The one good thing left in his life was his Julienne.

He loved his daughter, and he wanted to do anything he could to make her happy. What sort of father would he be otherwise?

Trotting back towards the dens, he searched for the girl with a doe carcass hung from his jaws. The deer were beginning to give birth, and the enclosed vale seemed the perfect spot for them to cross through - or it may have been in the time before Montagne settled. Nonetheless the circle of life moved forward, and the young creature made a much easier meal to carry home than it's mother would have.

Restless. She always felt restless lately, it seemed; confined to the area around the den, the only world she'd known so far. But she knew there was more out there — and it was that knowledge which kept her restless.

Julia brightened some at the sight of her father, at least. She beelined for the fawn he'd brought, tearing into it cheerfully before she thought to greet him. Hi, she managed through a mouthful of meat, then bent her head to reclaim the dribblings.

He smiled at the sight of his daughter hungrily ripping into the carcass. She had always been a good eater - that was how he knew she would grow up strong.

Ma petite He responded, licking the top of her head. Have you been behaving?

He felt a bit bad for the girl; it had to get lonely, especially when the only other child your age could barely walk. However Julienne was growing older; soon she would be able to accompany him on short hunts, and he saw no reason he could not bring her along on his relatively uneventful patrols. But working or not, it was probably about time to take her around the territory.
