run for the hills - Towhee Jr - January 01, 2025 for timeline reference this is time-stamped for tomorrow, january 2nd.
while towhee's morning had started out normal, as the day inched ever onward, it began to feel very unnormal. wrong! towhee would even consider. did consider whatever sudden shift happened within her as wrong. she feels strange inside her own body! it reverts her to a familiar feeling of hostility that makes its home within her chest and general irritability. she snaps at ghost who tries to settle on his favored perch betwixt her shoulders. guilt blooms in her chest a moment later as she watches the falcon, clearly insulted, take to the skies. but her guilt is swallowed by another bought of unprovoked annoyance and she lets out a loud huff; marching off like a scowling storm in the opposite direction of her avian companion. RE: run for the hills - Ameline - January 01, 2025 Ameline can feel spring awakening within herself, but before the buds could bloom they must first fight for sunlight, struggle and push their way through the soil from seed. The shifting hormonal changes left her feeling simultaneously avoidant and needy for contact. She loathed the thought of gentle caresses and craved instead conflict. Her energy was stoked- so she hunted through the packlands, purposefully avoiding all men. When she caught sight of Towhee she altered her course so she could approach from the woman’s shoulder, not from behind her. On the brisk air she uttered an inviting growl- an ululating call that would be mirrored in tone with the fluffing of her hackles, and high wave of her tail. Once she caught the woman’s gaze, she would drop into a playbow. RE: run for the hills - Cole - January 01, 2025 cameo
Cole remained hidden, the dense underbrush cloaking his broad form as he observed the interaction between Towhee Jr. and Ameline. The sharp scent of Towhee’s season was unmistakable, stirring a faint tension in the air that even he could not ignore. His amber eyes narrowed slightly, calculating. Her condition was sure to draw the attention of aggressive males to the valley's borders. It was a vulnerability they could ill afford, with recent tensions already brewing. He shifted slightly, silent and deliberate, ensuring his scent wouldn’t carry toward them. For now, he would watch, taking mental note to increase his patrols and reinforce their lines. The time for action would come, but for now, he would remain the unseen sentinel. RE: run for the hills - Towhee Jr - January 01, 2025 something thrums in her veins, something that spurs the annoyance that ghost was unfortunately the receptionist of. but she does not know what. does not know what is happening. though hostility isn't anything that was out of character for towhee, it also wasn't ever aimed at ghost — who was, in an of himself, basically an symbiotic extension of herself. it thrums like a second heartbeat beneath her chest; furious and hungry. someone approaches, and towhee's shoulders tense for a moment before she realizes it is ameline. she relaxes slightly, but nothing ebbs. for a wild moment, she considers warning ameline that she is ill. that something had sunk into her body and is plaguing her. enhancing, arguably, the worst of towhee's personality traits. but ameline sinks into a playbow. and the thrill of the ( play ) fight ignites like a fire within her veins. unaware of their watcher, towhee grins ferociously and feigns left before veering right, her intent — if it hit — to snap playfully at ameline's cheek. RE: run for the hills - Ameline - January 17, 2025 The change in the young woman’s expression was immediate; solemnity relinquished its hold and excitement flashed across Towhee Jr’s face, to mirror the devious grin that belonged to the Regina. Two strides apiece was all it took for them to draw together, and smiling teeth became unsheathed daggers that flashed and crackled like thunder and lightning. Like dancers with nimble feet they moved, Ameline surrendering an ounce of space only to find that the gap between them closer more quickly then she expected with Towhee Jr’s diversion; but the Regina was an excellent sport- when she wanted to be- and embraced the trick with a note of fascination that pealed from her lips in a trickle of laughter. She rose up on her hind feet, extending her forelimbs before her so she might ensnare her opponent now that she was within arm’s reach, tucking her chin to her chest as she swung her hips about, and aimed to haul Towhee Jr to the ground with her. |
