Don't you dare look back - Saēna - May 04, 2015 @Kesuk Having left the plateau with plenty of time left to spare before returning to her pack, Saena decided to spend a while near the bank of the Whitefish River. When living just above it, her interest in the river was barely there, but now that she'd spent time away from it, she lamented not swimming in it or fishing in it or whiling away her days on its shore. It was a big, majestic, winding river that cut its way completely through the wilds, and salmon were abundant at certain times of year. It was damn near perfect as far as rivers went. She settled down on the damp shore and dipped her front paws into the rushing current, and that was when a glint of light from the nearby bushes caught her attention. Saena was loathe to move, so she stayed there for a little while longer before finally rising with curiosity gnawing at her. She splashed across the river, swimming well despite spending very little time swimming as a child, and after a quick shake, she padded to the bush and thrust her muzzle over it to peer beyond. What she saw was the glint of sunlight on impossibly smooth gemstones, set deep into the mouth of a cavern that yawned out of the undergrowth. Pricking her ears, the Redtail Alpha took a step forward, then another, and soon her entire torso disappeared into shadow. The stones ceased to glitter as soon as her figured blocked out the sunlight, leaving her upper body enveloped in a musty, dimly lit cavern while her bright hindquarters and docked red tail stuck out for any passerby to see. RE: Don't you dare look back - Kesuk - May 12, 2015 So far Kesuk and Koda's travels hadn't brought them much further then the river, the pair lingering along the banks, trying to figure out where to go from there. It was starting to make the outrider antsy. But since they would be here for a bit longer, she figured she may as well explore it a bit. Knowing Koda's view on her solo exploration missions, the chocolate female snuck out before he had even opened his eyes. She hoped he wouldn't be too mad with her, but even if he was, there was nothing he could do about it. Kesuk trotted along the bank for sometime before a familiar but distant scent caught her attention. Saena! It had been forever since she had seen her friend, she wondered where she had gotten to. The exiled female cautiously pursued the scent, in case Saene would be mad with her for leaving with Koda. Finally her friend came into view. Well, sort of. All Kesuk could see of her was her back legs and tail sticking out of a crevice in the rocks. "Saena? What are you doing in there?" She asked cautiously, slightly surprised. RE: Don't you dare look back - Saēna - May 24, 2015 The crevice was just large enough that, if she wanted, the petite Redtail could squeeze right in and explore its depths. Later, maybe. For now, she pressed her nose against the glittering wall and inhaled deeply, seeking a familiar scent of any kind, but only damp earth came back. In order to learn anything about it, Saena would need to go deeper. Just as she was stepping forward, though, a feminine voice called her name. She pulled back rapidly, smacking her snout against the rough gem-encrusted wall as she withdrew her head. Her turn was sudden, her hackles briefly rippling with discomfort, but when her eyes found Kesuk, she relaxed. "Oh, Kesuk, it's you," she said with a measure of relief in her voice. Despite her history with Koda, she considered his mate a friend. "What're you doing out here?" she asked, snaking her tongue out to lap up a drop of blood from her lip where she'd connected with the rock wall. RE: Don't you dare look back - Kesuk - May 31, 2015 She must not know. That made the chocolate furred female shift rather uncomfortably on her paws. She was glad that Saena wasn't trying to rip her throat out, though. "Well, long story short, Koda and I are no longer part of the plateau. So, here we are!" she said quickly, hoping to bypass the amount of awkwardness that would come if they lingered on the subject of Koda for too long. Kesuk sat down and shook some dust out of her fur, cocking her head at Saena, her gaze friendly but questioning at the same time. "What about you?" she asked curiously. RE: Don't you dare look back - Saēna - June 11, 2015 Kesuk wanted to move past the subject of Koda, but Saena, with her hatred so deep, wanted to linger. She ignored the question about what she was doing for now and instead fixed a scrutinizing eye on her friend's face. She knew that Koda was no longer part of the plateau from her talk with Dante, but that Kesuk had left with him shocked her completely. "Why are you even still with that guy? After how he's treated the women in the pack?" she wondered aloud. Kesuk seemed like an intelligent wolf and a strong female. It would take a moron to subject themselves to Koda's misogyny. It was a wonder the man had a mate at all, and even moreso that it was someone Saena thought was so unlikely to put up with his bullshit. "You could do a lot better than a sexist douchebag like him, Kesuk. You're strong and smart and he won't ever see you that way." Of course, Saena knew nothing about what Koda thought of Kesuk. She didn't believe he was capable of anything but his sexist judgment of others. He had not ceased goading her from the moment she stumbled in that hunt. She couldn't see how anyone like that could show an ounce of respect to anyone else... and, of course, he had gone after Dante. That would've been enough reason to toss him aside in her books, but she knew almost nothing of loyalty to love. |
