Etienne hummed a sea shanty under his breath. He worked his paws over the ground. Claws adn teeth and water, leaving at the edges. Mind wandering to the wolves that lived in this small pack. He had not met many, and he had not sought out many. He was anxious. But he was also finding a purpose again.
For too long he had been adrift. he had fought and failed and fought again. He had tried to go back to the sea, but she wouldn't take him. She had taken too much, she had to give. And so she gave him back again and again. And it infuriated him.
he did not want to remain where his family was not. he did not want the broken, beating thing in his chest. He wanted, silence. He wanted peace. He wanted things he could not have. Things that couldn't return.
