aniiqsuaq - Ahna - July 24, 2025

Title roughly translates to " to relax or play outside" in Inupait. The pup's first time going outside the den! Keeping their brother's exsitancer vague. @Arrluk @Ajei

Ahna had just woken from her late morning nap. Beside her lay Chinook, and she reached over to nuzzle her malġi, @Chinook, awake. She wanted to explore, to see what was beyond the den, where the warm sunlight came from when it would shine through the den mouth.

Whenever Chinook was ready, she would be ready. They were bonded by more than blood, but by spirit as well. They were two of a kind, like peas in a pod. They held a special bond, one that ran deeper than the regular sibling bond.

She barked softly.

RE: aniiqsuaq - Chinook - July 24, 2025

Chinook didn't know it yet, but her sister was brave. She lived life already with such curiosity of the world around her, such focus, such ambition!

Chinook woofs low in response to her sister. Though she holds the same curiosity she's far more hesitant, siding with caution. Despite this, Chinook does not leave her sister's side. She would find her own strength within Ahna. They would share their strengths as well as their weaknesses.

She woofs again, louder this time and stumbles towards the light of day.

A grumble from out the Tóangun's mouth, he lifts his head from the antler he had been chewing at as he lay outside the mouth of the den, keeping duty on behalf of his wife.

Come to meet the sun? Arrluk smiles softly, the title of Sunman playing at his not-so-distant memory.

RE: aniiqsuaq - Ahna - July 25, 2025

Together, Ahna and Chinook moved toward the entrance, their strength coming from one another. When they reached the mouth of the den, Aapa spoke, his voice strong, but gentle. She did not know what his words meant. "Ah--" She began to babble, "Ah-pah!" She spoke! How liberating it was to speak your thoughts, to hear them aloud.

She stepped out farther, out into the brightness of day. How beautiful it was! The world was bright, colorful! She looked to the sky, squinting her eyes; was that big bright ball the sun?

"S-s-uhn?" She babbled inquisitively, titling her small head to the side, her blue eyes looking to Arrluk.

RE: aniiqsuaq - Chinook - August 03, 2025

It was indeed very bright. Chinook's eyes narrowed as her sister's had. She looked up to the big open sky above. She looked to the green grass under her footing. She looked to the bright orange - ah, fuck!

Chinook closed her eyes, shaking her head. Man that was bright. Maybe she shouldn't look directly at that because it hurt her eyes and head. A lesson learned rather quickly in life.

The little pup wanted to press tight to her sister yet also wanted to press into her father. She wasnt used to so much space all around her. So much openness.

Aap. Aap. Noises almost like she qere sneezing as she inched herself further outward.

RE: aniiqsuaq - Arrluk - August 14, 2025

Yes, the sun. She lights our days and warms our backs. She draws our path to the hunt. Arrluk's muzzle lifts, giving a sweeping motion across the sky and then back down to the twins.

Thats it! Come come, little ones. The father would gently encourage, his legs tucking closer to his body as he leaned into their direction, reaching out with his muzzle so to help close that distance, but would pull away little by little in order to get them moving further out on their own.

RE: aniiqsuaq - Ahna - August 15, 2025

Ahna was encouraged by her father’s words, and continued to move forward. She kept reaching, reaching for her father, and each time he pulled back, she  strode even further!

She laughed! A laugh of pure joy; amusement! “Ah-pah!”

The sun indeed warmed her dark back as it shone brightly down upon the small family! It was as if the sun watched them from above, and was expressing its own joy.

RE: aniiqsuaq - Chinook - August 30, 2025

Chinook follows close by her sister. Each step from her is matched by Chinook's own. Sun hot on their backs, they would heed the call from their father as they would time and time again from their father and mother both.

Aap, aap! Almost frustrated with herself, she couldn't get out that "pah" out like her, somehow or another, sister was able to.

RE: aniiqsuaq - Arrluk - September 03, 2025

The Waterman noses into them both as they are close enough. Pulling them with his front paws to be centered between his forlegs. He then settles the antler he hd been munching on with them, so that they may chew on this before deciding to chew on him.

This here was once a great horn of a nukatagaaġruk (large bull, recently matured). He was strong, but arrogant and inexperienced.
