered if you would know - if there was a way to bless the lodge, or... Or pass it along.

left?

chakliux would not have left; kukutux did not believe it, and searched the young seal hunter's face for those marks of lying or agony.

she found the latter, she felt, and was quiet.

"spill seal blood across its entrance. open one side to the wind for six days. this is the way of your father's people, and your own, raiyuk. take all that is inside and give it up to the wind and to the sea."

her arm went gently around his shoulder, not lingering; a touch to say that what was understood did not need to be uttered aloud.
