The Golden Sun - Rakharo - May 21, 2015 Rakharo is exploring to find a good place to settle the main camp.
It felt like home. He'd missed feeling the tall grass brushing past him as he ran on the open fields. He'd missed the thundering sound of the Bison's hooves, making the earth tremble. He'd missed the open sky and the sun with it's warm caress. And now he'd gotten all of that back, in a new land, free from all the blood of his family that his own father had spilled because of fear. This world was now free from that pathetic wolf who made himself called a Khal, he didn't deserve the honor, and in the new land Rakharo had been promised, he was free of those memories too. The first place where Rakharo had seen the plains was the Greatwater Lake, but now the Khalas had moved to explore the vastity of the terrain they now called home. Rakharo himself was being the one who led the herding for the first time in many moons, and everything now felt like it was supposed to. But something was still missing. Rakharo decided it was time for the Khalas to finally find a place to name their camp, a place they would always come back to tend their wounded, to birth their offspring, to guard like their palace, and so far no place seemed appropriate. The golden Khal, followed by the bright sun above him, retreated from the group to explore the verges of the mountains that would forever be their sentinels, hoping to find a stream that would lead him to a greener and peaceful place. As he walked on, the grass started to look greener, and the vegetation thicker. That was the way the first Khalas had found Kraza Dothar, and Rakharo would do it all over again, for his new Khalas. RE: The Golden Sun - Zoratto - May 22, 2015 I'm going to use this for Outrider. :L
Though he was loyal to Zhavvi, he loyalty to her father was even stronger, regardless if she realized it. The young man woke early in the morning, as per usual of him, and sought out Rakharo for another training session as a Dotharan warrior. Lucky for him that he woke early enough to see the man run off into the plains, and the boy ran to meet him. "Si mi confnir mrith wux." He said, barely panting as he slowed up beside his khal. He had a feeling on what the khal was searching for: a new Kraza Dothar for the khalas. It would be a cruel irony if they could not find a place for the khalas to have as a rendezvous site, after all that Rakharo and his family had gone through. RE: The Golden Sun - Rakharo - June 01, 2015 Rakharo knew that there was something odd going on with Zhavvi, his own daughter, and he knew that Zoratto was somehow involved with her sudden change of behavior. He was always following her around and carrying on her commands, just like a slave would do with a Khal, and he didn't like it a bit. It seemed to Rakharo that the young Rakh had fallen into Zhavvi's manipulative paws, but what the Khal didn't know was that Zoratto wasn't the only one. As he slowed down and was reached by Zoratto, the golden Khal's ears pricked up in full attention. They were exploring a new land for the Khalas, and the mission was to find a peacul place, a sanctuary for the Khalas to go and breed every year, to build up their claim to the Hoshor Plains. "Wux vucot svabol si mi vorqir ihk, Rakh?" the Khal asked with the intention of knowing how much the boy knew about the Dotharan culture, it was essential for the Khalas to have a gathering place like the one Rakharo was looking for, and he was a bit suspicious about how long had Zoratto spent on Rhaesh Dahaan to get to know how they work. RE: The Golden Sun - Zoratto - June 03, 2015 The boy stood by his Khal's side, eyes roaming across the landscape in search of anything; bison, other wolves, a place to call home, sanctuary. "Vi okarthel ihk wer khalas." He said, confidence in his tone. That was one of the most important things a khalas needed, besides flat plains and a herd of bison. With that, their claim on this land would be absolute, and they could finally be a true khalas. "Tepoha wux ehtaha tikil bensvelk spots sjerit? Si tepoha ti ocuirtor kiarf." That was mainly because he spent so much time guarding Zhavvi that he could hardly pursue his goal to become a Daheshak. But today, he was finally going to have the chance to see the territory fully, with his Khal, no less. RE: The Golden Sun - Rakharo - June 04, 2015 The Rakh's assumptions were correct, somehow, but it wasn't a surprise to Rakharo. It was only a matter of time until he, and his Khalas felt the need to settle down for a few months, just like it was done in Rhaesh Dahaan, and a place for that needed to be fitting enough for a pack of their kind. They needed space, a lot of it, but safety for possible litters was primary, and that means distance from the herds which could be dangerous during the breeding season. All of it needed to be carefully studied before finally selecting a place. "Ti vi okarthel... Nomeno tiamo thaczil ui hesi okarthel jaka," the golden khal barked gesturing to their vast surroundings with his muzzle. "Shar yth tir rigluin ekess ehtah vi goawy ihk wer tairais di uthwix." he explained, knowing that the Rakh probably aready knew what it was all about. Then, when Zoratto asked if there had been any advances, Rakharo looked at him with the same look he always had. "Ve noorot, shar si mi nadotir ekess wiilirk wer niarhaanin halkvri coi claxic udoka ekess vi throdenilt jusid goawy. Yth rigluin oium vur pab." he explained as he looked ahead at the copse of trees that gathered closer to the base of the mountains. RE: The Golden Sun - Zoratto - June 06, 2015 Zoratto's keen eyes looked at the land Rakharo gestured to. This was his khalas' land now, but he meant a home within a home. A place for the khalas to return to, where they would feel safe, where they would celebrate. His Khal reiterated his thoughts, however, so they both knew what they were looking for. "Vi goawy ini wer verthichai ornla qe d'nag." He said, looking towards the range that surrounded the Plains. "Tucked mojka persvek wer jonali somewhere, mrith gargh di pab vur sart nibel. Ideal ihk pups vur daskic." He wondered if there was a place like that was somewhere close to, or in the Plains at all. He could only wish, but a wish was nothing, he needed proof. RE: The Golden Sun - Rakharo - June 07, 2015 I'm using this as reference for the place I'm trying to describe, which I'm terrible at, it seems...
The grass they were stepping on quickly turned greener as they followed the stream upwards, towards the mountains. They hadn't gained much height since the departure, but the scenery was already different. Trees gathered close to the base of the mountain not so far away from their current position, and the terrain had started wrinkling into small hillocks. Zoratto was right about the assumptions he made. Rakharo was looking just for the things he'd mentioned, and so he agreed with a simple gesture of his head. Protection in higher grounds, constant flux of water and vegetation in which small game would be plentiful. That wasn't that much to ask. And soon enough they'd find something that met their requirements to the perfection. The river took a sudden turn to surround a boulder in the way, three wolves tall and many more wide with a flat top. Rakharo slowed down to appreciate the beauty of the landmark before continuing forward. They weren't too far away from the treeline now, and the Khal hoped that meant they were getting closer to the perfect place. "Visp ve, Zoratto..." The Khal said, breaking the silence, "Svadrav tir wux siofme wux geou qe krathin ekess tlush tawurair persvek dout ripeik kemir?" RE: The Golden Sun - Zoratto - June 14, 2015 As they followed the river, the landscape around them changed. The golden grass of the plains gave way to a greener variety. Different kinds of plants sprouted up from the ground, plants that Zoratto had not seen before. The land rose and fell, and trees reached for the sky, silhouetted by the mountains in the background. The young wolf was proud that his assumptions were correct, that the Rhoa had heeded to his prayer. He stopped himself from running ahead for now, instead waiting for Rakharo to give an order. The river bent, and parted to surround a tall and wide rocky island. He hadn't seen a rock structure like that before, which prompted the young male to observe it curiously. He wondered if it had any meaning or significance, but he was no crone. Perhaps Laqikki would know. His musing was disturbed by his khal, and he swiveled his head to meet his gaze. Si mi krathin jaka, Khal Rakharo. He was not yet a year old, but he knew he was ready for the chance to fight. He had to learn as soon as possible, if he wanted to protect his khalas. RE: The Golden Sun - Rakharo - June 16, 2015 "Athdavrazar," the Khal said with peaceful enthusiasm, "Yth geou tlush mrith dout kemir huena yth re ordaha". Rakharo expected that to be the day he found a good place for the mothers and pups to have peace during the months of need, and so far it seemed like they were on the right way. The creek opened way to a place where the trees were taller and more closer to eachother than the plains. The grass, although shorter and more alive with greener coloration, was still a rich golden shade, propper of the Hoshor Plains. The hills started cluttering as the path grew closer to the base of the rocky mountain, bordered by a thick treeline. Maybe this was the place, maybe they didn't need it to be more perfect than this. The creek was close enough to have a constant influx of water and the slopes, all of them conviniently facing the south, gave the perfect location to dig spacious dens that would one day see the birth of the new generation of Dotharan warriors. "Nomeno ui wer goawy..." the Khal said looking at his surroundings with pleasure. There, he left the creek to walk on into the place he was about to chose as his main settlement and the new Kraza Dothar. RE: The Golden Sun - Zoratto - June 17, 2015 He allowed a little smile to alit on his face. He was excited, both for his training and having a place for the Dotharan to come back to. And then they found it. It was green-gold, glittering hills with trees, tall and thick. He blinked in awe, his mouth agape. He would love living here. To run through this hilly land watching the pups of the pack grow, protecting them, teaching them how to hunt. He nodded in agreement. It was. He trotted over to the stream, lapping at the water. It was sweet. He had never tasted sweet water! His tail wagged slightly and he ran back to his Khal, following him into the pack's new home within a home. |
