A kindling of a swordless bloodshed - Damsel - January 12, 2025

Tag is for ref, all are welcome!

She wanders from the meadow, a curiosity of her new lands fueling her light-footed step. Her tail is high and prideful, her ears perked and nose ever-twitching as she takes in the surrounding scents.

There is a lake ahead, Damsel bounding until she reaches it. It has begun to freeze, but it is not yet solid enough to walk on - it's too bad, she had always enjoyed the slippery surface within the safety of her previous home's pond.

For now she lays to her side with an abrupt 'flop'. The snow is cool against her fur, and she takes in the pleasant sensation with a smile. She knows that later she will regret it, that she will come home to @Barley with damp fur and frozen ends. He'll just have to deal.

RE: A kindling of a swordless bloodshed - Barley - January 14, 2025

barley arrives to his flopped over wife with the stride of a proud lion. sauntering, looking upon her as if she were a meal, though something within his eyes shone of a deeper affection, of years' worth of care, admiration. looked at her like a starving man with a gourmet dish. five stars, he'd rate this one. smirk upon his face.

no coming home to him if he was there to flop down alongside her.

comfortable, hun? came a gruff chuckle.

She gives a nod, agreeing. The snow is good against my back. With a thin coat she may be cold later, but what were husbands for if not to absorb their body heat?

Rolling to face him with legs tangling, she releases a sigh. It was a bad time for all this to happen, wasn't it? A rhetorical question. Damsel would never wish their sudden abandonment onto them, but if had been bound to happen she had only wished that fate would have waited until the spring.

She supposed that her and Barley were the good that came out of it. It had been a bit awkward for them at the kennel, Damsel's litters sired by Chamberlain. For what purpose, she did not completely understand - but she had known two things; it was to keep the pups purebred, and that though she had put in the work carrying the things and pushing them out, the majority would disappear after six months. How strange!
