antonym - Katmai - December 08, 2025

@Kira Lazore and @Kinusi are with him! Hoping for any pack members to accept gifts.
They'd hunted in the valley before they came to the borders. The young buck wasn't much in the grand scheme of things, but it had felt wrong to approach the borders with empty jaws. On that note — Kira carried with her a bundle of bearberries, which grew rampant on the sea-facing side of their mountain.

He and Kinusi dragged the carcass. It would no longer make a good pelt, but the meat was still fresh and tender. There was little else to be done. He cast one last look at Kinusi, inviting her to call with him when he tipped back his head to howl.

He settled in to wait, knowing that they likely had more pressing matters at hand than a trio of visitors.

RE: antonym - Towhee - December 08, 2025

Cameo!

She hated it here.

Towhee skulked along the highest ridge-line, glowering at her surroundings. If she’d thought her resentment would pass, she had been sorely mistaken. She loathed every inch of this godforsaken territory right now, even the Hobbit Hole. It was past time to head back there and relieve her babysitter, yet the Elder couldn’t stand the thought of it.

Fuck this place, she thought sourly, planting her feet and casting a particularly odious look at the caldera down below. She let the hatred flow freely through her veins, in the hope that it would gradually leech from her. After all, Towhee was tethered here, whether or not she found it unbearable.

Her gaze swept to the other side of the slope, a little huff of surprise escaping her when she saw a trio of wolves lingering at the borderline below. Towhee squinted at them, her heart dipping when she saw no pup trailing at their feet. It was ludicrous to hope, though the Elder couldn’t much help that instinctive beat of yearning before her logical mind could overrule it.

“Someone will be with you shortly,” she howled to the party before turning away from them and dipping down the interior slope.

Gritting her teeth, Towhee headed back to the Hobbit Hole. She would notify @Killdeer and Amalia of the visitors, then head inside to sulk sit with her daughters.
