snow - Skyfalll - December 07, 2025

It was cold in the den. Skyfall only understood this when he moved away from where his father slumbered, up toward the light that he'd recently discovered.

His eyes were open. Bright blue. He didn't know when that had happened. Things were so new to him, over and over each and every day, that the shock of seeing things was mundane in its novelty. He felt as though he'd always been able to see, and yet he'd never seen the light before.

The light was the mouth of the den. He was half-waddling, half dragging himself toward it. Why shouldn't he?

He did not know that it was snowing outside, and that his little body needed to be kept warm. He knew only that his mother had exited through the light sometime before.

"Sky," a voice rumbled behind him.

Skyfall ignored this voice, and the sigh that followed, and continued trying to scrabble toward the den's entrance and, even more unwittingly, fresh white snow.

RE: snow - Chinook - December 08, 2025

Five months of life was so very little of one. Three years even, though this wasn't even to the point which the girl's parents had lived. Young wolves with young pups and yet so much had already befallen the new leaders of Moonglow. So much had Chinook and her sister already grown. Her eyes had changed. She was growing more and more by the week! Her milk teeth dropped (half swallowed) and she not only ate the food of the adults, but would linger along in her runs when they hunted. She studied her on her interest of herbs and now, now, something new had grasped her attention - Raindrop and Valiant's pups.

Chinook's body wriggled on the snow as it freshly fell around her. Her pale head sticking into the opening of the den, yet remaining outside out of respect for comfort and space. Hey there. One pup speaking to the younger one. He was fluffy and round, colored in pale cream and sooty gray. I'm Chinook. Chinook, well, didnt really know much about pups and that he couldn't talk back, being still one herself and having only ever known another besides herself being her twin sister.

RE: snow - Valiant - December 09, 2025

Valiant was protective of his sons, as he had been with his daughters. He was wary even if Chinook just out of instinct — but he knew Arrluk and Ajei to be gentle souls, and he could only believe the same of their two extremely well-behaved daughters.

"He can't talk just yet," he said to the girl, his voice soft so as not to disturb White Bear or Valor. "His name's Skyfall."

He regarded her gravely for a moment before saying, "You can come in and meet them. Just mind you don't use your teeth. They're real delicate this young."

The boy had been hesitant at first, confused and wary at the appearance of a stranger. But as she and his father spoke, he found his nerve once more and approached the smiling face.

As if he'd understood his father's words and wanted to act in defiance of them, he pounced at the girl's face and tried to gnaw on the bridge of her nose. His tiny, wriggly body had little ability to grip, though, and he could be easily dislodged.

Though his jaw strength was similarly weak, his teeth were still sharp.

RE: snow - Chinook - December 09, 2025

A voice came from within the den and Chinook peered beyond the fuzzy little pup to see the great big shadow of a father in the gloom. It almost scared her out of her skin, quite frankly, revealed by the little jerk Chinook gave when he spoke up.

Oh yeah, that's right... Chinook didnt remember not being able to talk ever, but she did remember not being able to say some things when Ahna could. A frustration which had been enough to stick with her memory.

Okay, I wont... She spoke lowly, having quick understanding. They were too little for her to rough-house with unlike how she could with her sister. She would need to save that for when they were older.

Soon enough as Chinook began to slink into the den with her belly close to the earth, did the little Skyfall jump on her face, tiny piercing teeth racking along her muzzle. Oh! She gave surprise. Ow! When she realized that even if she was told not to use her teeth, he certainly used his!

Her head lifted up and back, so the pup might slide and slump back onto the den floor. So much for keeping the others asleep.
