adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Nesaea - February 24, 2015

All welcome!

The more time that she spent getting acquainted with all the scents and sights of their new home, Nesaea found herself less nervous about her being here, her cold exterior warming ever so slightly. The presence of her twin and mother helped, too. The girl still kept her wits about her, though, cautious around the foreigners, especially the consorts — even go so far as to outright avoid them if she encountered one. She despised their kind. And she was still uncertain of Caiaphas, the Queen had a strange look to her that set the hairs on Nesaea's neck on end.

The sea was calm today, the waves reaching out to the shore to touch the girl's toes before returning. It was a lulling pattern, the sound pulling Nesaea into a trance as she trailed the shoreline, looking for any sort of treasures she could find. If there was one positive thing about moving here, it was the chance to find new oddities that the Mother only wished to leave here at the Sound.

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Wynter Wolf - February 24, 2015

Wynter trotted over as she spotted one of the three new sisters that had joined the pack recently by the waters edge. She had been trying to learn their names and get to know them for now they were her packmates and she took it upon herself to get to know each one at least a little bit. She flanked the silver coloured fae and sat down at the waters edge looking out over the water. "Nice day isn't it?" she said as she glanced over at the wolf beside her.

Wynter looked down as some of the water rolled onto her paws. Water wasn't her favourite thing ever although she was a pretty decent swimmer. She shifted backwards a little to avoid anymore water getting on her paws. I must look like a fool, being on the beach so much and yet, won't go near the water

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Nesaea - February 28, 2015

Flicking an ear, Nesaea looked up as she was joined by a lithe female the colour of sand and earth, with warm eyes to match. She greeted her, taking her place by the water but skittering backwards slightly as the waves sought to wash over her toes. The girl's gaze narrowed at the other's behaviour, unaware of her discomfort with the water. She kept silent however, instead continuing to prod the wet sand with her nose as she searched for treasures.

"It is," she replied softly, her lack of eye contact with the other betraying her shyness. She wished for her mother's confidence. Despite the amicable stranger being a fellow sister of the Sound, Nesaea struggled to find the right words to say.

Wynter glanced over at this silver coloured wolf. She wasn't sure what she was searching for nosing through the sand like that. Perhaps treasures. Hidden beneath the sands surface. "I never got your name?" she said tilting her head slightly. This wolf hadn't made eye contact with her. Perhaps she is shy. She shall not ask many questions just those she felt were important. Like the one about her name. She felt it important to know each wolf by name.

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Nesaea - March 02, 2015

The girl kept her gaze turned towards the sand, staring perhaps a little too intensely as the other siren asked for her name. Her mother would scold her for being so rude, Nesaea was sure. She wouldn't be granted the mercy Callantha received — she was expected to already be polite and becoming towards the sisters of the Sound. With a quiet inhale, the girl looked up towards the female, catching her friendly amber eyes before quickly sweeping past her and along the stretch of beach.

"Nesaea," she replied with a stiff smile, gaze returning back to the water that washed over her toes. "And yours?"

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Wynter Wolf - March 02, 2015

Wynter waited patiently for the pale grey female to reply. Just then the girl raised her head and put on a very awkward smile. It appeared this wolf perhaps would rather have been left alone. "Nesaea" she replied to Wynter's question. Then the sister asked her name. "Wynter," she replied smiling slightly. "Would you rather me leave, I honestly don't mind if you want to be alone. I don't want to seem like a pest" Wynter muttered looking down at her paws slightly. Yes she was disappointed that this wolf didn't seem to want to talk to her but she couldn't do anything about it. If she wasn't wanted around that was that.

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Nesaea - March 03, 2015

It was common for Nesaea's lack of engagement to come across as cold indifference, as much as she wished it wasn't so. She found herself slightly jealous of Callantha's zeal and talkative nature (at least, when she wasn't sulking); how some wolves managed to speak so much baffled her. Nesaea found herself more of a listener, willing to absorb information from the more charismatic sisters.

She offered a slightly less tense smile at Wynter's apologetic words. She didn't want her to leave — Nesaea was determined to find out all about the Sound, including it's members, and she hadn't encountered another sister besides Caiaphas and the white siren she met at the border. She drew her head upright then, waving her tail gently. "No, stay," she said softly, before quirking an ear towards Wynter as she thought of an idea. "Do you know of any rock pools nearby?"

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Wynter Wolf - March 03, 2015

Wynter listened quietly to the water as she waited for some sort of response from the grey female. When Nesaea said she could stay she couldn't help but smile tail twitching slightly. "Uh no I'm sorry i don't know of any rock pools nearby" Wynter muttered frowning slightly. Perhaps frustrated with her lack of knowledge of the area. She had been here for a month now and still hadn't explored everything there was to see. She knew of the forest and where a few of the caches were and she knew how to get to the glacier borders for she had travelled there with Caiaphas and the others when they were doing a surveillance of the DFG territory. "I'll stay but if i get annoying don't be afraid to tell me to shut up" Wynter said with a small laugh.

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Nesaea - March 06, 2015

A brief flicker of disappointment flashed through Nesaea's eyes, but she tried not to show it. Just because Wynter had no knowledge of rock pools within the Sound didn't mean they didn't exist. She would find some later, either alone or with Leucothoe. It was a sizeable territory, surely there would be some sort of place she could go collecting. The youth wasn't too keen on exploring outside the territory just yet.

When the other siren laughed, Nesaea returned an amused smile of her own, shaking her head. She wouldn't dream of being so rude. She then motioned for Wynter to follow her along the coastline as she searched for treasures, keeping her paws within the shallow waves. "Tell me of the Sound," she started softly, gazing out at the stretch of beach that curved around the territory before ending in a high cliff. It was so secluded and peaceful here. "Is there much conflict?" Well, apart from the upcoming war.

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Wynter Wolf - March 07, 2015

"I don't think so. I mean you know of this upcoming war obviously. Caiaphas is determined to get this pup back. Other than that. I haven't seen much conflict. Some in pack rivalries and maybe the occasional run in with a lone wolf. Those aren't common though." Wynter stated in reply to Nesaea's question.

"It's pretty peaceful here although lately we have had a lot of wolves near the borders or within our territory mostly looking for new homes i guess," she had been there for some of them. None of them seemed to come with ill purpose however.

"What about you? What brought you and your sister's too the sound?" Wynter asked tilting her head slightly.

RE: adorn me in feathers from dead birds - Nesaea - March 21, 2015

Nesaea did not turn when Wynter responded, speaking of the lack of conflict within the Sound, though the mention of the Queen wanting a pup back piqued her interest. The war and it's purpose had been explained to them, of course, but Nesaea was curious about the pup. Was it one of the sisters'? Or was it a male, who should have been killed at birth. Surely the pack would not accept a lost boy into their ranks, even if they were just a child. Though, that was how consorts usually found themselves serving the Nereides.

Disregarding her pondering, the silver girl instead turned to prod at a white shell which poked up from the wet sand. She turned it over gingerly with her muzzle, before pouting slightly as she realised it was half-broken. Damaged things would not do. She glanced up at the tan-furred girl as she continued, and nodded thoughtfully. They would always be welcoming towards fellow sisters who had lost their way.

The question then raised caused Nesaea to pause and straighten up fully, her regal and vain demeanour rearing it's not-so-ugly head. "Our mother, Minthe, she wants to..." the girl faltered, trying to think of a way to word this without insulting the siren. "...guide the Queen." It was obvious the pack had some issues; they had strayed from the true path of the Nereides. "Leucothoe and myself, we're here to serve." And Callantha, to learn. Hopefully.
