Qaĝaasakung huzuu haqakux̂ - Ahna - July 07, 2025
@Ajei Thread name is the rough translation for the Aleut phrase "welcome"/"thank you all for coming. Set for an early morning, just as the sun is beginning to rise. Keeping the siblings existence vague for IC purposes. Super short because, well, she's just a baby. :D
Ahna had been sleeping soundly against her mother's warm belly, content in all ways. But somehow, she had managed to squirm away from that comfort. She let out a frustrated squeal, calling for help. even though she had displaced herself no more than a foot away.
Even though the nights were warm, to a little one who could not regulate her own body heat, this unintentional relocation was surely something to fuss about.

Ajei who was completely in tune with the noises her children often made. Was quick to waken when one of her three moved about. Two of her children were always rather quiet and not very restless. But Ahna, Ahna she would bet had a little more of her grandparents in her. She was more prone to moving about. To squirming and making noises. Bringing in teh day. And Ajei reveled in it.
She reached to lift the squealing babe. Making soft gentle hushing noises.
It is okay little one.

Her mother was quick to reach out and return the squirmy little pup close to the warmth of her body.
And even though she couldn’t hear her mother’s soothing voice, Ahna calmed and quieted. She wriggled closer to her mother’s chest, between her front legs. It was here she settled.
If we can’t think of more to write, I am totally fine with archiving after this or the next post. :) It won’t be before long that she can see and hear.
