pikkuti ▪ - Kukutux - April 25, 2025 time did not wait.
time forged forward. kukutux flexed her aching wrists and set down the elkhide. another tooth had loosened itself along her gum. but a smile came all the same, eyes glowing. arrluk and @Ajei had married, and moonglow's pathways gleamed gold. she called for the young woman now, voice a lilt in springtime air. RE: pikkuti ▪ - Ajei - April 25, 2025 Ajei heard the call and extricated herself from the warm side of Arrluk. Who frankly encompassed her and she loved it. Winter would be wonderfully warm. She trotted towards the call with a smile and soft gaze. Hello Moonwoman. RE: pikkuti ▪ - Kukutux - April 25, 2025 an arm embraced the daughter of the starwoman they had all loved.
and for a moment kukutux did not speak. and then she bid them both sit, moving aside some strips of elkhide. "i have the want for you to become this, ajei. moonwoman." and Sedna whispered that this was a good thing. RE: pikkuti ▪ - Ajei - April 27, 2025 Ajei returned the embrace. She was glad she had found new family after she had lost her mother. Glad that there were those that loved her. Glad for Moonwoman and sunman and her own Arrluk. She had been blessed ten fold. Ajei blinked absolutely surprised. She did not know what to say at first. Her mind whirring. What about Vaire? She had been the next in line? Or one of the grandaughters. That was not to say that Ajei didn't feel deeply and truly honored. And there was no doubt in her mind that she would accept. Yet she felt as if she was taking away from the actual daughters of moonglow. I would gladly take the mantle, but it feels as if I am taking from the daughters of moonglow. For moonglow was the life blood of Aiolos and Kukutux. It belonged to them more than anyone else. RE: pikkuti ▪ - Kukutux - May 01, 2025 "you are a daughter of moonglow."
and it was so. Sedna had seen the duck's drive for a legacy and had taken those blood-daughters who might have followed. her pride had been its own hand, and for that kukutux knew she would bear shame into the end. even her granddaughter had spurned the name of moonwoman, and all to bring her gaze introspective. the lesson given lived in the everlasting loyalty of ajei, first to moonglow, then to moonspear, and then again to the village of her mother's people. tongue heavy; words did not come. in the warm silence of love did they live. RE: pikkuti ▪ - Ajei - May 05, 2025 Ajei didn't know of the pain that Kukutux bore. Nor did she ask. Unfortunately every wolf had to deal with grief and the truth in their own ways. Some could handle it, some couldn't. And even Ajei was unsure exactly what type she would ever be. You always thought you would do better, or more so hoped you would be better than you were, bu tno one. No one knew how they'd be until they were in the moment. Ajei felt herself warm under her fur. Well thank you, Moonwoman. I have tried to be good to those in Moonglow and Moonglow itself. RE: pikkuti ▪ - Kukutux - May 06, 2025 "yes. you have shared kind words. but more than this, you have given much to nuiruk as well. and in your own right, ajei, you are a woman of many skills and too, you understand trade." she would bring much to arrluk's hearth. kukutux saw that her son too witnessed these abilities in ajei with appreciation, but wished to speak aloud that the young orca-man was joining with one his equal in all ways.
it was as moonwoman must be. "now. i will be moonmother," the duck said with amusement. "and i think first that i will rest." rest was a hopeful thing. she had much to do! and yet ajei now held her role. time then, for moonmother to step back. RE: pikkuti ▪ - Ajei - May 09, 2025 Ajei smiled at the praise and nodded. It was true. She knew much more about trade than most. But she had observed. She had made the furs for traders. She had helped where she could. She would do her very best to bring much to the hearth of her husband. To help him in all ways. I think you deserve rest, Moonw...i mean moonmother. She nodded. She would respect this decision. Even if it scared her. |
