Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Sen - January 20, 2015 Here we go. c: @Shalon
Meeting wolves right after they'd been accepted into the pack was not something Sen had ever done. In fact, she was often away when such things came about, and then never took the time to actually grow acquainted with said wolves, unless they happened to cross paths by chance. It was unknown why she did such things, and she was sure to never explain herself. It was the idea of newcomers that made her stick around a bit longer, though, even after she'd explored as much as she was ready to in a single go. The dark woman had met one of the newer members, a young boy who allowed her to call him Tok, as his full name was much too long for her to bother with, but that was it. Even then, it had been a chance encounter, but not one she regretted. Now, there the woman was once more, trotting along through the territory. She'd considered hunting something down, but her lack of hunger made her dismiss that idea nearly the exact second it'd formed. Instead, she ended up deciding on giving the borders a once over, curious to see what she would be able to find, or perhaps even who. The raven coated female trotted along the border at a moderate pace, not needing to go fast, nor overly slow, and simply took in all the sights and scents of the area. It was a fresh smell, as snowy places usually were, and she enjoyed every breath she breathed because of it. The scents of other wolves lingered all around too, of course, but she blocked those out. None held a scent that didn't belong to the Glacier, so she didn't need to be concerned over them. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Shalon - January 20, 2015 Thank you!!
Shalon had not wandered far from the boreder, instead choosing to venture along the edge before envitablly wandering further into the land she hoped would become home. Her mind wandered as she explored the edge of this territory, so absorbed was she that Shalon only just happened to stumble on the scent of one she had not meet. She wasnt sure of the exact number within this pack, and she wasn't sure how her presence would affect them or how they would affect her in return. Pausing mid stride Shalon lifted her amber gaze, searching for the person with which the scent belonged. Her orbs landed on the edony female, her dark fur a stark contrast to the snow that surrounded them. Shalon waited seeing if the women before her wished for solitude or perhaps would welcome the newest addition. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Sen - January 20, 2015 You're welcome. :3
With the sense of a gaze falling upon her form, Sen was pulled from her own mind and thrown back into the real world. Shaking her head, she gave the area a glance all around, but it didn't take long before her own amber gaze met with a similar one. She'd never seen the wolf before, but she didn't appear to be a loner. A newer member, perhaps, or simply a member she'd never met. It wouldn't be a surprise to Sen if the wolf had been there longer than she thought, for the darker being hadn't gone out to meet and greet all of the members of the pack. The female spoke no words to Soot, leaving her to do nothing but cast a question look. Swiftly, the distance between them was closed, but Sen stopped a little ways off in order to keep some room between them. The darkest of the two said nothing at first, she just stood there and analyzed the other being. She took in her form, the way she held herself, and met the posture with a more laid back one of her own. “Are you mute or something?” They were the first words to leave her mouth, and they held a sarcastic undertone to them. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Shalon - January 20, 2015 sorry for the crappy post. im on my mobile
As the female approached her, Shalon remained in her spot, a calm collectedness about her. Her ears perked forward listening to the words spoken. An amused smirk grew across her face, and a small snort made itself known. "No, I am not mute." Shalons amusement evident in her tone. "Merely... Cautious shall we say, am I wrong to be slightly weary of you?" We smirked in return, knowing that she herself was strong enough to be awarded the wearyness of an unknown canine. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Sen - January 20, 2015 “Weary of me?” Sen repeated, feigning hurt and shock. “Now, I wouldn't harm a fly. No need to be weary.” While it was true she'd never actually physically attacked anyone, tongue was sharp and her words were quite the weapon. She made her way around the other female, inspecting her more closely as she circled her twice, then came to a stop in front of her. Sen was occasionally weary of those she met in her journeys, but on the Glacier she was not. Her arrogance was there and coming off in waves, and it was clear she thought overly high of herself by the way her head was kept up high. Had the night fallen before they met, her head would have been kept low in order to hide the patch of white on her chest, but there was no point in such an action while the sun was high. “Tell me, what are you doing here, Patches?” Once again, Sen found herself naming a wolf based on how they appeared. It was a bit childish, but she didn't care too much about that. Actually, she didn't care at all. It sometimes got under the skin of others, so she enjoyed doing it. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Shalon - January 20, 2015 Shalon was slightly skeptical, although she did dip her head in consideration, "I am sorry if I have judged you to harshly, I have learned never to underestimate another." She admired, a slight wince as she thought of the one unfortunate time she had underestimated an opponent. Shalon stay routed in her place as the wolfess appraised her. What are you doing here patches? Shalon tilted her head in confusion, as the noir coated woman came to a halt in front of her. Before looking along her own fur, turning her head to the right and then to the left, before a slight laugh left her maw. "Patches?" She chuckled, "I was trying to get aquainted with the place I now call ... home" Shalon hesitated slightly. Her posture had relaxed now that she had conversed slightly with the other fem. Sitting back on her haunches, "And what brings you to the edge of the territory, Noir." She added her own nickname on the end, with a lopsided smile. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Sen - January 21, 2015 “You really needn't apologize,” Sen stated, a grin making it's way across her face. “Underestimating another is a silly thing to do, even if they've assure you they are of no threat.” Her words were nothing more than a bit of advice, though she did nothing to show that. The dark being wasn't one to just attack out of nowhere, having found that doing something like that creates unnecessary messes—and those were messes she despised the cleaning of. Sen quirked an eyebrow at the other female as she called the Glacier home, ignoring the bit of hesitance that had appeared in her voice. “Home, huh?” She allowed her eyes to leave the other woman for only a second as she gazed around at their surroundings. “Should explore more inside the territory, then. There's not much to see at these borders.” That was only a slight bit of the truth. Had the other joined sooner, and hung around the borders, she would have had the chance of seeing some older male dancing. It was quite the sight to behold, and the living shadow knew it would stay permanently engraved into her mind forever. On the other hand paw, Sen was glad no one had been there to witness it, for the sight would have ended up being rather embarrassing. She gave a smirk to the lady when she called Sen 'Noir', as if to mentally say touché. “I'm am here because I'm going out on a small journey for a bit,” she answered. “I have explored the territory enough for a few days, and wanted to head out to see some new things again.” Soot often left to go and explore, but she always came back in the end. She couldn't stay away from the Glacier forever, and hadn't been able to since joining the pack. Something about the giant block of ice called out to her, preventing her form staying away for too long. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Shalon - January 21, 2015 Shalon nodded her head, agreeing with the words of the other fae. She had to become accustom to saftey in numbers once more. The length of time she spent alone conditioned her to the solitary life, a rouge life that was often met with violence if one was not careful enough. At least that is what she had experienced in her previous home, in her previous life. Making a mental note to relax, Shalon returned to the land of the living after her reminising finding that the wolf she had dubbed Noir was still in fact speaking. A mental shake refocused her mind to the conversation. "I thought that perhaps knowing the edge of the territory would allow me time to become comfortable enough to meet the rest of the pack. It is rather nerve racking, at least it is for me. Never been much of a socialite..." Shalon drifted off, a shrug like ripple making it's way through her pelt. "A journey, you say? One of exploration? Perhaps I shall join you on one of your adventures one day. Once I have thoroughly explored your...our own territory, and I find my paws itching for adventure once more. If you would accept my company at a later date that is?" Shalon had had enough adventuring for sometime, the last year one of constant travel, it was a hard way to live and she would not be leaving for another adventure before she could truly call this land home. But perhaps one day, if she could find a friend as a travelling companion the experience would be rather more enjoyable. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Sen - January 22, 2015 “Hm, never thought of doing that,” Sen commented in regards to her reasoning for learning the border before anything else. “To me, it's best to just jump in head first and hope no one tears off your ear in the process.” She flashed a toothy grin as she said the last part, finding her own words to hold some humor to them. It had been clear from birth that the obsidian color wolf was not to be an overly social one, and it showed in how she dealt with others as an adult. Sarcastic, rude at times, more than often cocky. Still, though, working her way into the territory had never crossed her mind. She'd just jumped right in, stuck around for a bit, then went out to explore the Wilds. Every so often she would come back, and each time she had new experiences to share with no one. Then, 'Patches' surprised her enough to send her grin away. The female had actually offered to join the arrogant woman on one of her journeys away, and she didn't know how to respond at first. It was anew thing—a new experience. Oh, how Sen liked the idea of new things. Such a thought made her regain her composure as quick as it had gone, and plastered a new grin across her face. “If you think you'll be up for it sometime, then feel free to join me whenever,” she answered, a bit of excitement showing in her amber orbs. Excitement for something new to happen, for someone to eventually join her on one of her adventures out of the land they called home. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Shalon - February 01, 2015 Shalon grinned along with her, she had always been someone that most could get along with. She prided herself as such, it was what had saved her life countless times since her birth. She now found that it was a skill that could be used as a means of companionship, rather than just a life saver. Her smile never left even as the other female paused sligthly at her offer, the obsidian female seemed hesitant. Shalon wasn't sure why, but she thought that perhaps this women had little people to travel with or perhaps none had offered, but Shalon gave it little thought, she was currently to tried and would hold 'Noir' back from truly exploring. "I will hold you to that Noir, perhaps on your next adventure?" Shalon's grin grew, excited for the path ahead. RE: Breath in the Fresh Scent of Snow - Sen - February 04, 2015 Mar. 3rd Edit; faded it off with Sen leaving to tie this thread up.
She pondered the offer of attending her on her next adventure, but in the end she simply gave a shake of her head. “I am heading out very soon,” Sen informed her, though she did not go into detail as to when she was leaving or where she'd be going. “You still wish to explore here, so perhaps we could go on a journey together once I return from my next?” Whether the other agreed or not was of little concern, really, as the dark being would leave to travel with or without the company of another. There were few times where she hadn't been lucky enough to find someone to speak with or learn from during her travels, so while it was nice to know that another being was interesting in moving about with her, she didn't believe it to be an absolutely necessary thing. Though her mind assured her journeying with another was not something needed entirely, deep down Sen knew it not to be true. She was a wolf, after all, and wolves were social beings—most of them, anyways. Whether the sooty woman enjoyed the fact or not, she was a social creature. Going all around to see new places and learn new things could, in theory, be seen as a way for her to try and make new 'friends', or whatever they wanted to refer to themselves as. She couldn't change that fact even if she tried to. The thoughts of such things were quick to bring something to mind. It was time for the darker woman to go off once again, and she wished to leave immediately. "All this talk of traveling has me wishing to leave now," she stated, turning as she did so. "I'm going to head off. Maybe we'll cross paths again after I return." Or, maybe not, she couldn't see the future. All she could see was the path ahead of her, and she took that path without so much as a second glance to the other girl. |
