The small cache was growing. Panacea tended it daily, adding small kills and sorting out the meat that was beginning to spoil. He ate those morsels himself; a small self-punishment, though for what he wasn't sure. For existing, perhaps.He was dropping off a skinny desert hare when an unfamiliar scent drifted to him on the wind. Another packmate he didn't know yet. Panacea went still, ears lifting as his gaze turned toward the source of the scent. Searching; dreading the moment he would have to introduce himself and try to remember how to act normal.

Safiya had seen the red wolf, tiny and thin tending nearby caches. But she hadn't approached. Why should she? It wasn't that she found him lesser than. She simply didn't know how to talk to anyone anymore. So long she had held her own counsel. Had sought revenged and redemption and had lost both. Here she was adrift, a warrior without a cause.
She blinked when the creature came into view. A tilt of her ear, singular eye falling on teh creature and staring. Her stare as always fathomless.
