Dig if you will the picture - Kinusi - June 02, 2025 Long after many had said their piece. As wolves had either given their forgiveness or moved in their anger. Kinusi went forward to retrieve the gift she had been left. A pelt of soft white down. Enough to cover a nape or use to hold herbs. And with it she decided rare herbs would go. Herbs she only needed in times of great peril. She did not utter a thank you. She did not go in search of the leader that had been reinstated. Instead she traveled among the forest floor, and lifted her voice in song. I never meant to cause you any sorrow I never meant to cause you any pain I only wanted to one time to see you laughing I only wanted to see you
Laughing in the purple rain Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain Purple rain, purple rain I only want to see you Bathing in the purple rain I never wanted to be your weekend lover
I only wanted to be some kind of friend Baby, I could never steal you from another It's such a shame our friendship had to end
Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain Purple rain, purple rain I only want to see you Underneath the purple rain Honey, I know, I know
I know times are changing It's time we all reach out For something new, that means you too You say you want a leader But you can't seem to make up your mind I think you better close it
Purple rain, purple rainAnd let me guide you to the purple rain Purple rain, purple rain If you know what I'm singing about up here C'mon, raise your hand Purple rain, purple rain I only want to see you Only want to see you In the purple rain Song Purple Rain by Prince
RE: Dig if you will the picture - Fleur - June 06, 2025 Fleur had not gone far from the gathering of Solharr’s return, but enough away from searching eyes. She had needed space to breathe again, her throat burning with unshed tears as emotions flooded her. He was safe, for that alone, she was grateful. But, he had gone and left her in this stifling darkness—for what? Her anger could not see reason. Refused. The hurt of his quiet departure had left its mark, and when he found her, he would hear of it. For now, she sat quietly, staring up into the changing skies, through trees that reached for the heavens. A song drifted to her, the forest hushed as if straining to listen. Fleur decided to drift toward it, finding Kinusi at the heart of its melody. That was a beautiful song.she said by way of greeting. RE: Dig if you will the picture - Kinusi - June 07, 2025 Kini was started from her reverie by the sound of another. Her mother's blue eyes found and studied the she wolf Fleur. Pretty enough. Kind enough. Kinusi didn't know her well. Kinusi bowed her head. Thanks. I can't take credit for inventing it. But I can for the voice part. Kinusi shifted. I don't think we've met officially. I'm Kinusi. RE: Dig if you will the picture - Fleur - June 07, 2025 Fleur hummed a chuckle. I suppose you should. It’s what drew me here, anyway. She looked to the ground, a paw stirring the dirt. The woman introduced herself and Fleur immediately felt guilt wash over her, slight embarrassment coloring her cheeks. She looked to the woman, fire meeting water, a wince in her gaze. I’m sorry it’s come after all this time to finally exchange names. I’m Fleur. Her tail, billowed behind her, waved gently. What’s your story, Kinusi? RE: Dig if you will the picture - Kinusi - June 10, 2025 Kinusi felt a thrill of pride curl along her sides and lift the guard hairs of her shoulders. It was nice to know that her voice could call to others. It made her feel special, like a true singer. Kinusi didn't blame the woman for not knowing her. She had come for one wolf. He had abandoned her. She had started to get a bit of a not true friendship, but a kinship if you will with the leader. And then he left too. So Kini had been stubbornly hiding in the shadows. Kinusi gave a shrug of shoulders. Eh it happens. I haven't been overtly open with others myself. So you know. Her ears perked forward and she chuckled. I have many stories. I collect them. But my own story. I was born to a storyteller, bard and healer named Alaric. He is a leader at Moonspear. My mother left when I was young and my brother followed. I came here when I was about mmm 6 months. RE: Dig if you will the picture - Fleur - June 11, 2025 It was plain to see that Fleur’s words caused Kinusi to preen slightly, and Fleur couldn’t help but to beam brightly. She adored the talent—if the pack ever held events, she might ask Kinusi to fill the air with her voice. That is, if Solharr’s return had not shaken the others to the point of dispersing. She acknowledged Kinusi’s explanation with a gentle nod. I can also claim I haven’t been quite generous in my time getting to know others—beyond Solharr. But, I’m happy that we got this chance despite the shaky ground on which the pack currently stands. Her face fell, remembering the hurt and anger that simmered in her heart. As Kinusi told her story, Fleur’s eyes widened, shock plain on her face. Six months? Kinusi—how old are you currently? The dark-haired girl had appeared young, but the sun-kissed woman did not realize it may be much younger than she had originally thought. RE: Dig if you will the picture - Kinusi - June 13, 2025 Kinusi was proud of her talents. She was proud that she could sing well, and that she could tell stories well. And that she could help heal. It was important to her. And it made her feel useful to a pack in some way. Kini frowned. Well, if he sticks around these things have way of working out. And I dont think it would have been so bad, if he told someone what he was planning instead of just running off like a thief in the night. But well dad says grief does strange things to you. Kinsusi stopped to think. Umm, I just turned a year old at the beginning of summer. June 1st in fact
RE: Dig if you will the picture - Fleur - June 13, 2025 She huffed, a roll of her eyes in solidarity with Kinusi. I can agree with that. We had…spent the night together before he left—I woke and he was gone. I had thought that maybe he had left in search of food, or maybe he needed space, but he never returned. If he had just told me—anyone…a heavy sigh faded the rest of her thought. Kinusi did not need to be subjected to a broken heart that she did not cause. You’re so much younger than I thought—don’t take that the wrong way, though! I can already tell that your heart, and mind, are well beyond that of someone your age.It was true—Kinusi held herself with an air of someone who had many more years of life to them. RE: Dig if you will the picture - Kinusi - June 13, 2025 Kinusi was young, yes. But she also knew the implications of what Fleur had just said. And part of her was surprised. And then furious on the she wolf's behalf. What a way to behave. Take what you want and then leave. How cruel. How disgusting. It wasn't making the case for Solharr any better. Kini shrugged. I had to grow up fast. My dad is great. But my mom left when I was pretty young. Then my brother. The leader of the pack left too and her children except for one. Then I met a wolf, thought he was pretty decent, he is the one actually that brought me here. Then he also left. So I mean as the say the world shapes you and all that. RE: Dig if you will the picture - Fleur - June 13, 2025 It indeed does, Kinusi. She understood it, had felt reshaped—or rather, misshaped—by the amnesia that followed her arrival on the coast. Slowly, her life started to reform since Solharr found her—but she felt even that little bit of change almost revert since his departure. At the very least, she was thankful that their night was not spent in her giving herself to him fully, but a sharing in keeping each other’s ghosts away. If there had been intimacy, her reaction to his return would have been much, much worse. Listen—within whatever power I have, I’d like to help our pack heal. My hope is that we can all become closer…though, I won’t force it, but the offer stands for everyone. For you. I know what it’s like to feel lost. She shrugged at that, nonchalance in the lift of her shoulders. The woman did not want anyone to feel like they’re just drifting on the wind. RE: Dig if you will the picture - Kinusi - June 13, 2025 Kinusi wasn't sure about a lot of things yet. She was still young. But she did know that the way her world was shaped had changed her. It just had. Every interaction. Kinusi nodded her head. Well we'll see what we can do. It's a pretty place and most of our packmates seem solid. RE: Dig if you will the picture - Fleur - June 13, 2025 It sure is—an ancient beauty lives here and we are lucky enough to witness it. The sun had continued its fade towards the earth, casting the Quarry in a mix of gold and shadow. The gilded light bounced off the crystalline quarry pools, sending a shimmer to ripple along the walls. She smiled, the gods had blessed them—with what she did not know. Not yet. I should go—maybe seek out the others before I give our leader a piece of my mind.Another sigh escaped her, thoughts drifting to the inevitable. She turned, nodding to the young girl I look forward to getting to know you better. Good night, Kinusi. |
