the wedding celebrations had left the yearling yearning for the quiet of solitude. she slipped past the borders of the forest to the deep snowfall of a neighboring territory.
it was there she found the beauty of snow laden fields. hills rolling with waves of pure white, tracks dotted amongst them as creatures crossed the meadow.
flurries decended upon her causing a burst of joy and girlish giggles as she pranced through the open land. velia felt as if she were a child again, sticking her tongue from her mouth and waiting to catch the snowflakes upon it as they fell around her.

snowfall glistened against the terrain. a woman of the wilds, she had the pelt for such conditions, but it didn't mean she had to like them! with the snow came the shadows of death, the imprisonment of flowers and fauna alike, and left the world...empty.a soft sigh, a plume of hot air around her jaws. she emerged from the wilderness, paws numb from the snow lodged against sensitive skin.
and then a pelage of creams— one that reminded her of her sister! overjoyed for the moment, she reared the girl with a soft sway of her tail— until her scent flustered her. this was not her sister, fool, but just a young girl seeking to devour the snowflakes as they came skyward.
periane watched; songbird curious of how whimsical the girl was. how whimsical she used to be. but the thought came as quickly as it left— in a flash. instead, she let her tail swipe at the snow and a low hum came from her throat.
