Promises to keep - Rodyn - July 17, 2025 Rosyn returned to the Sentinels as promised. Though he felt burdened by the knowledge he carried. So many were gone. Just disappeared. Where did they all go? Entire packs just gone. It filled him with a fear amd wariness. Was the Teekon dying? He had a few items for trade. Furs and shells and other small things. He lifted his nose to send out a small request for @Solenya RE: Promises to keep - Sam - July 17, 2025 Entering the wilds through an endless wood without so much as a glob of spit left behind as homage had been a mistake. Looking back, there must have been signs. Meeting Ghost must have been a sign. A blind prophet? Come on. Sam had not spoken for days when Rodyn called. He hadn't seen Solenya for longer, and tired though he was from visiting the wet bowels of hell om a mushroom trip, perhaps this was a chance to spread the word - or ask questions. Sam wound his way through dim world under the trees, squinting when he eventually stepped into the light to face a large, brown wolf. The yearling's voice was a mere croak when he jumped straight past pleasantries and asked "Does it all seem empty to you? Like something just.. took everyone?" RE: Promises to keep - Solenya - July 24, 2025 There was no excuse for her distance from the others—nothing to explain where she had gone or what she had been doing all of this time. Solenya had not been there for her pack as she should have; she had been as useless as a newborn pup. How could the guardians deem her worthy now? How could they see any potential in her when all she has done is hide away? And from what? Oh, how she wished she knew. But, she was here now. At the very least, when she heard a wolf’s call at their borders, she could greet who called for her. The lupine would have to face the others soon enough. Yet when she approached the border from where the call had come, she hadn’t realized she would face Sam…and Rodyn. Her ears perked to catch the young one’s words only to fall as each syllable hit her in the chest. Her absence might have affected the others more than she realized—her guilt grew even more. But, it was not time nor place to grovel for forgiveness. Her steps were soft as she closed the distance, her tail swaying gently. Eyeing the males in turn, her lips lifted as she nodded to each. Sam. Rodyn. I’m happy to see you, both. RE: Promises to keep - Rodyn - July 25, 2025 Rodyn blinked in surprise when it wasn't Solenya, but another who answered. His confusion only grew as the wolf spoke in riddles and conjecture. He was saved from answering when Solenya did show up. A warm smile a wag of his tail. But he would answer the strange one first. You aren't wrong par say. Many of the packs are gone. I have been all over. So many packs are just gone. Hello Solenya. I hope you're well. It is good to see your face . RE: Promises to keep - Sam - July 26, 2025 The stranger used kind words, but looked at Sam like you might look at that one pup in the batch with a soft head and an affinity for falling. He clapped his mouth shut, embarrassed, but before he could ask more about the missing packs, a ghost emerged from the woods. Sam blinked at Solenya. "I thought it had taken you," he said dumbly, then turned to the wolf named Rodyn. "I thought it had taken her." What was the Huldra's deal? Sam looked between the two wolves, but when they did not offer him anything beyond sympathetic looks, he breathed a disappointed sigh and turned back toward the forest. Edit: Exiting Sam! |
