the wisps of the forest - Eight - March 13, 2015 @Boone The boy walked through the Great Bear Wilderness with nothing really on his mind. He was just in a daze, as always. He was the kind of guy that believed in magic and spirits. His father had told him stories of great kings that ruled lands. He told them that those great kings fell because of their greed. The lesson was never be greedy. And he wasn't. In fact, he was probably the most selfless wolf he ever knew. He always fought not for his own purposes, but for others. It might get me killed someday. RE: the wisps of the forest - Boone Moyer - March 13, 2015 Boone had chosen a particularly poor time to begin traveling through the Teekon Wilds. Dogs were running rampant in a place predominantly wolf—this he was aware of by scent alone—and he looked so much like a dog, it would only be a matter of time before he ran into trouble. He had been hated throughout his youth for his doggish appearance, but he had always proved himself to be better than the purists; if not physically, then mentally at least. His heavy paws took him deep into a shaded forest area, and he stuck out in the shadows like a dirty ghost. His ears twitched, as he heard the approach of another, and his nose told him it was wolf—male. Boone turned slowly, his bi-gold eyes peering through the dappled light, and into the face of a young loner. The wolfdog tipped his tall head, pinkish ears pressed forward as he quietly surveyed the stranger. It was a moment before he spoke, in a low Southern rasp: "howdy." RE: the wisps of the forest - Eight - March 22, 2015 -Sorry for the late reply! Soon enough, the boy wasn't alone for long. A wolf came into view. He looked peculiar. His structure didn't look like a pure wolf, but there was no need to fuss about it. "Hello sir! My name's Eight. What's yours?" To be honest, he wasn't very fond of his name. He didn't know why he would be named after a number. As a matter of fact, most of his sibling's where named after number. There was no real meaning behind his name, at least he couldn't think of any. RE: the wisps of the forest - Boone Moyer - March 31, 2015 "Boone," he said gruffly, though not unkindly. He didn't think much of the younger male's name. Though this was the first Eight he had met, he had come across other wolves who were named after numbers before. His thin tail wagged marginally, though he wasn't quite sure if this meeting would be fortuitous or not. "I didn't interupt you doin' somethin', did I?" he asked, tilting his flat head slightly and pressing erect ears forward. |
