May Your Sorrows Have a Name - Luka Iva - January 10, 2014
RE: May Your Sorrows Have a Name - Viinturuth Snr - January 12, 2014 It was cold, and bitterly so. But despite this, Viinturuth simply hunched his shoulders and trudged on through the snow, eager to lay his eyes on whatever deer he'd been tracking through the morning hours. He was thankful when it veered deeper into the woodland, where the fierce winds would not chill him to the bone, but was very much anticipating a long day of trailing this lone creature.
When at last he found it, a quick investigation of it from a distance told him that it would not survive long on its own. A small doe, already painfully thin, would not last without the protection of its herd. Quickly slinking into position as the scrawny deer picked and chewed at some tree bark, Viinturuth attacked. Startled, the doe stumbled on exposed evergreen roots and fell, bleating, while the wolf seized her throat between his powerful jaws. He ate his fill and, after doing so, buried some and left the remains for whatever pack-mate may be attracted to the area by the scent of blood. Back in Samarkand he had learned not to announce prey via howl, for it alerted not only comrades but also unwelcome, hungry outsiders. Letting the meat go to waste was a much better outcome than offering a free meal to some idiot coyotes or mountain lions. With a full belly, the dark Frostfur began his search for a quiet and private place to rest. Instead, however, his gaze found the form of a dark pack-mate. Viinturuth observed him quietly for a short time, before woofing to alert the other male to his presence and beginning his approach. RE: May Your Sorrows Have a Name - Luka Iva - January 12, 2014
RE: May Your Sorrows Have a Name - Viinturuth Snr - January 23, 2014 This is short, sorry! Viinturuth moved carefully through the snow, and was glad to see the other male veer his way and aid in closing the distance between them. He'd been far from Samarkand's deserts for several months now, but navigating through the snow was still proving to need further practice. Viin was sure-footed and graceful when walking on sand, but Winter's elements were a whole different story.
"I'm Viinturuth," he said, offering a friendly sweep of his tail as he eyed his raven-furred companion. Luka was roughly his size, but leaner, and of lesser rank. "I saw you pass through and thought I'd come introduce myself. There are still plenty of Neverwinter wolves I haven't met yet." He beamed then, glad to be adding another name to his growing list of pack-mates. RE: May Your Sorrows Have a Name - Luka Iva - February 13, 2014 Sorry for the long wait, hard time keeping classes and personal life balanced. Shouldn't be a problem anymore.
RE: May Your Sorrows Have a Name - Viinturuth Snr - October 11, 2014 Fading!
The sable male introduced himself as Luka, and Viin dipped his muzzle politely. "Likewise," Viin said in response to the comment that it was nice to meet him, and he meant it sincerely; having not come across many wolves from Neverwinter, it was a personal goal of his to attempt building bonds with each of his comrades. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything, by the way," the swarthy brute offered, somewhat apologetically, and when it became apparent that he had not intruded, he smiled warmly. "In that case, I don't suppose you'd like to accompany me in pursuit of a lone deer that passed through here recently? Might be a good idea to stock up the caches some more, to let the meat freeze until the Spring thaw." Waiting long enough to hear Luka's opinion, Viinturuth turned to lead the way in the direction of their prey, eager to resume the chase. |
