lost causes - Supernova - April 20, 2015

AW, but seeking @Scarlett or another leader. :)

Despite her intentions to move southward, to explore these wilds more fully, Nova had remained in the upper valley. She had heard it called Sunrise Valley, though she was unsure of the meaning behind it. Lately she had been existing on rats and rabbits and the occasional unsuspecting bird, and it showed. Her coat was groomed and in place as ever, but it no longer shone. It was dull with her lack of nutrition and proper rest. Nova hated it, but carefully groomed and placed each strand of hair daily.

She moved across the plains of the valley, wondering what she would find next. Soon the scent of a pack crowded into her mind, assaulting her nostrils and sensory glands. Yet another pack? That was three or four she had either seen herself or heard of. Would this be one of those, or yet another new pack for her to learn about? Nova kept following the trail, pausing a few yards from the heavily scented border, lemon yellow eyes turned up to study the area before her. It reminded her a little of home.

RE: lost causes - Scarlett - April 20, 2015

Backdated a bit because currently Scarlett is in heat, haha.

Scarlett trotted just outside Bearclaw Valley. She disliked leaving the valley lately. She felt at home in the lower level with one entrance. Scarlett was secretly loving the fact that it had one entrance because it meant that they had a better overview who was trespassing or not. It felt safe. If they needed an escape route they have several other exists of course. The only downside to this was that loners often couldn't find their pack either. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but Bearclaw Valley was slowly declining in members lately.

Scarlett went to the upper fields to check on their big prey. As a gamekeeper she often checked the hers if they needed to switch to another herd or if one was injured for the next hunt. The pale female with her red eyes didn't spot any of the herds she did spot a grey female. She stopped in her tracks and sniffled the air at first. She seemed to be alone. Slowly Scarlett trotted closer being as friendly as ever. A chuff sounded when she approached so she wouldn't startle the other. Scarlett was always open to meet new friends.

Supernova explored the area freely, sniffing and snuffling at the scents that crisscrossed the area. Scents of game, wolves, and something a bit more unfamiliar. Soon her musing was interrupted by a low chuff from her left, and Nova turned her piercing yellow eyes toward the woman. At first she thought it was just a normal wolf, but her eyes were red, the red of blood. Her nose, however, was black. She wasn't inflicted with the sickness she had seen elsewhere, and Nova thanked the gods for that.

"Hello," she said softly, dipping her muzzle toward the other. The woman had the bearing of a leader, but whether she was an alpha or beta, Nova couldn't immediately tell. It didn't help that they were on neutral territory and the other wasn't taking on a superior stance. "This place is teeming with life." She meant the entire wilds, not just this valley. But either interpretation would do. "I'm Nova. Do you live around here?"

Scarlett wagged her tail in a friendly greeting. She curiously studied the other female and then nodded as a reply before answering. "I do live here, you are close to our hidden doorstep actually,' she revealed. "If you look over that cliff there you can look into a valley that was call ours. Bearclaw Valley. I'm the alpha, Scarlett," She announced, her voice staying kind and friendly. Scarlett didn't like to press her status on someone. She rather wanted to have a pack of friends instead of subordinates only listening to her because she was the leader.

Her light body and red eyes turned toward the cliff and looked down on it. She then turned back to the female with a smile. "Are you looking for a home?," she wondered. There was no denying that they needed members. As full as they once were was now resized by half.
