[m] Be our guest - Kirain - May 31, 2025 It had been some time since Kirain left the shelter of the Sentinels. They were her home, after all. She had quickly grown to adore the wooded sanctuary and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Yet, memories, and fleeting glances, of the sea called to her. The cliffs were too distant, too high; what she craved was the cool touch of salty waves, the warmth of gritty sand beneath her paws. So, she wandered toward the bay, taking her time, savoring the journey. From lush green forests to the endless stretch of golden shoreline, every step made her heart swell with excitement. As she stepped onto the beach, her paws sank into the soft sand, a grin tugging at her lips. The sea was calm, its gentle waves lapping at the shore. Farther out, she could hear waves crashing against the distant cliffs, wild and untamed. It was beautiful. Kirain moved toward the water, stepping cautiously into the shifting surf. The chill caught her off guard, but she quickly adjusted, soon finding herself knee-deep in the ocean’s embrace. The strong, briny scent filled her senses, sending her spirit soaring. She laughed and splashed playfully, any thoughts of duty or responsibility forgotten in the moment. A part of her wondered if @Solenya felt the same way about the coast. Though they had chosen the Sentinels as their home, the salty tang of the sea could still find them in their emerald haven. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 02, 2025 He ventures back toward the coast by way of Whitefish River. When he eventually reaches the delta, he hangs a left and spends his days trawling in the surf and otherwise exploring the coastline. Bushtit doesn’t care for the noisy sea lions he comes across, so he gives them a wide berth. He spends an afternoon watching the gyrfalcons circling the nearby keep, then strikes out for the sea again the following morning. His dark eyes peer ahead and he realizes he’s near the forest where Solenya lives. He wonders how her pack is doing, though he’s more interested in those trees, even after all this time. He never did get a chance to look at them closely, after all. Since he’s nearby, Bushtit decides he can’t squander the opportunity and begins loping in that direction. He’s halfway around the bay’s curving shoreline when he realizes there’s someone in the surf. He stops short, staring at the figure prancing among the waves. She’s the first wolf he’s seen in days. His ears catch a girlish, windswept burst of laughter. Smiling to himself, he rotates to fully face the pale woman frolicking in the water. His paws sink into the soft sand as his tail flicks up in a gentle wag. Hey there!Bushtit shouts into the salty breeze. RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 02, 2025 With the taste of salt on her tongue and her pelt heavy with seawater, Kirain padded back to the safety of the sand. Her heart thrummed with joy, and a wide grin split her face as water dripped from her fur. Then—a voice! But not Solenya’s. A male’s. It caught her off guard. Instead of shaking herself dry, she turned toward the sound. A white figure, touched with color. Had she seen him before? She realized she’d been silently staring. Snapping out of it, she greeted him with her usual warmth. Hello! Isn’t it a lovely day? Nothing could dampen her spirits now. Still sopping wet, she trotted toward the stranger, tail swaying in a friendly wag. Maybe a new friend. Maybe someone for the Sanctum. She had to make this moment count. It could change everything. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 04, 2025 She doesn’t turn, his voice likely lost in the crash of the waves and the whistling wind. The corner of his mouth twitches into a boyish grin as he just watches her and waits. She’ll look to the shore eventually, he reasons. Indeed, she begins wading back toward the beach, so Bushtit calls out again. He waves for good measure, one or the other catching her attention at last. She pauses for a moment, then calls out a pleasantry before trotting closer to him. Hi!he replies with enthusiasm. I have no complaints,he adds agreeably before offering, I’m Bushtit. RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 04, 2025 It's wonderful to meet you, Bushtit! I'm Kirain. What brings you to these lovely shores? She came to a stop a short distance away, her excitement dimming slightly as the chill of her soaked fur finally set in. Glancing down at her dripping form, her eyes widened in mild surprise before she gave herself a hearty shake. Water sprayed in all directions, and her once-sleek coat puffed up wildly, sticking out at odd angles and leaving her looking thoroughly disheveled. She barely seemed to notice—until a beat later, when realization struck. Oh gosh! I'm so sorry! Did I get you?Her ears pinned back in embarrassment, and her wide eyes shimmered with genuine apology. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 05, 2025 He’s never met someone who sparkles the way Kirain does. She’s delightful! Her smile is contagious as she introduces herself and then asks him what he’s doing here. Before Bushtit can answer, she backs up a step and shakes. He turns his head slightly as cold seawater sprinkles his cheek, though he laughs through her apology. It’s cool, I hadn’t showered yet today, so…Bushtit quips, facing forward again. I’m not here for any particular reason. Just enjoying the views. Though I did want to stop by that forest there,he says, pointing past her to The Sentinels looming in the distance, and get a closer look at those yuge trees. And check in with Solenya, see how she’s doing. Do you know about her and her pack there? RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 05, 2025 She relaxed the moment he laughed, her shoulders easing as a bright grin spread across her face. The trees are pretty yuge, she added with a light giggle, a playful spark in her voice. I know Solenya and her pack quite well—seeing as I’m part of it!Kirain lifted her chin proudly, her tail wagging in energetic sways. Things are going great! We’re just hoping to bring in more recruits. She tilted her head slightly, eyes warm with curiosity. I don’t suppose I could tempt you to join us, could I? She doubted he’d say yes, but there was something about him, so vibrant, so easy to talk to. She already liked him, and the idea of sharing a home with someone like that made her tail wag even faster. Life in the Sentinels would be all the more exciting. I’m not sure if the lupine’s around at the moment, she added thoughtfully. She’s been busy visiting nearby packs, trying to make friends and build bridges. Kirain cast a glance over her shoulder, silver eyes softening as they settled on the towering trees in the distance. You’re more than welcome to visit, though. Our home is something special. These trees… they’re proof that life will always find a way to thrive, even after tragedy. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 05, 2025 Not only does she know Solenya, she’s part of her pack. Bushtit grins as Kirain tells him how well the pack is doing. It sounds like they could use some extra bodies, though of course Solenya already knows where he stands. He hates to let down Kirain, though he wonders if anything gets her down. I mean, you can tempt me all you want,he flirts with a smile, but I’m not the type to commit. He shrugs. I’ve been a nomad all my life and I have no desire to change that anytime soon. But what about you,he says, moving closer and giving her a questioning look as he motions toward The Sentinels. What brought you to—shoot, I forget what Solenya called it. He takes a couple of steps, hoping she’ll get the idea and they can walk together toward the territory. He’s a little bummed that they won’t see Solenya, though at least he’ll finally get up close and personal with those impressive trees. RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 05, 2025 His flirting sails clean over her head, and she simply beams before falling into step beside him as they head toward the Sentinels. Ah, the life of a nomad, she muses. I was one once too, in another life. Her gaze drifts, briefly clouded with memory. After a beat, she blinks it away, turning her silver eyes back to him. The Viridian Sanctum, she offers softly. It’s a long story, really—but it all comes down to not wanting to be alone anymore. Being a wanderer has its beauty. Freedom, fresh starts... but it’s also quiet. Too quiet. And I’ve had enough silence to last a lifetime. Her smile fades at the edges as her eyes flick to the scarred trees surrounding her newfound home. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 05, 2025 His head cocks at her statement, his curiosity piqued. Kirain reminds him of the pack’s name before embellishing. She found the wandering lifestyle too quiet. Bushtit bobs his head. He thinks she really means lonely, though they’re the same difference. I know what you mean,he says, sashaying around a piece of driftwood, but I’ve never really known any different, you know? If I stay too long when visiting my parents’ packs, I actually start feeling claustrophobic,Bushtit shares. I like long stories, by the way,he tacks on, though the look on his face says, No pressure. RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 05, 2025 She glanced at him curiously at the mention of claustrophobia. What an odd thing to feel. Then again, everyone experiences the world differently. When it's all you've known, I suppose I can understand that. Once upon a time, I might've felt the same—the itch to move. Her voice softened. My birth pack was nomadic. We wandered the frozen north beneath the dancing lights. Her smile faded completely as she paused. I watched them go mad, one by one, and slip away from this life. There are no words for that kind of pain. She looked to him again, more solemn now. You're lucky to still have family to connect with. Hold onto them. Life is fragile, we forget that too often. A deep breath rose in her chest, her tail swaying gently, sadly. After they died, I wandered alone. It’s different when all you’ve ever known is ice and silence. I think I went a little mad myself. A dry chuckle left her as she shook her head. I walked until my body gave out. Some part of me was ready to die. She trailed off, her eyes dimming. Sorry, she murmured, trying to lift the weight from the air. That got heavy, didn’t it? Obviously, I didn’t die, since I’m standing here talking to you.A ghost of a smile touched her lips. A kind stranger gave me a reason to keep going. A home. Companionship. Hope. Her voice faltered. And then he just... disappeared. She looked ahead, voice quieter. I started wandering again. And somehow, I wound up here—at the Sentinels. Solenya offered me a place to belong. Her gaze flicked to Bushtit, searching his expression, hoping her honesty hadn’t driven him away. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 05, 2025 His lips press together as he cocks an ear toward her, drinking in every word as his feet keep moving. They grind to a halt when she mentions watching her family go mad. Bushtit stares at her, his lips slightly parted. Does she mean mad as in insane? He blinks and shakes his head lightly, standing there as he listens to the rest of her sad, sad story. It really juxtaposes her bright, upbeat personality to the point he’s kind of thrown. He slowly resumes walking as he chews on her words, hoping she doesn’t mind that he takes a moment to process the tragic tale. Why had her whole family gone insane, one by one? How had they died? Why had her savior left? Damn,is all he can think to say. You’d never know you came from such a hard place. He means it as a compliment and hopes Kirain takes it as such. Glad you made it. Speaking of making it, they’ve reached the edge of the forest. He sniffs at the air, easily plucking out Solenya’s scent. His tail twitches as he scans the trees, then turns his snout back toward his companion. He waits for her to lead the way across the borders. RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 05, 2025 She watched him carefully as he processed her words, bracing for a flicker of judgment. But there was none—only quiet understanding in those dark eyes. She let out a soft chuckle and turned, leading them into the trees. You'd be surprised how often I hear that, she said, her tone light but sincere. I've always felt this pull toward life, toward honoring the rhythm of nature. I don’t want to cling to death or grieve forever. And I don’t want others to suffer, either. So I give them the kindness I once wished for. Seeing someone truly smile, truly thrive... that's something special to me. She offered a shrug and a half-cocked smile before continuing, But enough about me. I'm here to help, to serve. You're here for the trees, right? Kirain gestured to the silent giants around them, ancient, steadfast, and very much alive. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 06, 2025 He doesn’t think he would be surprised, though of course he keeps that thought to himself. Bushtit enjoys Kirain’s bright outlook on life and hopes he can hold onto something like it. He hasn’t experienced much hardship, though he knows it’s only a matter of time. His mother’s death will probably be his first test, though he doesn’t want to think about that right now. I mean,he counters as they walk into the woods, I definitely want to stand beside one of these things and… His voice trails off as he comes to the foot of a sequoia and stops, head craning at a nearly 90° angle as his gaze travels up its enormous trunk. Bushtit just stands there and marvels in silence for a minute or two. Most trees are a lot larger than him, of course, but this one just blows his mind. He realizes he never finished his sentence and drops his head to say, I came here for the company too. I was hoping to see Solenya but you’re not a bad consolation prize.Bushtit winks. Is it just the two of you living here or are there others? RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 06, 2025 She stood quietly beside him, a grin tugging at her lips as she took in his honest reaction. She’d felt the same awe when she first arrived at the Sentinels, the towering trees had once overwhelmed her too. Now, their lofty heights felt like guardians, steady and familiar. This place had become home. Well, I’m glad at least one of us was lucky enough to meet you on your journey, she said warmly, her tail beginning to wag with quiet joy. His presence was a welcome one. It’s just the two of us for now—for now,she repeated with a spark of hope in her voice. I know others will come, once they feel the call. When they’re ready to begin again. Her gaze softened, steady with conviction. I believe in Solenya and her vision. This place is meant to heal. To restore our strength from the inside out. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 06, 2025 It’s just the two of them. One of his canines presses into his lower lip as he mulls this, his eyes sweeping back toward the towering sequoia. His ears remain pricked toward her, catching Kirain’s words. When she mentions the word “heal,” it reminds him of something. Are either one of you a healer, like by trade? I could actually use one,he says. He considers telling her the reason, though he waits to see what she says first. Bushtit should probably feel a little embarrassed, though he was raised by Towhee Redhawk. And he’s never really been shy about his body parts. He just hopes his candor won’t make Kirain feel awkward. RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 06, 2025 Kirain tilted her head, ears flicking with interest at his request. I can’t speak for Solenya, she said, her tone warm, but I do have some experience. I trained with my birth pack—though I haven’t had many chances to use those skills since coming here. Her eyes gleamed with curiosity as she stepped a little closer. What seems to be troubling you? It had been ages since she’d truly put her healing knowledge to the test. The thought stirred something in her, a spark of purpose. Maybe this was an opportunity she’d been waiting for. RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 06, 2025 It doesn’t sound like she’s officially pursued the trade, though beggers can’t really be choosers. Besides, it can’t hurt to ask for her opinion, professional or otherwise. Right? Bushtit shifts his weight as she sidles closer, feeling a slight tinge of warmth in his cheeks as he opens his mouth to tell her. It burns when I pee. It started maybe four or five days ago. RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 06, 2025 Mature Content Warning![]() The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: Mention of genital activities I see. There could be a few reasons for that. Have you injured your genitals recently? Engaged in any unusual activities? Specifically, anything involving… inserting foreign objects? She asked it all with disarming ease, her voice calm and sincere, clearly focused on helping. I’ve heard some people take an interest in that sort of thing. No judgment, of course! Her eyes sparkled with curiosity as she looked at him encouragingly. Any other symptoms I should know about? RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 06, 2025 Mature Content Warning![]() The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: STImplications… She doesn’t appear in the least bothered. Bushtit muffles a snicker as she asks him some follow-up questions. Had he injured himself? He shakes his head. Had he engaged in any unusual activities? Like what? He hesitates, then shakes his head again. He stills at her mention of foreign objects. How would he even do something like that?! No, none of the above,he says, then quirks a brow and adds, I mean… I’ve done some inserting, if you know what I mean.Bushtit grins boyishly. But it’s all normal and consensual and shit. And it’s never hurt at all. So… RE: Be our guest - Kirain - June 06, 2025 Mature Content Warning![]() The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: Sexual innuendo >.> She kept nodding, mentally noting everything he said—until he mentioned insertion. That made her pause. What do you mean you’ve been inserting?she asked, giving him a puzzled look. I can’t say I do know what you mean, but… I’m glad it’s consensual and painless? Her voice carried a thread of confusion now, her silver eyes narrowing as they searched his face for answers. Do you, uh, regularly engage in these kinds of activities? Her mind buzzed with possibilities. He did say no foreign bodies… so how exactly does one perform insertion? RE: Be our guest - Bushtit - June 06, 2025 Want to put an “m” in the title so we don’t have to label every post? :P
She’s puzzled. He’s puzzled by her puzzlement. Bushtit returns her squint, though his eyes gradually begin to widen as something dawns on him. Kirain seem so happy and innocent. Is it entirely possible she’s clueless about sex? His lips part as he debates whether to drop it or pursue the matter in the interest of his health. Yeah, I have sex pretty regularly,he flat-out tells her, then waits to see if anything clicks. RE: [m] Be our guest - Kirain - June 06, 2025 :O magical
Kirain stood frozen for several long moments, slowly processing his words. Then it clicked. A small gasp escaped her as heat rushed to her face. Suddenly unsure where to look, she cast her gaze anywhere but at Bushtit—admiring one tree, then another, then the ground as if it were the most fascinating thing she’d ever seen. Ah! O-of course! It’s only natural. Completely and totally natural…She wasn’t sure if she was reassuring him or herself, but either way, the words lodged in her throat like a stone. W-well… that, um, certainly is a factor to consider. She cleared her throat, scrambling for anything useful. Perhaps lemon balm? Peppermint? Sage? She fumbled through the list, mind still reeling from the revelation. A sheepish laugh slipped out. I’m sorry, I’d like to think I’m usually more helpful than this! RE: [m] Be our guest - Bushtit - June 06, 2025 She stares vaguely for several beats. Is she buffering? Bushtit looks around, though most of his view is blocked by the enormous tree in front of him. His gaze only swings back to Kirain at her soft exclamation. He can tell right away that things are now very awkward. But she still attempts to help. Bushtit’s ears cup forward at her stammered suggestions, even though he can’t understand how his active sex life led to this. Surely it’s not possible to get, like, rug burn on the inside of his…? You want me to put lemon and mint,he says slowly after she finishes, where—in my pee hole?! No. That can’t be right. Bushtit’s legs squeeze together as his junk threatens to shrivel inside his body. He’ll take the mild burning sensation over… that. RE: [m] Be our guest - Kirain - June 06, 2025 Once again, she paused to fully process his words—then suddenly burst into laughter. Despite the lingering awkwardness, the sound was light and genuine, bubbling up like spring water. No! Oh, no, no, no! That would be terrible! She had to take a moment to compose herself, catching her breath before continuing. Orally. You take it by mouth to boost your system and fight off illness. I don’t think I have any remedies that require… insertion. There it was again, that word, but this time, it didn’t come out quite so strained. Her eyes still danced with amusement, even as her cheeks remained warm. I’m thinking your frequent contact with others might’ve caused this, she said, trying her best to stay composed. Maybe you, um… might want to take a little break for a while? She bit her bottom lip, suppressing another smile, clearly trying hard to be professional, though the effort was visibly slipping. |
