She'd dawdled quite a bit getting here, mostly at the behest of her young sons. They were still so rowdy, and though she loved them for it, she'd hoped that the trip would somehow mellow them out a bit. Quite the opposite had happened.
She was not sure if @Blue Ridge still followed, but she howled now to let him know where she was, and to let Katmai and Kindle hear her voice as well, and with the faint hope that Valiant might hear and recognize her, too.
Then she sat down by an old, long-abandoned den and wept.
It had been a good, long while since she'd felt the ache of losing her father so strongly.
