Calfuray had gone ahead of Shrike in search of a meal. She was in the mood to scavenge rather than hunt, and the base of a mountain seemed like a good enough spot to search.
Silent except for the occasional clink of the dead radio collar, she walked with her nose to the ground hoping for a scent that told her something edible was nearby. She hadn't managed to find a trail just yet.
Pausing, Calfuray stilled at the sound of crunching snow behind her. Had Shrike followed without her noticing, or was someone else here with similar goals? For the sake of her getting back quickly, she hoped it was the former.
