scapegoat - Tomahawk - April 07, 2015 Dotharan wolves, please! :)
Tomahawk's place beneath her lords was satisfactory. They told her what to do, and she did it. If she stepped out of line, she was quickly reprimanded in one way or another. This, she realized, was what she had been born for. Not to be one of them, but to serve them. It suddenly made sense why she had not fit in where here "mother" had raised her. Kaskara, while she'd had good intentions, had not gotten her as these wolves did. They truly understood her in a way that everybody else had failed to. Presently, she roamed nearby them, though she was careful not to get too far (or too close) to upset them. The 'yote knew that learning their language was imperative. Without it, she would be unable to truly talk to them as they did amongst themselves. She listened to their conversations, attempting to speak with their words where she could. "Khal" was the word she knew best, of course, for that was the name of her master. RE: scapegoat - Raezho - April 07, 2015 Raezho left his brother doing whatever he was doing alone, and set off to have a small adventure. Nothing too long, he wouldn't stay away for a couple of days, maybe just half a day or if things get interesting, a night. He bounded through the grassy lands, watching a rabbit flash by.Raezho tended to go for bigger prey, so catching rabbits might prove to a challenge. He would have chased after it, probably would have caught it too. But he was still too close, what if he made a fool of himself and let the rabbit escape? He continued prancing through the tall grass until his brother was out of sight. A bug crawled on a rotten twig in front of him. Raezho kneeled down to looked at it. A new type of bug! He observed it, wondering what it was called. While his brother looked up the warriors, Raezho quite liked the Asaveraks. There were so many new signs to learn here. Hopefully it would be too bad. As a gust of wind blew an unfamiliar scent towards him, he recognised coyote. He begin to bound towards the scent after smelling Rakharo on her. RE: scapegoat - Tomahawk - April 08, 2015 Somebody approached, and Tomahawk froze for a moment, unsure. Was this one of the Khal's recruits? A moment passed before she confirmed that, and a whine collected at the back of her throat. Tomahawk threw herself to the ground, white belly greeting the sky above her. She licked her lips, flattened her ears, and awaited her fate. Thus far, nobody had physically abused her, but she could hear in their voices that they were capable of such things. As she awaited the other's final few steps toward her, she wondered what would become of the next days, weeks, months, and years. This life, with the Khal, was everything she had not known she'd been missing. Each day was a new outlook on life. RE: scapegoat - Raezho - April 09, 2015 Hover over bold for tranlation
The coyote threw herself at the ground, rolled over and whined the moment he was close enough. A non existent eyebrow raised. Rakharo already had a slave. That was surprising. He looked back, Azzaro and the rest were out of sight, but they weren't too far either. Raezho glanced back at the slave, and decided that it wasn't a slave that came from the dothraki plains. Slaves there were normally plumper. ava'yorn, wux zklaen qe wer silit di rakharo. He inwardly winced. That seemed too blunt. Ugh, him and his useless choice of words. tira wux confn de wer dothraki plains? He canted his head. si mi raezho, deevdru di drakhavo. d'nag ekess tafiaf wux. He was probably being too nice, but he didn't like beating innocent creatures. If you're not going to abuse them, why not be nice to them? ini wer idol, wux nomag lleisgar. RE: scapegoat - Tomahawk - April 09, 2015 She's speaking Dotharan, because I'm too lazy to deal with translations.
She caught a few words here and there. Her master's name. "Slave." "Rise." These were words that Tomahawk heard frequently enough to pick up on. The latter was comforting, if only because it meant that she had pleased this one. "Thank you," she replied, her mouth (and brain) struggling to form the words in her thick, disjointed accent. She was not sure that she would ever be convincing with the language, but she would do her damnedest to try. "Name Tomahawk," she added, as if it was of some significance. Did he even care about her name? Did any of them? She did not know, but it felt right to introduce herself, even if it was in a broken language. "Speak bad," she said with a frown, "Learning." RE: scapegoat - Raezho - April 18, 2015 vfubvoubv lost my muse for a week
The coyote rose at his command. She thanked in in Dotharan, making his wonder if Rakharo bought a slave all the way from the plains. But as he studied her features, he didn't see the hard packed muscle that dotharan slaves normally have. In conclusion, he decided that his coyote was from these lands, but knew a little dotharan as her accent was as thick as his. She proceeded to tell him her name. Tomahawk? That was a rather weird name. Do all animals from these lands have such weird names? She then told him she was learning dotharan. He canted his head. There spoke other languages here? There must be, or else her accent wouldn't be so weird. svabol lyrik xanalre tir wux renthisj? si siofmea shio kaldakai renthisja dotharan. RE: scapegoat - Tomahawk - April 20, 2015 He spoke again, using longer sentences and words that she took longer to process. Tomahawk furrowed her brow, trying to turn the syllables into words. From words, she turned them into phrases. The phrases added up to sentences. Sometimes questions, sometimes merely statements. The whole comprehension part of it took her the better part of a minute as she mumbled repeated words under her breath. "Speak common tongue," she said with a nod, though after pausing, she followed up with a shake of her head. "Not can teach. Need more Dotharan." Hopefully, once she knew more of their language, she could translate between the two languages. As it currently was, she could barely hold a conversation. Taking orders was easy enough, even if she occasionally had to be reminded of what a word meant. Those were usually simple instructions, though. Nothing like the complexities of somebody with fluency in a language. RE: scapegoat - Raezho - April 28, 2015 The coyote furrowed up her brow and a look of concentration took over her face. She seemed confused. Muttering under her breath, she was almost weirding him out. Almost. Raezho had seen weirder things and weirder animals. The cycles of nature were weird too and Raezho loved studying them. Speaking of nature, there are weirder plants too. But everything in these lands were new. He had much more to study. Actually, he wondered as the coyote continued to mutter, he might end up being an Asaverak or a Koalak. The coyote stopped muttering, before answering in shaky reply in dotharan. The common toungue? He had heard a couple of other wolves that traveled through their plains spoke that, but it was rare. Was that the language they spoke in these lands? Maybe he could learn. But then his hopes were crushed as she said she couldn't teach him. He thoughts about it before perking up again. sjek si anku wux, shilta wux anku ve persvek return? RE: scapegoat - Tomahawk - April 30, 2015 "Yes," Tomahawk replied with a dip of her head. "Do not want make bothering." So long as she was under the command of the Dotharan, she would not hinder them if she could help it. Tomahawk wanted only to serve them, and anything else was secondary. However, if he wished this of her, she would do as told. She could expand her knowledge of their language, and he could expand his knowledge of the language that was most oft spoken in the Teekon Wilds. "How say..." Tom struggled to find the right words for what she was talking about, "You, me, different. How say this?" Of course, the two were different in plenty of ways. Hopefully she would learn at least a little something from him. Learning a language was tough business, that much she was beginning to understand. RE: scapegoat - Raezho - May 11, 2015 wyyobyoveubev my brain is full and this post sucks D: One more round?
She replied in her shaky dotharan accent, almost making him chuckle. But he smiled at her, knowing he would now be able to learn this new foreign language. He was always welcomed to learning new things. In this new unfamiliar land, many new things will have to be learned. Unlike his brother, whose fighting skills will be able to fight in everywhere. There were so much more new stuff to learn here. But he liked new stuff, so this was a perfect opportunity. She then proceeded to say that they were different, therefore making it hard to teach him. Another idea popped into his head. si tiliw anku wux persvek wer process! He grinned at her. batobot idol yth shilta letoclo kiq lyrik! He canted his head, waiting for his answer. He switched his glance to the ground, almost yipping as he discovered a new bug crawling on a leaf. RE: scapegoat - Tomahawk - May 17, 2015 Sounds good! Last post for me. Also, I enjoy writing in broken English, haha.
Tomahawk's lips contorted. She still wasn't sure if he was supposed to be helping her. Then again, in doing so, she would become more useful to them. Her intended purpose was to translate between the two languages, so perhaps this was a good use of her time. And his, for he would get something out of it as well. "You not need help me," she reminded him meekly. The coyote would continue to help him as much as she could, soaking up whatever information he had to give her in the process. And, when she was dismissed, she would scavenge for food for the pack. She wished only to please her new masters. |
