Pretense against Pretext - Arric - April 17, 2025 @Kukutux @Solharr @Cygnet @Lafayette @Shadess Aiolos, Arrluk, Rodyn, @Kukuvrak (Not sure if you had him overhearing and helping or not?)
Group one getting babies is Lafayette, Shadess, Aiolos, Rodyn. Group two keeping an eye on the surrounding area fighting if needed Cygnet, Solharr, Arrluk, Kukuvrak and Arric himself. @Chacal @Mireille (Could you tag the babies and anyone else needed. I know this is going to be a big group thread. I may need help keeping track of everyone. Have fun guys. Remember to be kind and courtesy and check before doing something to or for anyone's charies. Let the big group and mothers answer first then pirates. If it helps visually. I see like the main fighters fanning out around. And the ones helping babies and mothers sort of in the middle. If one of the Sapphique siblings wants to throw out orders Arric wouldn't mind I don't think pertaining to the mama's and babies Also any fight engagement maybe better served in separate threads. Especially if you want a trade. Arric knew they were being as silent as they could. But the world was silent anyway. He knew they would never be as quiet as they needed. But they were trying that counted for something. He broke them up into two groups. One to lead the babies and mothers out. The others to guard. Etienne he hoped would joining them. He knew eti would never tell they were coming. But he was watchful and wary. This was dangerous. A bit reckless, but he couldn't in good conscience let mothers and babies to rot with kidnappers and dicks. They arrived in darkness. And he watched. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Kukuvrak - April 17, 2025 Please ping me if he's mentioned again!
This was something he had not seen from the southerners before, and it thrilled him. This amassing of force; the stalking of bodies through the woods, the way they split in to groups bent upon assault and distraction, perhaps, and speed. Kukuvrak tried to get a glimpse of each person but there were many—in the off-chance the battle came to him, too, he would need to know allies from enemies. But then, he was a fickle man. He did not know these people nor for what they fought. Perhaps they were raiding—which was a valid task—or maybe they were weak, in which case Kukuvrak would switch sides. It depended on how things played out. So he would lurk, and study them, and keep himself out of harms way until the fervor of the blood drew him in. Sos, do you see? Do you hunger? RE: Pretense against Pretext - Aiolos - April 18, 2025 His placement had been assigned and under the cloak of darkness Aiolos moved into the bleeding forest. A kiss to the maw of his mate before he went. He would take up the rear, following the steps of the two young seasalt siblings. The second group fanned out in the distance, ready to cut off those who intended to protect their raiding prizes. Taking pregnant mothers are a power move. The pups coupd be molded, used well in their ranks as they aged. They would need to move quickly. Aiolos could carry with a gentleness of a father and grandfather many times over and he would do just that. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Arrluk - April 18, 2025 Arrluk's plan of action had been dismissed in some parts and Arrluk yielded to the older wolf's suggestion. Two teams still, but they would not make themselves known with their ruggaging through caches. Instead, they would encircle the first group, keeping guard as they hunted out the captives. Likely so they would be placed in the heart of the territory, surrounded by guards. It would mean the battle would be set with children and mother near. To Arrluk, this could be riskier, yet his way would mean relying on the pirates not catching wind of the ploy. Arrluk prayed to the Moon and spirits and pushed forward through the night. His eyes shifting between his father's group and out through the forest around them. All was quiet, for now. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Sobeille - April 18, 2025 few things made sobeille’s blood run cold, but seeing @Kukuvrak among those gathered had her halting immediately. dats one of de men dat chased me,sobeille hissed in a sotto voice into @Shadess and @Lafayette’s ears, pulling both covertly aside as the procession moved. how he - an enemy to sobeille through and through - came to be among their rescue party vexed the emerald, who kept her ears and eyes upon him as they moved into formation. among the strangers she saw the familiar face of arrluk; a long look sent through the gleaming darkness for her kill-brother. around her the night thrummed with quiet energy; she felt it pulse in her blood and ripple excitingly through her skin. a tentative peace settled among the blackwood. sobeille intended to break it. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Kukutux - April 18, 2025 with sun man and the one who had loved her daughter, kukutux attended the rescue of the seawolves.
she had faith in those faces gathered; she had known many for some time now, and understood their strengths. a kiss to aiolos' cheek. she watched his tall figure move after the younger wolves, and turned to rodyn to exchange a silent glance. with the duck were carryskins of herbs and soft torn hides. she meant to be healer here if blood was shed, though any pirate not half a fool would flee when their force was spotted. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Cygnet - April 18, 2025 The scent of the ocean nearby was an assault to the senses. The murky, big-stench of seaweed made Cygnet grimace; she’d smelled the sea before, but only lingering on the fur of those who lived by the coastline. She understood now why they had smelled so repugnant. She did not see Sobeille steal her siblings aside, but she felt suspicious nonetheless to scent her in the area. Cygnet remained silent, watchful, ready for the proverbial ice beneath their feet to shatter at any moment and plunge them into chaos. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Lafayette - April 19, 2025 in a sea of unknowns—both faces and outcomes—it was good to have sobeille and shadess by his side. that small comfort faded as his older sister pulled them aside, imparting some information that made his blood run cold. mwen pral veye pou li, sè,lafayette murmured back, and then glanced back toward aiolos and rodyn. will you fight, or come wid us? it was probably a stupid question. sobeille was born to fight. but their group's path forward was not without danger, and he felt his stomach doing flips as they cut further into the forest, following the intel from etienne. his nostrils flared, searching for any trace of his manman's scent. these woods were dark and foreboding, and the trees oozed sap that looked almost like— the young man cut that thought off altogether, shaking his head and forging ahead with single-minded determination. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Shadess - April 19, 2025 Shadess wanted blood. She wanted them dead so that there may never be a chance of her enemies returning for a vengeance of their own as they sought vengeance now. It was with a reluctance that she followed the others of her group while the much more fitting warriors stood at the ready. Shadess heart beat fast snd heavy in her chest. Despite wanting the fight, she realized her excitement more and more at the thought of seeing her mother again. We plenty aid to take 'im out wid the rest if he tries anytin'.She whispers between her sister and brother as they made way. For months now it was these two at her side which all she had, all she trusted. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Anselm - April 21, 2025 single post, keeping vague - feel free to reference or LMk if he should be elsewhere!
Never had Anselm seen such a movement of bodies under dark before. More wolves gathered under the cover of night to save these women than he'd ever seen in a pack; the breadth of it humbled the tracker. His mind turned to his own sons, fearful. Hopeful. They moved one by one. An electricity in the atmosphere kept his fur lifted and senses heightened. He stuck close to Etienne, too far removed from the group to hear of anything save his and Etienne's heartbeat. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Etienne - April 27, 2025 one post. It looks as if Murkwood may have fallen. So perhaps just have the survivors post once and then we can close this out? Thank you everyone for playing along.
Etienne stuck close to Anselm. Taking comfort in the presence of the mountain man. It was painful and hard to see his family upon closer inspection as they drew nearer. And something ugly pressed into the Sea borns chest. A gross anger and hatred of the likes he had never known. He wanted to maim something. And that alone scared him more than anything else could. For he was a healer. And to hurt another. But he felt like he could do so and not think twice about it. And for that he felt a little shame. But he led to where he could. Showed places where loud paws would make the most noise and the quickest way in and out that he had been able to gather with Anselm's help. He just hoped they were enough. And in time. RE: Pretense against Pretext - Arric - April 28, 2025 alright. Since quite a few of these chsries sre going inactive. I'm gonna slap an ending on this. It was agreed they'd get out. Whether they were to scared or just didn't realize. Arric didn't know. But they got the survivors out without too much fanfare. But they all didn't look great. He hoped Etienne's healing process and Arlettes if they wanted was enough. It hurt him to see such strong woman wounded and hurting. And a hate for the kidnappers intensified. He led them all away. And would return to the creek with a sense of foreboding on his shoulders. |
