somewhere out there - Roadkill - February 04, 2015

aw :-)

After the truck had fallen, Roadkill hadn't stuck with the majority of dogs that had escaped from the accident. She knew that there was no way that the other dogs would be of much use. The only thing that could salvage her soul was a good human. She didn't know where to find one, or if it was possible at all; after all, with her luck, she would just find another horrible human, like all of her previous ones. As a matter of fact, the humans of the place of cages were probably some of the better ones. Better than the ones she used to know, anyway.

While her stomach rumbled furiously, Roadkill took pause near a lake. She observed her surroundings and turned her head so that she could see on her blind right side (there was a gaping, scarred hole where her eye had once been). Then, when Roadkill felt more or less secure that she was alone, she dipped her head down to the water to take a sip.

The shadow wove his way through the trees, silver eyes shining in excitment. He had finally latched on to a single scent, the one he had learned was dog. As the huge brute crouched in the shadows, he stared at the figure drinking from a lake. Now, how to play this? He wanted to have some fun with the pitiful creature. He stalked silently from the shadows, stopping a mere foot from the thing. "What are you doing here, dog" he snarled at her. The huge night pelted warrior shoved his ears forward and his tail high. This creature was stupid if she didn't submit to him.

Even though she was pretty sure that everything was fine when she leaned down to nip from the water, when she lifted her head again, Roadkill heard a voice. Her mangled stub of an ear turned back to listen, but she heard nothing. When she turned round to face the owner of the voice, Roadkill figured it was just another dog or, by the looks of it, wolfdog. Its agressive stature made her feel on edge, and instinctively she bared her teeth to let it know he wouldn't get away without a scar or two if he decided to move in.

As she turned her head to face the aggressive wolfdog, Roadkill's missing right eye was visible, as were the many scars running over her face. She hadn't come here for a chat, or she would've just stayed with the other herd of pathetic ole' dogs, but she supposed she wasn't going to get away from one now. It was rude not to answer a disrespectful asshat's question's, after all, is what it was. "Takin' a drink, mate. What's it look like Oi'm doin', ey?" There were no signs of humour on the beagle's face as she said this, looking up at the aggressive wolfdog without a speck of humour, or fear.

To his surprise, the little canine bared it's teeth at him. Shocked, he almost missed her response. She was either extremely stupid or very brave, and by her short sentence he guessed the latter. His silver eyes narrowed in hate, and he huge brute took a step toward the scarred fae. "You have no idea where you are." He said softly, calmly. "Only a litle way from here is a highly dangerous pack, where assasins and warriors would not hesitate to kill a dog like yourself. I suggest you watch your step, pup."

Roadkill licked her lips, slobbering in the last drops of water loudly. She glanced at the water, eager to take another sip, but deciding that she'd had enough for the moment. A sip of water didn't seem worth risking another couple o' scars for. When the wolfdog took a step forward and spoke again, Roadkill remained still. He was right; she had no idea where she was, at all. She knew little about packs, but she knew stuff about warriors, even though assassins were a fairly new thing to her.

Another thing she noted was that he called her 'a dog like yourself'. She wasn't sure what that meant, but sure as heck didn't intend to ask. Roadkill chuffed and said, "Good thing Oi ran into you 'ere, then, innit, to warn me 'bout 'em like the good chap you are." There was an irresistible itch along Roadkill's right ear, but she resisted the temptation to scratch it. Didn't seem like the brightest idea at the moment.

Crescendo laughed chillingly. "If I where a dog, I certainly wouldn't call a meeting with a huge wolf ' a good thing'" he smirked. The dark prince had never been called 'good chap', and the name didn't quite fit with the others. Nightmare, Silver-eyes, Good chap...no, it just didn't fit. Crescendo circled the fae slowly, never taking his eyes of it. "How did a dog end up in the land of the wolves?" he asked her, a hint of real curiosity entering his voice.

"Good thing you ain't, then, innit?" All this chatter confused Roadkill bits and pieces, since she'd never heard of wolves. She knew wolfdogs, alright, but this one wasn't quite like that. With unblinking eyes, she studied the stranger as he circled her, trying to be all menacing. Roadkill shook her head, her floppy left ear batting against the side of her head, and her tongue lolled from her mouth.

Roadkill didn't really care to tell her life story of how she ended up here. Maybe that was a thing around here, but it certainly wasn't her thing. "Eh," she said nonchalantly, "Not sure it's anythin' you'd understand. Oi mean, you look like a fightin' dog, but you act like a wild dog, an' by the looks of your face all you really want is to get my knickers in a bunch rather 'n know the answers to my questions." Roadkill's expression remained unblinking. She hoped that the other wolf wasn't eager to attack, or would take offence in her words, but considering how much offence he seemed to take in her mere being here, she didn't think any word she said would pull a trigger she wouldn't otherwise have pulled, anyway.

For the first time in his life, Crescendo felt confused. His brow furrowed, and his thoughts turned into ones of interest rather then ones of bloodlust. Against his better nature, it seemed he would not be killing the strange thing today. "Fighting dog? Wild dog?" Crescendo asked, a note of some emotion in his voice. He absent mildly carved something into the earth beneath his paws, thinking. "You've never heard of wolves, have you?" he asked her incredibly. He sat beside the dog, thinking that this one looked a tiny bit like a fox. "And don't you have something to do with the furless beings?" he asked her. He had always dismissed the tales of the furless as myth, but now he wasn't sure. As he spoke, another part of his mind turned a dark idea over and over in it, considering.

Roadkill didn't really fancy the idea of this wolfdog chap sitting down next to her, and she remained standing as he sat, finding it the smarter idea to stand ready to run if need be. She wasn't so sure she'd outrun the fellow, but, well, she knew a dirty trick or two that'd ensure he wouldn't be thinking of following her right off the bat.

It seemed that the wolfdog was enticed by her stories, though, wanted to know more now. "Wolfdogs, Oi know 'em," said Roadkill. "One of my owners had a bunch of woldogs, 'e did. Agressive lot, closer to wild dogs 'n fightin' dogs if y'ask me." Still thirsty, Roadkill licked her lips and looked at the wolfdog. "Furless beings? Y'don't mean owners, do you?" That's all Roadkill had ever known them as, anyway, the furless two-legged beings. Owners. Good 'n bad ones, but in her case, mostly bad ones.

RE: somewhere out there - Crescendo - February 07, 2015

"Owners" Crescendo mumbled. "Wolfdogs?" Wait. A noble wolf had fucked one of these dogs and there had been pups? Crescendo was astonished. How...he didn't want to think about it. He had had enough of this strange conversation. He snarled and leaned in close to the dog. "The ones living here are not wolfdogs, pup. This is wolf land, and wolves are 10 times worst then your soft wolfdogs." he spat. he turned heel and walked soundlessly back into the cover of the forest. "You'll last a week, if you're lucky, mutt." He vanished back into the shadows, returning to his pack. The thing had been lucky Crescendo hadn't killed it.

Roadkill wasn't too intimidated by the wolf, who seemed to talk tall but didn't have the balls to follow through with things. He seemed insulted at the notion of woldogs, though Roadkill didn't understand why. She calmly watched him before he decided to take the insult serious and leave.

Roadkill shrugged, took another sip, and turned and left then, deciding he was a coward who wasn't worth her time. She was better off taking another sip of water before looking for a way to get herself some food.
