shani didn't leave the camp that her husband self set up. there's no need to; he'd promised to scout that early morning whilst she made base with the kill he provided. but now it was dusk.
a chill from the wind would creep up and take hold of her spine, wrapping through the tendons of her neck. her breath, quiet, came out in hot puffs of air.
she did have a caribou hide that she kept close. this prairie reminded her of home. her farm. oh, how she missed it. she'd made sure takota knew that, but of course, yet she still came with him. tethered. lovesick? no. maybe.
shani worked intently, mulling over her thoughts of bad decisions (takota included?), sun setting behind her back as she nipped at stray, matted furs and plucked them to the grasses below.
