I have you strung, - Cinar - April 14, 2025

Loneliness was not a state familiar to Cinar, and yet on his long trek from the homeland it had consumed him almost entirely. There was no more servants, no more followers, no more wives, nobody. For how much the hatred in his heart boiled at the thought of his father, he was glad that he had not been spoiled to the extent that he lacked the skills of survival; babasi was of the mindset that a man who could not hunt down a screaming elk or take the eye of an intruder was barely a man at all. Cinar wondered if he knew the kind of man he was now.

Powerful, dominating, ideal.

And yet with such qualities, he had nothing to show for it. Scanning over the glen, he spotted a lone buck, antlered and proud. Cinar was quick to decide that he wanted them; the antlers. Standing stiff for a moment, he soon began his careful stalk of the ungulate before sprinting when he was in closing distance. But to his surprise the buck did not run, instead turning and slamming a hoof to Cinar's right shoulder. He was quick to let out a cry, the buck taking it's leave when his attack did not persist.

He spat a growl at the ground, eyes fixing into a glare. That would hurt for a while, in terms of both his body and his pride.

RE: I have you strung, - Anoana - April 14, 2025

Anoana had found home in the new wilds she had come to. It did not take her long. She had lost everything not to long ago and had nothing but to roam, to wander. Yet the weavers of fate had provided. They had guide her path directly to those which shared her customs, knew her beliefs. She did not know of all, yet had found some ounce of familiar comfort in @Solharr. She did not know how long her feet would follow, yet she was content where she was now, as it were.

Still, these wilds were all so very new to her. She wished to know them well as she once had her home before now long gone. If she were to pick up the pieces and continue her work now within her new community, she would need to know where to locate items.

Anoana strode to the openness of the glen, leaving the rocky hole in the earth which she now called home. It was quite different indeed then what she was used to. Though painful memories haunted her. She did not think she could return to the forests anytime soon.

In the glen was new blooms. Spring coming to full life in the open plains under the cloudless sky. A young, heavy buck grazed. She saw a dark wolf charge, only to be kicked down and thwarted by the forest prince. If he were lucky the smack would only leave a horrible bruising for a time. Today was not yet his time. That deer had many more years ahead of him, she felt. Would you like me to take a look at that? She didn't know him, but Anoana was a giving woman. She believed things tended to come in full circle. One day she might require his own aid.

RE: I have you strung, - Cinar - April 14, 2025

To his embarassment, Cinar found that another had witnessed his stumble with the buck. He was careful to soften his gaze, particularly in light of her generous offer. If you wouldn't mind, He accepted with a careful smile, pushing to all fours to approach her. The leg certainly wasn't broken, but there was a limp to it now. He had learned his lesson; don't bite a buck in the spring.

Curious, he wondered to himself if she had come from one of the surrounding packs he had scented. There were a few in this area, he could tell, enough to keep him on his toes. Where have you come from, my friend? He decided to voice his question, sitting a respectable distance away to allow her to close the distance. You've been sent as a blessing, surely. A soft laugh, polite and almost feminine, rumbled from his throat. He wished to speak his gratitude in earnest; Cinar was no medic, he would have tried to simply walk it off without thinking twice.

RE: I have you strung, - Anoana - April 19, 2025

The young man strode toward her with ease. A limp to his walk from the kick, but still walking on the leg none the less and he was able to do so without wincing or crying out in pain. He would be quite fine, she was sure.

Oh, I'm not sure about all that. She says with a lightened laughter. I've only just arrived to these lands a short time ago. She answered the young wolf as she approached, closing the remaining distance between them. I've joined a group where we have recently made settlement in a quarry on the other side of the mountains, just there- She speaks as she juts her muzzle to the low mountains of Moonglow. Easily seen here in the openness of the glen. While she drew his attention away, she would lift a white paw to press it on the injured shoulder. Oh- it would hurt, but she wanted to gage his pain level after all!

RE: I have you strung, - Cinar - April 19, 2025

He listened with a carefully kept smile as the woman spoke, not noticing as a paw was lifted until it pressed his shoulder.

A yelp turned snarl, he was quick to correct himself before his head could whip to bare teeth. ..Apologies. He appeared coy as he spoke, truthfully embarassed by his reaction. Turning his focus to a response, he straightened his posture once more. I've only arrived recently myself. I needed a change of scenery. He looked once more towards the lands she spoke of. Should he choose to travel northwest, he would have to take a look.

Speak of travel and thoughts of his father made Cinar wonder where his family may be, how his children were growing. He was quick to push it from his mind, brightening his smile once more for the woman treating his wounds. Could I ask your name?

RE: I have you strung, - Anoana - April 19, 2025

Anoana's nose crinkled as he jumped and snarled, trying to hold back a laughter though it shown in her clear eyes. No matter. She assured him. She had dealt with much harsher brutes before.

After settling down her paw, The shoulder bone feels smooth and from what I can tell, you would have cried out or taken my head, had it been splintered. Even the slightest of fracture could do a damage that would only continue to grow if not treated properly.

A change of scenery... She understood and tried to fight the frown from her features. She hadn't much of a choice, really. Hopefully his travel was pushed by far better circumstance.

I have the name Anoana. She dips her head in polite gesture, her snowy ears falling back as she does so. And you, wanderer? His accent certainly suggested a man from lands far, far from what she had ever known.

RE: I have you strung, - Cinar - April 25, 2025

Cinar. He returned, carefully bending his injured arm once more before placing it upon the ground.

My arm will be alright, then? He had to hope so. He felt that he had to keep moving; an injury was something that he could not allow to hinder him. I wouldn't want to make it worse.

He would have to deal with it sooner or later surely, but if he could put it off with little risk, that would be far better.

RE: I have you strung, - Anoana - April 25, 2025

I would not push too hard this day traveling, Cinar. If he attempted a hunt once more today he would wake up far more sore then if he took it easy with a slow pace.

A simple poppy will help with the pain and any swelling. Her pale gaze turned from him and out around the glen they stood in. We have the luxury of a vast meadow here. Come, search with me. She would begin to walk, hoping her may join her. It was good to be back 'on the job' again.

RE: I have you strung, - Cinar - April 27, 2025

Given she was far more of a herbalist than he every would be, Cinar obliged.

You seem quite knowledgeable. He purred, a smile crossing his face once more. I have to assume that you are quite valued in your pack. Her packmates would be idiots to overlook it. The hunters and mercenaries were nothing without someone to tend to their wounds.

Glancing over the plethera of flowers growing with the spring season, he had to wonder how one wolf could pick out a single set of petals and assign it a use. He had always found the idea rather overwhelming.

RE: I have you strung, - Anoana - April 29, 2025

Sweet you are. She said to the younger man with a small smile on her lips. I once was, Pride welling in her chest, Though I must build myself up once more, here. Her time once as völva coming to an ending. She would find a place here among these people doing the same trade if she could.

We look for a scarlet round flower with black in its center. She directed as they moved. But enough about her, Where might your travels take you after this, Cinar?

RE: I have you strung, - Cinar - May 02, 2025

Cinar was always sweet. He was raised, trained to be.

Upon the description of the flower, he looked over the field for any red flowers that caught his eye.

Oh, you know, He chuckled, nowhere in particular. Where was he supposed to go anyways? There's nowhere I can return to, so I choose to wander instead. But with nowhere to return to, was the wandering really by choice?

RE: I have you strung, - Anoana - May 07, 2025

Anoana nods quietly. She is completely understanding of having no home left to go back to and does not wish to pry further. After all, it was quite a sore subject for Anoana and could think that it may be the same for him. As it were, their pasts were far from anything alike.

Ah, Her white feathery ears perk high. þarna erum við...! Happiness of her success momentarily causing her to revert back to her native (and more so used) tongue. Up until she had been made to travel, the need to speak to outsiders with common wasn't all that necessary.

Trotting off from Cinar's side, she makes it to a little cluster of red poppy nestles along the brush.

RE: I have you strung, - Cinar - May 17, 2025

For a moment Cinar only watches as she trots away, looking to see what it is she has found.

You found them? He asks, beginning to trail behind her. The flowers are certainly red, so unless one of them has made a mistake he can only assume.

RE: I have you strung, - Anoana - May 21, 2025

Yes, these are it. A further nod of her head is given as she confirms. It is these seeds in the bulbs which you will eat. The woman moves over to the little cluster of red flower and between those which had yet to bloom were bulbs. Taking one of the bulbs by the stem, she would then lay it on the ground and use her paw to mash on and break open the bulb. Eater but a few seeds. Too much can be dangerous, as with anything really. A small smile, Take a stalk for your journey too. She might suggest as she plucked a few for herself to take back home with her.
