i didn't know i was lonely til i saw your face - Grayday - November 04, 2025
The marshland opened up into flat loamy fields, and Grayday felt he could breathe properly for the first time in days. Exhausted and streaked with dried mud through his grey furs, he darted out from the treeline to feel the breeze properly through his pelt. He still felt all damp and stale from the swamp. The fresh air was nice, though.
After a time he slowed to a halt, lifting his head to take in his surroundings more fully. The bright light of high noon illuminated the flat terrain. It was all plains and clumps of grass for miles, as far as he could tell. He knew, at least, which direction he wasn't going to go. So he set off in the opposite direction entirely, unwittingly heading for the sea.
