èzili dantò - Lafayette - March 05, 2025

set feb 8 after raid - real quick, can be read-only or one-response

the shell-shocked lafayette had taken a day or two to regroup. at twilight on the third day, he emerged breathing fire.

he called for @Shadess (and @Tousaint, too, though to his consternation, he'd found his brother's scent fleeing rather than fighting). once they were assembled, he turned to them, eyes full of angry tears.

we have to do somet'ing, lafayette declared, muzzle wrinkled in a snarl. we have to get our family back.

he knew the numbers were against them, but he'd had time to think it over—to decide what to do next. we met our allies at de gatherin', before winter came, he went on. wolves dat could help us. i will go. i know de way dere.

myriad questions rippled through his mind. what if no one else wanted to help? what if the pirates' numbers were too strong? what if—

lafayette swallowed, not even wanting to consider the worst of possibilities.

no, he must remain strong. the women of sapphique had been brave beyond measure, and now, it was his turn. their turn.

i'm goin' now, he gravely concluded.

RE: èzili dantò - Shadess - March 05, 2025

Her brother called. Shadess came. Only the four of them remained and the little group of struggling to figure out what their next move would be.

I know dat. Her words were a snap as Lafayette spoke of getting their family back. Only then for her ears to sweep back, sorrowful if only a little. Tensions were high. Three strong women. Three strong women holding the future of Sapphique in their wombs.

De Moon wolves? Her ears perked once more. I go. She then decides quickly. The Moon wolves were of great number. Of multiple packs and allies. She did not know how much they too had dwindled.

Let the elderly and the cowards stay behind.
