Change the Fates' design - Solenya - May 10, 2025 After @Kirain rooted herself into the Sanctum, Solenya had taken the lily around the borders, instructing her on how to mark them. Others will soon know the clear intent of those who stayed within the guardian's embrace the more marks that are made. The lupine woman was glad to have another body, another to assist in the building of her home--no, their home--especially one so sweet. She would not forget this kindness. Now, the two must explore for one very specific reason: to find a place to settle. The Sentinels was a rather large area, and much of it can be utilized, and it weighed heavy on Solenya's mind to find where the pack will bloom in full. There was much to be done, much to be found, but she had no doubt it would all come in time. Kirain! She called for her friend, now at the edges of the forest that abutted the sea. As she waited, the coolness of the salty breeze ruffled her fur, filling her senses, and it was glorious. The water below glittered, rolling back and forth to clash upon the rocks below. Her eyes followed the seabirds that flew above, drifting along the air currents, crying to the heavens above. Beautiful.she whispered. RE: Change the Fates' design - Kirain - May 10, 2025 With something to strive for again, something to ignite her spirit, Kirain had slowly begun to recover. Though her body still ached with fatigue, it was becoming easier to wander through the Sentinels on her own. At the sound of her name, she perked up and trotted toward the voice, soon finding Solenya gazing out over the landscape. Solenya! Did you need something?she asked softly, coming to a gentle stop at her side. Following her gaze, she fell silent, her breath catching as she took in the view. The waves crashed rhythmically against the rocks below, their roar softened by distance into something soothing. The sharp tang of salt lingered on the air, familiar and strangely comforting on her tongue. Wow…she whispered, eyes sweeping the horizon. RE: Change the Fates' design - Solenya - May 10, 2025 Solenya smiled, a faint laugh slipping out at Kirain's mirrored wonder. Isn't it? A deep breath in to come forth as a satisfied sigh, a calm and steady feeling of grounding rooting her to the spot. From the corner of her eye, she eyed Kirain, remembering her question. I was wondering your thoughts on finding a suitable place for our future to settle. I do quite enjoy this overlook of the sea, but my concern is for future children to be too close to the sea--we don't want the waters to claim our future. She turned, then, an idea coming forth for what this area could serve, but she held her tongue for now, wondering what Kirain thought. The lupine had many ideas, many thoughts on all things regarding the Sanctum, but this was no longer just hers. It was Kirain's, too, and when others come, it will be theirs as well. RE: Change the Fates' design - Kirain - May 10, 2025 Hm. That’s a valid point. I think you’re right about the young ones, she murmured, nodding slowly. Maybe a bit farther into the forest? Not too far, close enough that we can still enjoy the area but far enough to prevent any accidents. She mulled over the idea, thoughtful and quiet. This was the first time she’d ever been asked for her input on something like this. She was so used to solitude. The simple act of being considered warmed her heart. Turning back to the Sentinels, she let her gaze drift into their depths, losing herself in the quiet hush between the trees. It might be wise, she said at last, to settle deeper beneath the trees, more sheltered, less exposed. RE: Change the Fates' design - Solenya - May 10, 2025 With a nod of approval, she stepped down from the rocks on which she stood to land on the grass below. The area was open to the sky, with a clear border of trees and shrubs opposite of the rocky edge, a large space that could hold their pack numbers comfortably. There were different kinds of flowers spread through the grass, some bushes to line the edges of the rocky edge, almost as if it were some kind of dais. Her previous idea for this place bloomed further, but she wanted to address their settlement first. Yes, I think you may be right. Let's go in and take a look. She waved her tail excitedly. It was coming together beautifully, their Sanctum, and she couldn't contain her excitement. I wonder what we will find! RE: Change the Fates' design - Kirain - May 10, 2025 A wave of relief washed over Kirain as her idea was welcomed without hesitation. The quiet murmur of self-doubt still lingered in her mind, urging her to second-guess every thought, every contribution, but she pushed it back. She trusted Solenya. She wouldn’t lead them astray. It is exciting, isn’t it?she said, her voice soft with wonder. To build something… to watch it take root and grow. There are so many possibilities. Hope swelled in her chest, mingled with a budding sense of pride. Lead the way,she said, smiling gently. And I shall gladly follow. RE: Change the Fates' design - Solenya - May 10, 2025 Nodding, Solenya lead the way back into the forest, speaking as they walked, her words thoughtful. I was thinking--the cliff would be a wonderful place to hold ceremonies, or even where we could hold rituals. Don't you think? Her smile was wistful as she peered at Kirain who trailed behind her. Solenya gestured for Kirain to come to her side. Much like what we have already done; by giving away our past for a brighter future to bloom. For the good of ourselves, and for the good of this pack. Our offerings are a part of us, a part of our souls. Her eyes landed on the lily nestled in her companion's fur. An idea struck her, then. She stopped for a moment, hoping for Kirain to stop with her. Soulblooms, Kirain. That's what they are.She did not realize that her idea had not been said aloud, but she looked at the other as if she should know what her words meant. RE: Change the Fates' design - Kirain - May 10, 2025 Kirain nodded as they walked, listening closely to every word. I think that would be really beautiful, she said, her tone soft with thought. It’s such a stunning view, and the space feels just right. I could see it holding real meaning, something sacred, even. Solenya’s insight impressed her. She was thoughtful, perceptive. Kirain found herself growing increasingly fond of her ideas, letting them take root alongside her own. When Solenya came to a stop, Kirain paused beside her, head tilting slightly in curiosity. Soulblooms? The word lingered in the air, unexpected and strange. It left her suspended in thought for several moments. Following Solenya’s gaze, her eyes settled on the delicate flower tucked behind her ear. Soulbloom…?she echoed, brows drawing together. Like… a flower that connects to your soul? She turned the word over on her tongue, tasting its weight and wonder. Soulbloom, she repeated again, this time in a murmur, as if trying to feel the shape of it in her spirit. RE: Change the Fates' design - Solenya - May 10, 2025 Yes, yes! That's exactly it, Kirain. She bounced, her excitement evident. The lily was quick to understand all that she is putting forth and Solenya's heart bloomed with pride in the shy girl. She reached up to touch the lily gently, eyeing it as if it were something ancient, sentient. You and this lily flower are one and the same. Both represent fresh life and rebirth. And, it is just as beautiful as your soul, my sweet Kirain. Her head tilted, as if deciding something. You will be known as Kirain of the Lily. Just as I will be known as Solenya of the Lupine. It was the seed she brought with her; the one in which she planted along with the fur of her parents and the piece of antler that symbolized her siblings. Turning, she continued in, and though here eyes were open, she was not seeing what laid before them. RE: Change the Fates' design - Kirain - May 10, 2025 To see how brightly Solenya lit up at her words brought another swell of pride to Kirain’s chest. Soulblooms, what a touching, sentimental concept. She couldn’t help the blush that warmed her cheeks as Solenya spoke. Kirain of the Lily? A symbol of fresh life and rebirth? Could she truly claim a title like that? Doubt fluttered at the edges of her thoughts, but she clung to the notion anyway, tucking it away like a fragile gift. Thank you, Solenya, she said softly, her voice filled with quiet appreciation. She truly was grateful, to have met such a warm, accepting soul who saw beauty where Kirain often saw brokenness. Solenya’s thoughts offered yet more food for reflection, and Kirain found herself craving that depth more and more. Noticing her companion continuing deeper into the woods, she followed without hesitation. Solenya might have been lost in thought, but Kirain’s gaze stayed forward. Every tree, every fern, every flower, she drank it all in, searching. She was looking for something. She was searching for home. |
