clawfeather - Eivor - January 04, 2025 very interesting.
her companion had gone and he had come back — not alone. eivor had understood. her jokes had still come, her hunting still skilled — she kept out of his sleeping space, was the only change. she knew the way to the great bear, often ranging ahead of their band. and when the spine rose its teeth above the green-trees carpeted with white, eivor fell back to flank @Akavir and the woman beside him. "there it is. i will let you speak," she said, hiding well and still any emotion she felt behind a brazen grin. RE: clawfeather - Akavir - January 17, 2025 Prior to this, Akavir’s drive had purely been based upon gaining intel on the potential dangers that lingered near or within the Rising Sun Valley, collecting Mae, seeking news from the Moon wolves regarding the attack… and then getting the hell home. Now, with Silvertongue among them, he was even more hurried—and perhaps more introspective. Eivor remained unphased, it seemed—her powerfully beautiful form leading them to the heights of Moonglow’s home, and when she swept past him to remain sedentary in the back, he found himself craving her touch as he had the other night. To drown within her—to forget all else. The grey of her gaze met his, and he spoke nothing—his champagne eyes then falling upon the gilded silver of the woman he had loved in her past life—in his current life—the familiar throb of a headache pulling at his temples. His call for the Moonglow wolves was swift in its delivery—and in turn, he pulled the kill he had ensured prior to their arrival, unwilling to arrive to the wolves who had welcomed his daughter into their home to heal empty handed. The goat was nestled before him—and his eyes carefully gauged Silvertongue with a flicker of concern before focusing upon any sign of movement before them. RE: clawfeather - Silvertongue - January 18, 2025 she did not know the places through which they had traveled; she did not know the one before which they now stood. at first silvertongue had remained standoffish, shy in the presence of the unknown woman. but with no visual connection beheld between eivor and akavir, slowly she warmed. it was he who commanded most of her fleeting glances, as if by silent witness she might recapture what had once been between them. and there was fear also, to leave akashingo behind, to abandon the only images she could fix in her mind. cold, tired, silvertongue waited beside akavir, flicking her gaze upward only at the tread of another.
RE: clawfeather - Kukutux - January 18, 2025 almost were the wolves of moonglow prepared for the wedding to come. her village was again a churn of activity, and from these groupings did kukutux detach herself to answer the call of akavir.
he had come for his daughter whose tracks led from moonglow toward another place, and while kukutux did not disallow a journey back, she was rather displeased with the girl's lack of gratitude or willingness to listen. "akavir. it is good to see your face," kukutux murmured, her eyes taking in first the tall woman standing off, and then the moongilt figure with a missing leg. "please. come to my ulaq" she invited, nodding with pleasantry at the offering of meat. "soon my daughter callyope will marry a man of the north, solharr. he has built a village called forneskja with her, and for her. it will be a uniting of two peoples in one name." her eyes were warm upon him. "mae has chosen to go away. i have the thought that she is close, but you see she did not have the wish to remain here for waiting." RE: clawfeather - Akavir - February 01, 2025 He remained on autopilot for now—unable to process most of what had occurred within only the past few days. Often, his gaze pulled to Silvertongue—partially in disbelief that she was here, once more—in denial that in truth, it was not the Silvertongue he knew. When the white she-wolf came to view, Akavir’s shoulder would brush to Silvertongue with reassurance—but they were met with a genuine greeting as Moonglow’s Alpha shared with them their happy news and extended an invitation. Silently, his offer of the meat was given—nodding in acceptance to Kukutux’s invitation—uncertain what an ulaq was, but eager for the stolen moment where he did not need to try to untangle any of his thoughts or recent discoveries. “Congratulations to both you and your daughter—and family, of course. My apologies of arriving at such a busy time—hopefully we won’t keep you long. Please, let me introduce you to my travel companions—Eivor, from Kvarsheim, and… Silvertongue.” A gentle pause—refraining from looking to either woman near him. What would it be like to make preparations of a celebration, rather than be in a consistent state of dealing with the constant churn of danger and drama that befell their own doorsteps? He had never had the chance to watch his children find or grow into such happiness. Envy was an ugly thing—but perhaps it was motivating, all the more. When Kukutux confirmed his daughter was no longer here, he could not help the grit of his teeth or the fall of his features—now he would need to search for her. He resisted to rub the bridge of his nose in his frustration and fatigue—“I don’t suppose she was a guest of endearing politeness and gratitude?” He loosed a breath. He didn’t even need an answer to that question to just know. “I’m sorry, Kukutux. Has she healed well, otherwise? Please—let the Creek repay you, somehow. I haven’t had a chance to investigate much further on what happened except for Cygnet’s account—but we truly appreciate Moonglow’s support and graciousness throughout this whole matter.” RE: clawfeather - Silvertongue - February 03, 2025 pping silver from here on out <3
they had come all this way and his daughter was not here. this wearied silvertongue, who could not remember motherhood except in splintered pieces of pain. the green had stolen all, and she bowed her head at such a lack of empathy inside herself. hungry, thirsty, in pain from long travel, she wished only to rest and wish for charitability another time. when she looked sideways, the woman who had escorted them was grinning, clearly pleased at something this moon wolf had said. food was bestowed and she tried not to be so ravenous, silent as her eyes flicked to akavir's tense shoulder, beyond to the darkened profile of his handsome face.
RE: clawfeather - Kukutux - February 03, 2025 akavir was frustrated. kukutux plied him with a second serving of elk fat and pulled over her haunches once more a finished deerhide. the cold had risen sharp this year, scorching the duck with pain and a dull throb in every joint. only warmth soothed the thudding anguish, and spring would reveal new green shoots for which she might use medicine.
"a child cannot be happy while her father is gone," kukutux said gently, not wishing akavir's ire to be raised against the girl. "i will tell you the last i have seen." repayment; the duck upheld a small hard paw as if to dissuade further speech on the matter, but her eyes were soft with a mischievous smile. "moonglow makes good use of kinship ties. but if a marriage cannot be had," kukutux teased, "then perhaps you will allow us to camp close for summer hunting." her eyes moved to the woman, to the tall warrior and the tired moonbelt. "rest first, here at my hearth if you wish," and indicated a pile of soft hides. "there are more ulax only some steps away." but if akavir wished it, she would rise, leading him to the tracks she felt belonged to the one he sought, allowing the two she-wolves to make themselves comfortable in the absence of leadership. RE: clawfeather - Akavir - February 09, 2025 Kukutux moved to placate him with more food—something that would have drawn the man’s amusement in any other time, but his worry for his daughter spurned him for now, and the elk fat was taken with gratitude, and yet deposited toward the slim figure of Silvertongue—for she would need the sustenance more for the journey before them. He stole a glance toward her—met with the lustre of gemstone blue as she also looked to him. Moonwoman was sly in her manner of marriage—pulling him from leaning further into the orbit of his rediscovery of Silvertongue. Amusement did now flash briefly in his gaze as he turned back to the ivory woman—the quirk of his own lips daring to lift just slightly so in return. “We would be honored to host a visit for you and yours. Perhaps our younger ones can meet.” A pause, then—wondering if they would indeed visit. Surely, she must have saw how rough around the edges the Creek wolves were. When she offered rest, he knew he could not. His gaze softened, looking between either of his traveling companions. “I should look for Mae,” he noted to them—and then a lingering glance to Silvertongue. “Will you be fine to rest here?” RE: clawfeather - Kukutux - February 11, 2025 kukutux nodded, but did not speak. averting her eyes from where the silver woman looked into the eyes of akavir, she smiled at the traveling companion, offering her too another bit of fat.
silvertongue nodded, tasting what the dark man had given her, suddenly shy. i will be all right. summer meeting granted; she thought of the future and warm honeypools of golden sunlight. "i would like this. perhaps there will be little ones to guide also," new generations mingling in a place she had not yet seen. she was filled with anticipation for the journey, even as her body ached and thrummed this winter. kukutux offered a pelt to silvertongue. tall woman said she would go the guard the edges of the 'settlement,' as was her word. moonwoman and creek man would reconvene when more time had passed. |
