you're mine - Cinar - September 22, 2025

Looking for @Alivia!

Cinar had come looking for Alivia by the old medicine den they had cleaned out together. He wasn't sure that she would be here.. but it was worth a shot.

He had found that as the cold weather settled in, it was time to give her physical therapy a try. His shoulder was bothering him when so much as a chill passed him by, and that was enough for him to decide he couldn't ignore it any longer.

It was hard to feel sure of something unfamiliar, but he trusted Alivia. He didn't think that she had it in her to hurt him, or a reason to. Hopefully.

Alivia stood in the neglected garden she had found behind the medicine den, sniffing dubiously at one of the withered herbs. She was quite sure that there was nothing here worth trying to save, but she would let Towhee be the judge of that. The Elder had mentioned wanted to take a look at it.

Her head popped up when Cinar approached, looking for her obviously.. what else would bring him out here? She smiled. He was a busy man, and she wondered how she had found her way onto his to-do list.

"Hey Cinar. I've been saving that Green for ya," she called, making an assumption about what he wanted.

Cinar was pleased to see Alivia, tail waving low behind him, but he found himself surprised by her words for a moment. He had completely forgotten about the green! Between everything else, the promise had slipped his mind.

But, playing it cool, he wouldn't admit that. I came here for another offer you made, actually. He chuckled, Would you still be willing to show me your physical therapy? My shoulder has been bothering me more with the cold weather.. but we can look at the green today, too. If you'll have me. More time to spend together, which he was admittedly excited for.

Looking to the withered plants, it was hard not to wonder what Alivia's plan for them was. They seemed.. pretty dead.

So he was here for her medical services! Alivia tried not to look too excited, but she was honestly thrilled for any distraction from this pitiful garden.

"Sure!" She recalled their last conversation about his shoulder. She'd meant to examine it, but he had run off before she'd had the chance. He seemed to have a habit of doing that.

"Under one condition. Once we get started, no running off. I'll say when we're done." Her eyes danced playfully. Surely Cinar was aware of his own habit of abruptly disappearing. Alivia felt like she'd hardly had a chance to get to know him, since he always seemed to be rushing off to some new task.

He was caught off-guard by her condition, but the playful look in her eyes was enough to reassure him. You'll have my full attention. He had taken care of the rest of the day's tasks, nothing else would pull him from Alivia today. But have I been that bad? He chuckled, sitting himself down. He knew well that he probably was.

The sun was still high in the sky, and it wouldn't be dark for some time. They wouldn't need to rush today.

Yet Cinar couldn't help his curiosity, eager to start. So, what's first? He had tried to take his guesses, but with only Alivia's brief descriptions.. it was hard to feel confident. Maybe that was the fun of it.

RE: you're mine - Alivia - October 04, 2025

"But have I been that bad?"

Alivia's only answer to that was a raised brow and knowing smile.

"First, we'll tackle your mental stress. It's causing physical tension in your body, which increases pain." Just from the way he moved, Alivia could see how tightly wound he was. He seemed to be the kind of wolf who took pride in being in control of himself at all times. Self-control wasn't a bad thing of course, but a wolf needed to know how to relax too.

"We're going to build a happy place in your mind's eye." She moved so that she was seated directly beside him. "It can be a place you've been before, or you can build it from scratch."

Alivia closed her eyes to encourage him to do the same. She talked him through each piece, instructing him to add sights, smells, sounds, and feelings to his mental space. She wondered what kind of place Cinar was visualizing. He was under no obligation to tell her, but the curiosity was there.

"Okay, take a breath and open your eyes." She smiled. "The more you practice visualizing that space, the easier it will be to find it when you need it to manage physical or emotional pain."

She took her own cleansing breath. "And that's lesson one!" What would he think? She worried that meditation might be a little too woo-woo for a practical wolf like Cinar to appreciate.

RE: you're mine - Cinar - October 04, 2025

Cinar was never one to consider himself stressed.. but with how he held himself, he knew that he likely was the cause of much of his own tension. Following her instructions, he shut his eyes.

His desert home, the smell of his mother close by, his sisters gossiping, Kemal and Narin discussing names for their children. Leandros and his father are too far to reach the image he has built. He feels content.

The picture is familiar, pretty, until it is covered by the jaws of a fangless snake shooting for him. Cinar's eyes shoot open, startled, but he covers it with an exhale.

He manages to smile, tail thumping. That was quite pleasant. He decides. He had quite enjoyed it until the end.

RE: you're mine - Alivia - October 16, 2025

Alivia beamed.

"I'm glad you liked it!" Maybe he was just being polite, but Alivia would choose to believe she was making a positive difference for the man who spent so much of his time helping others in the pack.

"If you're up for it, I'll show you some stretches you can practice on your own that will help that shoulder." There was a lot more to her style of medicine than just the woo-woo mental gymnastics, and she was eager to share it with Cinar.

Alivia led him through some gentle stretches, watching him carefully and taking note of his current range of motion.

RE: you're mine - Cinar - October 19, 2025

Cinar followed the instructions provided, and his flexibility was quite good with the exception of his injured leg. He was quite tall (though it was more just leggy), so it was no wonder that it was put to use.

Am I doing this properly? He managed to ask through a soft laugh, feeling somewhat awkward when he was put off balance. Though he had to admit, even if it was uncomfortable in the moment he did feel a sense of relief afterwards.

RE: you're mine - Alivia - November 07, 2025

"Yeah, you're a natural!" she reassured him with a laugh.

Every now and then, she moved toward him to make small corrections in his posture, her paws gliding gently and deftly over his sleek coat. Honestly though, there was very little to correct. Cinar was a keenly perceptive individual, and after watching Alivia demonstrate once, he executed each stretch and pose with near-perfection.

One might suggest that she simply wanted to touch him; to let her paws graze over the golden fur that slashed his inky shoulders, and run them along the gilded track that disappeared into the small of his back.

However, Alivia would never admit to such unprofessional thoughts.

"That can be all for today," she allowed, pleased that Cinar had kept his word and hadn't run off to some other pressing obligation. She wondered if he might feel better simply from slowing down for a few minutes.

"I'm going to start leading a group here in the morning, for stretching and meditation. I could use your help with some demonstrations, if you want to stop by every now and then. You make a great model."

She grinned hopefully.

RE: you're mine - Cinar - November 25, 2025

He had to admit, at least to himself, that he was enjoying their time together. He could have purred as she ran her paws over his back.

But, he would have to wait for more. They were done for today.

I'll come. He promised. I'd like us to spend more time together, so I don't see why I shouldn't. Cinar would make it a new habit; before his morning patrols he would make his way here.

RE: you're mine - Alivia - December 04, 2025

"Excellent!"

Alivia grinned, glad to know that her morning sessions would include at least one eager participant. The opportunity to spend more time together was a definite plus.

They parted ways, and Alivia watched her patient disappear back into the wider Caldera. Maybe she was just imagining it, but Cinar did appear to be moving with just a bit more lightness in his step.

With a satisfied huff, Alivia turned back in toward her medicine den, trying to recall what she had been doing before Cinar's most welcome interruption.
