Shinin' down on me - Ludovicus - July 12, 2025

Sobs wracked trough the trees of the once quiet Deepwood Weald as below the canopies a young boy ran through. Ludovicus felt that he was surely too old to be crying like this, but he was never one to grow angry in the face of his troubles. The trees were all beginning to all look the same now, and nonetheless he had no clue where to go; back to his father? Moonspear? Somewhere else all together?

The plan had been to make the trip home, not to one he knew but that of his mother. She boasted stories of sheep and battles, scars of honour and mountain peaks so high that only the bravest of their kind would climb them. She said he would be able to meet his grandfather too, the Osman he was named for, but now he wasn't so sure he ever could. Something had gone wrong; maman went to inspect a noise she heard and never came back, and when the sun rose he couldn't find Ignace either. He assumed his brother had gone searching for her.

He had searched too. All it left him with was an empty stomach.

Failing time and time again, waiting to no avail, he had ran back towards what was familiar.

RE: Shinin' down on me - Raindrop - July 13, 2025

Hope you don’t mind me barging at 4:24 in the morning. I’m exercising my creativity before I work from 5am to 1:30 pm. :D

Raindrop and Ponderosa had decided to go out on a hunting trip, to help provide food not just for themselves, but for the new generation of Moonglow. Their hunt brought them all the way to Deep Wood Weald.

They were stalking a deer, a young buck; Eyes, ears and noses on the alert. But, at some point, ‘Rosa stopped, “Mom.” She said, “there’s a wolf’s scent; a pup.”

What ‘Rosa said surprised Raindrop. Without a second thought, they would turn their attention to finding the pup. Their next meal could come later. “We’ll find them.” She told her daughter, as they began their new hunt.

They searched, and searched, when finally, a sound reached Raindrop’s ears. She paused, listening…. It sounded like sobbing. “This way!” She announced, and the pair headed off towards the sound.

It wasn’t before long that they came upon the lost pup. Raindrop slowed her movements, encouraging her daughter to do the same. “Hello. I’m Raindrop of Moonglow. Are you lost?” Her voice was kind, motherly. She hoped to not scare the young one.

It was not a horrible beast that caught up to him as he had began to fear over the weeks, but two women. He slowed to a stop when he saw them approaching, taking the time to carefully assess the pair. They seemed easy to trust; calm demeanours, kind faces.

The older of the two spoke, mention of a 'Moonglow' catching his attention briefly. I can't find my maman. He responded, tears ceasing for the moment despite his pouting face. We went that way -- he spoke, gesturing northwest, -- but she went to go check for a noise and didn't come back, so I wanted to go home.

He still had to hope that she and Ignace were alright, but he had no idea where they could have gone.

RE: Shinin' down on me - Raindrop - July 15, 2025

The upset child had explained that he had been separated from his mother. She felt bad for the young child, who was no more than a few months old, she guessed. The fact that his mother had not returned worried Raindrop. Was he abandoned or merely sperarted?

She moved closer to him, and gently nuzzled him, licking the tears from his precious face. “It’s alright. We’ll do our best to make sure you’re safe first.” “Then we can try and find your mother.” Her voice kind as she reassured him. “My pack lives close by; would you like to come with us until we find your mother?”

It wasn’t safe for such a young pup to be out here in the wilds, much less alone.

His nod was wary but came quickly. He could not continue to remain alone, he still needed someone to help care for him and ensure that he could make the usual childhood mistakes safely. If I'm allowed.

My name is Ludo. An important piece of knowledge, he was sure. His name was one of the things he still had. What's Moonglow like?

He nodded. She would make sure he had everything he needed.

“Well, Ludo, Moonglow is a very welcoming place. The alpha’s are very kind.” She told him, then signaling to her daughter, who had been keeping to herself, that they would start heading back.

“We will check with the Alphas, first. But I’m sure they won’t turn you away.”

Should we fade and start a new thread in Moonglow? I’m kind of excited about this new dynamic. Hehe.
