The Greatest Pack Ever! Seriously! - Lyric Redhawk - September 22, 2025

Watching Lyric working about outside the den, it was hard to imagine he was up to anything but pure mischief. Pushing rocks into new positions, tossing the last of the seasons flowers around, and digging small holes in the softer parts of the ground. The truth was much simpler than a grand prank or redecorating though, and maybe a bit dorkier too.

He was a warrior today! The big (and very strong) alpha of the great pack, Lyricopolis. But of course, such a great and strong leader needed an equally great territory.. hence his beautiful craftmanship. He was just about done now, and eyeing the caldera up for any intruders! Lyriceus of the great Lyricopolis would not tolerate such disrespect.

Admittedly, he did hope for an intruder or two.. playing his games alone was no fun!

As promised, the ear of a rabbit was in her jaws. Two ears actually. She intended on gifts for both children today.

Yet it seemed only Lyric was out at the moment — and that the boy had constructed something for himself! She dropped the rabbit ears at her paws and let her tail wave eagerly behind her.

Who are we today?

This inquired genuinely with a wide grin.

To his surprise (and joy!) Trailhawk joined him today, and with the rabbit ears he asked for!

I am Lyriceus of Lyricopolis! He announced to her in response. Eyeing Trailhawk, he paused for a moment before speaking once more. You are my beta. I'm looking out for intruders right now, so you should help me. That was what a beta did, right? Given the Redhawks had a different set up for their roles, he wasn't quite sure.

Smiling wide, he gestured to the set up around him. Do you like the territory I made?

Lyriceus! Of Lyricopolis!

I am honored. She answered with a wide waving of her tail now. She allowed herself to slink around the structure he had made, eyes observant of it before they turned out towards the Caldera's claim. Did the boy already have a taste for leadership? She would encourage such just as she encouraged his characters.

I do but... She nodded and hummed a thoughtful note. We need bigger stone. One to block off one side. Her head tilted as she looked to the new leader of Lyricopolis — what did he make of his beta's first advice?

'Lyriceus' promptly gasped. You're right! An intruder would get in through there, easily. Problem was, he couldn't lift particularly large rocks.. but Trailhawk might be able to. Then.. as your first order, we need to get a bigger rock!

Head whipping to the left, he eyes the area around the den for something suitable. He will only consider the best rocks for Lyricopolis.

Gesturing with his paw, he pointed out a rock about a metre or so outside of their 'territory'. That one! It was big enough that he couldn't push it, but small enough that it could be moved with the help of Trailhawk.

She offered a low, respectful bow to her new leader. Even if she was his temporary beta in this new story they were weaving.

I will need support from Lyriceus! Mighty leader of Lyricopolis! She imagined that if she put her might into it she could move the stone alone. Wouldn't it be joyous to send the boy back to his mother and grandmother tired, though?

Regardless she was already headed for the task. She took her role as beta very seriously! Fully prepared to use her shoulder as leverage against the rock to move it to their weak spot.

Well of course she needed his help! Lyriceus was very mighty, and very strong. Bounding after Trailhawk, he waited for her beside the rock.

Do you think somebody will sneak in while we're gone? He asked, though his face had a clear smile. Trailhawk might need to prepare for some wrestling today. We'll have to scare them real bad. Especially my sist- he cut himself off, shaking his head. Especially Carolina, of the Blackfeather Woods. They're very evil! He had taken notes from Towhee's stories! Though, clearly he made it his own.

RE: The Greatest Pack Ever! Seriously! - Trailhawk - September 22, 2025

Well...she hadn't thought anyone would sneak in until he created an enemy for today's story!

What makes Blackfeather evil? Are they... She trailed off and tried to play it off as building tension. Truthfully, she was searching for the word. Spies? A conspiratorial whisper with a sly grin.

She set to work on moving the stone, expecting him to fill the time it would take with another grand tale!

Admittedly, Lyric wasn't much help. He was far more focused on his storytelling.

Yes, and they killed my great grandma GG. He responded, shaking his head with the best impression of sadness he could manage in his joyful state. Towhee was certainly still alive, but well, Lyriceus had noticed that she was much lazier in recent days. He could trust that she wouldn't suddenly resurrect and ruin his story. One day we'll defeat them!

But not today, great grandma GG would have to be avenged in a sequel. There were rocks to be moved.
