with all your lies, - Rala - January 20, 2025 @Yura <3
snowwoman drew herself further from the valley today. the wapun herd would need to be fostered, should they hope to produce enough offspring the coming springtime to keep themselves from fizzling out, and so nanuralaaq sought further hunting. ears perked from her pale head, light paws carrying her towards the woods where a lone doe was sure to be grazing. a fine challenge for the woman - trees were not unknown to her, yet they certainly were not her norm, having been raised within the arctic plains. but as the polar cub approached the treeline, a similar scent drifted towards her upon the winds ; the dancing one. a smile grew upon her face as nanuralaaq trotted towards it. another hunt to be shared! today was now ensured to be a good one ; she knew it. RE: with all your lies, - Yura - January 20, 2025 A moment of downtime saw the star watcher skirt the foot of the sunspires on the trail of a small herd. They had crossed the windswept plains into the dense underbrush of herbalist's cache and then further still into the bareleaf aspen groves that Yuralria stalked through now. She paused, nose twitching as she observing a patch of nibbled bark where a deer had made a meagre meal of lichen. They were not far away now, judging by the scent that flowed easily on the breeze. Yuralria readied herself to resume the chase until the sound of pawsteps nearby had her spinning to face whoever it was with instinctual guard. Only to be greeted with Nanuralaaq's beaming face. "Nanuralaaq!" she chuffed with a wave of her tail, momentarily forgetting the deer at hand. "It is good to see you again." RE: with all your lies, - Rala - January 20, 2025 and so it was! the dancing one, here! after what had felt like moons, though she knew to be mere weeks. cheeks seemed to resemble full moons, with the way nanuralaaq grinned at the girl! and she was tracking her own deer, too. how far she had come ; it stirred a pride within the snow-borne woman. dancing one!came her joy. it is good to see you, as well, yuralria,a polite nod of her head, though not lacking a friendliness, a warmth. reserved for the young girl! of an older sister to that of one younger! she looked, then, to the chewed upon bark, and her eyes flashed once more towards the girl. do you wish to hunt once more, dancing one?and this time, there was a challenge behind her tone ; though working together, she knew the girls sharp fangs could easily fell but a simple deer, if she had already hunted such fierce caribou! 200 !! <3
RE: with all your lies, - Yura - January 20, 2025 well done! :D <33
Yuralria mirrored her friend's excitement with a round-cheeked grin of her own. Some time had passed since their last encounter, but not enough for her to forget the polar bear woman's help in felling the caribou. Not many chose to guide others out of the goodness of their own heart and expect nothing in return. Perhaps what Rala had sought to gain was nothing tangible, but rather a familiar feeling to that of completing a hunt. Pride. And here presented them both with the opportunity to work together again. "Yes! There is a herd nearby. They will be tired from their journey to these woods." Yuralria practically glowed as she explained the situation, motioning with her muzzle upwind. Rala's challenge did not go unnoticed as the stargirl held her again in her gaze with a similar fire. "Would you join me, polar bear woman?" RE: with all your lies, - Rala - January 26, 2025 so sorry for the wait !! ;; & thank you <3
the dancing one was a smart girl, to know that in which she explained, as she knew well that the herd would be tired from their travels! though older, wiser, nanuralaaq kept her mouth shut, listening with wide, pale eyes and ears that would flick every so often. her tail, too, gave a wave that spoke of a quiet praise. of course, i will join you. polar bear woman, she was called, and so it felt like much mightier a name than mere polar bear cub. nanookarnaq, she may have been called, and for a moment she felt though this hunt may be blessed by this girl who radiated light. i trust you to lead the way, my girl. show me what you have learnt while i have been away, and though there is a smile upon her face as she speaks, there is something deeper ; a test, of sorts. a trust. a sense of knowing, for this girl holds more knowledge than she realises. nanuralaaq can see it ; dancing within her, as is her namesake. go forth, dancing one. i will be your shadow. RE: with all your lies, - Yura - January 28, 2025 all good!
In all honesty, Yuralria had only guessed the herd would be tired because she felt it in her paws too. The trek from the moraine to the edge of the valley was not an easy one - especially with fresh snowcover. Still, her tail stirred in a similar fashion as the woman agreed to join. She set off right away, resuming the chase eastwards as her paws followed the trail already carved by the deer. "I've met more hunters," small talk peppered their journey as the stargirl paused only to taste the air. "A scary woman, and a girl." Both had taught her a great many things, but Nanuralaaq brought comfort and guidance akin to that only a sunshine woman could. "Where have you been?" For her scent had faded from the taiga and she was curious to know why. RE: with all your lies, - Sobeille - January 28, 2025 :o a cameo unless caught <333 please skip me and lmk if ud prefer me butt out!
moved to seek out yura as the day yawned onwards, sobeille’s steps slowed as yura’s tracks converged with another. taking to stealth, sobeille watched from a fallen bough, hunkered down in the tight space where bark met damp earth. they spoke a tongue sobeille did not know, but it was clear to her they knew one another. she watched them both, ears straining to capture words she did not know. not until a wisp of winter air came her way carrying bearclaw’s plume with it did sobeille’s expression darken to one of possessive animosity. as yura and her companion traipsed eastward, sobeille’s shadow darted after, blotting the snow as she stuck to cover. RE: with all your lies, - Rala - January 31, 2025 scary woman and girl, you say? they are hunters, what are their names?curious, for perhaps she had met these so-called hunters, and whether they yuralria was safe with them or not was of high concern within the snowwomans mind. and when the dancing one asked where she had been, nanuralaaq gave slight waves of her plush tail, allowing the scent of the valley to spill between them. i have found place as hunter in 'bearclaw valley'. it is dominated by a chieftess and chieftain, ameline and ancelin, and so curiously, she said: it is good place, if you ever wish to visit, dancing one. many women, much food. a respite, should you need it. but now deer scent grew stronger, and their fawn hues came into view. nanuralaaq was not yet aware of the girl who stalked nearby. i follow you, dancing one. RE: with all your lies, - Yura - February 17, 2025 "Sivaak - she is an ice woman. A strong hunter. And Sobeille is too, but closer to my age." Explanations were exchanged as Yura learned in turn of Bearclaw Valley, Rala's current homestay. "If I find the time, I'll visit." A warm smile, a promise, for her friend's presence was a welcome break from Sivaak's hard training. Nodding, she led the way further into the trees, nose twitching to ensure they were downwind. "Up for a chase?" Turning to her companion, a shadow in the forest's undercarriage went unnoticed in her excitement to display what she had learned. Yura would have the honour of breaking cover first. The girl burst forth from the trees, kicking up snow in her wake as she bore down on the herd. They would be swift to flee, but sluggish enough that her legs would make quick work of the distance. |
