You can't keep them all caged - Haedwig - September 25, 2025 Haedwig had made her way into the weald searching for her next treasure; wild garlic. Her search had become more urgent as the weeks went on; the plants wouldn't stay perky for much longer, and she still needed to find a poppy. Hobbling along of her aching bones, the universe must have sense her urgency.. because this time she came upon what she was looking for almost immediately. Tail waving like a pleased pup, she immediately began to pull up the strong smelling route. Anybody nearby wouldn't be quick to thank her, that's for sure. She had dropped the feverfew and thyme in a den, finally. The garlic would surely attract attention when she brought it back there.. but hopefully the smell would be undesireable enough to keep others away. That was the whole point, after all. RE: You can't keep them all caged - Easy - October 01, 2025 Though she'd planned to stick around Beau for the length of her heat, Easy had gotten bored of it before too long had passed. If a few days hadn't done the trick, then surely, it just wasn't meant to be! So she'd gone her own way, neatly dodging her male relations for the time being — just to avoid any awkward encounters. She wandered the weald, remembering the day that Dutch and Simbelmyne's children had been born here. She'd come to wish them well, but hadn't been able to stay long. So many things had fallen apart since then, as was often the way of things, but as far as Easy knew, Dutch had stuck by his wife. "I hope you can see him, Adi," she said, looking off toward the ocean instead of up at the sky, where she might usually address words to the dead. "He's just like you, sometimes. All the good things, and some of the bad, too — but just like you, it only makes me love him more." Her own scent eclipsed the scent of another. She was entirely unaware that she was alone until she wandered into the exact clearing that the woman occupied. The strong scent of garlic mixed unpleasantly with heady scent of her season. "You aren't going to eat that, are you?" she asked, saying the first thing that came to mind. RE: You can't keep them all caged - Haedwig - October 01, 2025 Haedwig was almost peppy as she worked, until she was hit by the scent of another woman's heat. She gagged almost instantly, much preferring the scent of garlic. She lifted her head as the woman spoke to her, Haedwig staring with a furrowed brow. She felt sure that they were near the same age, though Haedwig knew well that she appeared older. No. I'm going to roll in it.She couldn't imagine why anyone would willingly eat the garlic - nobody would go near you with that breath. You smell horrible. Don't you have the sense to hole yourself up? It seemed like common sense to Haedwig. Heat scent had a tendency to send more impulsive women, especially those who were young, into aggressive outbursts. RE: You can't keep them all caged - Easy - October 01, 2025 It was a woman close to her own age, though in truth, Easy did immediately judge herself the younger of the two. Her nose wrinkled at the intention the woman declared, and she immediately thought of her father — Grayday Sr. had always enjoyed a good roll in something smelly — something Easy was pleased enough not to have inherited. "So will you," she replied, dryly, though she understood what the woman meant. As such, she kept her distance. "Why should I hole myself away?" she asked the stranger. She was large enough, she thought, to contend with the best of them. This had never failed her in the past, at least. And she was cross at the mere suggestion that there was someone bigger and tougher than her out there, even if she knew, logically, that there must be. She'd met them, actually, and she was sure she'd one day meet more. Still. She did whatever she wanted, always, and she had never, ever in her life wanted to hole herself away. RE: You can't keep them all caged - Haedwig - October 01, 2025 That's the point.Making yourself repulsive was a more useful tool than most seemed to realize. As for her question, Haedwig thought it was strange of her to even ask. You look old. You smell old.She knew the irony of her saying such a thing. I've seen the younger one's around here, think they won't bite just because you're an elder? It felt strange to be lecturing a woman just as ancient as she was. Nobody likes a sex-crazed grandma, though. Though, Haedwig was also approaching with the impression that the stranger didn't want children. She couldn't understand the appeal of it, pregnancy was so risky in old age. RE: You can't keep them all caged - Easy - October 01, 2025 Easy rolled a shoulder, unconcerned. "Old just means I've lived through plenty enough to know what I can take," she replied, annoyed with the rhetoric. "Besides — I've seen very few youngsters running around. Most seem to have moved on." She ought to know. Many of the ones that had been around the last time she'd been here had been her own, in one way or another. And of the ones that were left, she felt she could lay claim to a fair few. "But the ones that are left are welcome to try me," she went on, swishing her tail in satisfaction — and to spread her detestable scent around the woman's garlic-hunting clearing. "I'll leave you to your garlic." Easy turned to leave. RE: You can't keep them all caged - Haedwig - October 01, 2025 If Haedwig was any younger of any less arthritic, she would have lunged to tear her a new hole in that pretty pelt. Today, she would have to settle for thinking, silently to herself, that the stranger was a total harlot. Well, worse than that, but I'd have to mark this as mature. She grunted, taking the garlic she had dug up and going on her way. If Haedwig had her way, she would never see that old hussy again. |
