that profane feeling which first made itself known as he dressed kemal’s wounds persisted, lingering and corrupting soto’s thoughts.
he knows himself well enough to know what comes next. raw and irascible, soto leaves verapaz out of an abundance of caution and ranges north.
in easier times, juarez would tell him he just needs a body to bury his dick in — a woman to slap around until he felt big. but juarez is dead and soto’s near-masochistic discipline wavers.
without his brother here to keep him from defecting, soto is truly lost.
