yeni kral - Kemal - September 19, 2025 Tagging leadership for visibility. If you need anything more from Kemal please let me know, my hope is for him to slip away and let this set up future threads, but I get it if that can't happen! Otherwise take this as a cameo! @Towhee @Amalia
He came in the cover of night. It was not only Soto he blamed, but the caldera too. It had been easy to find, Leandros had reeked of them when he returned from his first trip. Kemal did not want to speak, nor did he want to fight. Instead, he left a gift of his own. The head of a coyote. He had crafted it himself, and the smell of Verapaz should they recognise it would be enough to send the message. Whatever sort of alliance they had, it was over. Pushing out a hot breath, he stalked away from the borders. RE: yeni kral - Towhee - September 20, 2025 Hours later, Towhee stood over the decapitated head and wondered why Soto had left it there—or tasked one of his cronies to deliver it, going by scent. Was it supposed to be some sort of apology for rejecting her? Was it meant for their son? Or maybe there was some other, more nefarious intention behind it? Towhee shrugged, deciding she didn’t care. She plucked up the head, which was more unwieldy than one might think, and dropped it off at the nearest cache. After she finished her patrol, maybe she would pick it up and take it back to the Hobbit Hole for the kids to play with. RE: yeni kral - Trailhawk - September 20, 2025 hope this is ok 0:)
Hunting with @Hotah and speaking with @Cinar had made Trailhawk feel as if she was at an important crossroad in her life. The Caldera was her future, her home. Whatever she wanted in life might come from it. But what did she want besides a home? The thought was tucked away as she smelled the ungodly gift that had been left. The scent of the Elder Redhawk mingled with it. Without second thought, she followed the trail to where it had been carried off to. Cached. Which meant surely it was a gift. Maybe just an odd one. She carried onward, eager to catch up with Towhee and see what that was all about. RE: yeni kral - Towhee - September 22, 2025 The macabre find soon left her mind as Towhee rounded the caldera. There wasn’t much movement out here today, though something caught her eye and dragged it upward. She saw a hawk circling far above, the sight immediately making her think of @Towhee Jr. The Elder thought often of all her children, particularly those whose whereabout she didn’t know, and she spent a solid ten minutes wondering just where her lookalike might be these days. Was Ghost still with her? Was her mate? Her children? She paused to sniff at an old marker, dipping her hips to refresh it. While she squatted, her head panned left to right, then back again. She spotted a familiar white figure coming toward her and rose back to her full height with a little wriggle. Her tail lifted a little, waving in welcome even as she resumed along the patrol route. What’s haps?she queried, orange eyes flicking over to Trailhawk’s face. RE: yeni kral - Trailhawk - September 22, 2025 Her own tail offered a lower wave of respect and fondness for the Elder Redhawk. There was no denying that if Trailhawk had taken a particular shine to any one member it was certainly Towhee. But she was branching out as well! Regardless, the question earned a small grin before she tossed her head back where the Redhawk had come from. Who left gift? This was asked as she easily pulled herself towards Towhee's side, content to let the two of them patrol while they had their little social catch up. RE: yeni kral - Towhee - September 22, 2025 Gift?she repeated, her brow furrowing quizzically. Wha—oh. You mean the decapitated head? I think one of Soto’s henchmen left it. I was thinking it was maybe a weird kind of peace offering but who knows?Towhee posited before realizing Trailhawk might have no clue who she was talking about. Soto’s the leader of a pack in the lowlands. He also happens to be Bushtit’s padre—his dad. She shrugged, which gave a pretty good indication of her feelings on the matter. Whatever reason it had been left didn’t really impact Towhee. She hadn’t seen Soto in months and wouldn’t care if she never saw him again. Now that Bushtit was grown, he could maintain his own relationship with the Segundo if he wanted. I don’t think you’ve ever had the chance to meet Bushtit, have you? He’s my youngest, about a year old now,Towhee explained, and out doing his own thing. She chewed at her lip as an errant thought crossed her mind: Not youngest for long… But she quickly put that thought in a box and shoved it into a corner. RE: yeni kral - Trailhawk - September 22, 2025 She nodded softly. Gift and decapitated head hardly seemed like two words that should go together. Yet it seemed awfully nice to leave any kind of meat on their doorstep right before the cold would sweep in. Who were they to look that gift horse in the mouth? Then came the flood of knowledge. Soto, a leader — and also a father. To Bushtit. A son of Towhee's who she had indeed — and shook her head to confirm — not met yet. Would he come visit? She inquired genuinely. Not understanding if that might have been a social faux pas to ask, given that the kid was away doing his own thing. You have good family. Would be nice to see more. She tacked on with a toothy grin. It seemed the both of them were content to pass over whatever omen the gifted head could have been. RE: yeni kral - Towhee - September 29, 2025 He stops by on a fairly regular basis,Towhee said, through her brow furrowed, although he hasn’t visited in a while. He’s a yearling now,she realized aloud. She took a breath. I raised him on the road, so he’s very self-sufficient… and prone to nomadery. Was that a word? But I hope he visits soon. He’s such a character, very easy to love. Gosh, had his first birthday really come and gone? Towhee didn’t know quite how to feel about it, though it made her reflect on where she’d been a year ago (give or take) versus now. She had never been back to the copse and figured Meerkat et al hadn’t either. That begged the question: were Reyson and Meadow still there? She sincerely doubted it. Ummm, she said, catching herself lost in thought and refocusing upon her companion, sorry about that, went tripping down memory lane for a sec there. Anyway, I have no idea why it was left there or what it’s supposed to mean. We were on okay terms for a while but things drifted. We haven’t had much to do with one another. I don’t just mean Soto and me, I mean our packs. She shrugged, then stopped to sniff at another marker. This one was passably fresh, so she kept moving after a quick assessment. |
