No Time Left To Breathe - Kivi - June 08, 2015

Kivi trotted through the great golden sea of grass, stretching her muscles. She came to a stop and began to walk towards an incredibly small creek to take a drink. A calm breeze blew by making the grass dance in the winds. It was a lovey night with the stars reflecting off the creek water. Kivi sat allowing the breeze to shift her fur and help cool her off from her run.

Slowly Kivi brought her stumped tail around so that she was able to see it.  She had made the decision right then and there that she would use this tail as a form of strength.  It would simply be another battle scar to show off, instead of something that brought her down. The wolfess wondered how the Spine was doing recently.  She had not caused trouble for them for some time now, and would have to make sure to pay them a visit in the future.  After all, causing trouble for that pack was her favorite hobby.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Bear - June 09, 2015

Bear would find the coast. She was too far from it in these Flat lands. But these flat lands offered sustenance. More than she had partaken in for a long time. So she had idled for more time than she should have, scavenging and resting her weary paws. For the most part, she was left alone; all wolves knew better than to deal with a bear. Even a healthy pack five strong she had displaced.

The massive ursine wanted no trouble, however. Just to be left alone. So she drank from the creek the other wolf had, and wondered if there were fish here. She knew how to fish. But the large bear thought of the morning, and how she would prefer the fish of the sea, so when the morning came she would be on the move again.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Kivi - June 09, 2015

Kivi could see from a distance as the bear began to drink from the creek. She didn't like having a large predator so close the Bison and had every intention of making the grizzly leave. However she didn't want to die in the process, and would take a more kind route than she normally would. She stood and slowly approached bear, making sure she showed no sign of attacking.

"Umm hello" Kivi said or more like asked the grizzly. She had no idea if bears could speak, or if they were as smart as she heard they were. Not wanting to seem rude, she patiently waited to see if the bear would answer and if she didn't then it was on to step two.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Bear - June 09, 2015

Bear heard a woof. It was not like the woof of coyotes, easily killed with one cuff. Of course, wolves could be too if they got close enough. Her paw was more or less the size of the others narrow head. The hump on her was one large thing of muscle. If the wolf came too close, she would utilize that muscle and swat it away. It looked like it wished to communicate with her, and the animal turned to face it. It did not seem so aggressive as other wolves could become from the get go, but that did not put the sow at ease. Fifteen years of life had been hard-earned, and she knew better than to trust a wolf to be kind.

So she let out a bearish moan/groan. Some might hear: go away. Others might hear: I will eat your family. It was all up to the others interpretation of bear noises, but the animal took a step forward anyway, letting out another groan so the other would rethink her approach, which was too direct for the feral bears liking. Round ears flicked as she looked blankly at the other, but with a sense of awareness about her.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Kivi - June 09, 2015

Judging by the groan the bear gave, Kivi realized that she was going to have to do this the hatd way. She flattened her ears on her skull, let out a groan of her own. "Thank you for making my life ten times harder than what it already is you dumbass bear." Kivi had already come to the conclusion that this bear was not very intelligent.

Wanting to try the nice route again Kivi took a step closer, but lowered herself so that she didn't seem like she would attack. Kivi was sure that she was the least intimidating thing to this bear, but wouldn't take any chances acting like she was going to attack. She was simply trying to help the grizzly, because if the bear got any closer Kivi would howl for the pack and it could end badly for both parties.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Bear - June 09, 2015

The sow had no cubs to protect. No reason to stay other than the food the Plains had given her so far and would give to her again before leaving come morning. The bear did not know what the wolf was saying, only that it spoke. She did not communicate with the other species. There was never a reason to. She only needed to approach prey to ward the wolves that had hunted it away from the deceased thing. Most knew better.

Even with its peaceful approach, Bear was not so dumb. The other could have left her alone and they would both be done with it. As it stood, after its words it crawled closer. Bear had warned her. Bear had told the other to go away.

So this time, still facing the woman, Bear began her charge. The animal didn't want to attack, just wanted to chase the other away to leave her be.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Kivi - June 09, 2015

Horror spread across the fenale's face when the bear began to charge at her. Why did all living things seem to hate Kivi? On the inside the wolfess was whining about how much she hated everything on earth, but on the outside she had a face that said something like oh shit. Having little time to react Kivi took off sprinting away from the bear when she realized that this could actually work somehow.

She made a sharp turn and started heading away from the territory. If she was lucky the bear would follow her away from the Bison, if she was unlucky then it was back to square one. Kivi slowed down so that grizzly could keep up with her and it would hopefully keep chasing her. The wolfess just wanted this bear to be gone so she could do better things with her life.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Bear - June 09, 2015

When the other sprinted away, Bear stopped her charge. Thinking this would be sufficient, the animal moved back to the stream. Bear hated nothing or no one. She was glad wolves existed. They gave her food to eat. But sometimes, they could be a nuisance. So long as Kivi steered clear of her, the behemoth would let her alone, too. The coast her mind thought absently. Tomorrow, she would find the coast.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Kivi - June 09, 2015

Kivi was done with this game she was playing with the bear and realized that in order to get the threat gone she needed help. She lifted her head and howled for her fellow pack-mates of the bear. As an aspiring Fonakessi, Kivi believed it was her job to protect the Bison.

Having a feeling her fellow pack-mates would here soon, she wasted no time in attacking. The wolfess let out a snarl before charging at the grizzly. She aimed to snap at the heels of the bear and sprint away before she herself was harmed.  Kivi knew very well that a blow from the bear could be deadly, and she was not exactly in the mood to die today. She only hoped she avoided injury but only time would tell.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Rakharo - June 09, 2015

I guess that given the nature of this thread, and that now it is open for the whole pack to join this would count as a pack activity. I'm going to assume that you guys weren't too far away from the herd.

Being a tight knit pack, the Dotharan were always close enough when help was needed, and as the attentive Khal he was, Rakharo was the first to get the urgency in Kivi's message. He answered with a howl of his own deep voice telling his pack.mate that help was coming, and took off to aid his fellow warrior.

His paws carried his fast through the rattling grass until he distiinguished Kivi's figure attacking a huge Hlizif. There were a few of those in Rhaesh Dahaan, and if one thing Rakharo knew about them it was that they meant danger, both to any wolf and to a herd of bison. This one wouldn't get close to the latter.

With his own big body, Rakharo charged straight at the Bear's hind legs, snapping warning bite before retreating to take Kivi's flank. It was time to see what the female was made of.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Bear - June 09, 2015

I'm going to likely post out of turn for the sake of her attacks, so she can just get in five attacks and go, just because I want Bear threads to end quick! Edit to add @Rakharo in! Damage is a 1, so minimal damage inflicted in this post. 8 would would be something severe (but not necessarily fatal). Any attacks you guys want to dole out is cool so long as it's not fatal and in the nature of a bear/wolf fight. I have been watching too many YouTube videos.

Back again. The other snapped at her heels and she spun and dove to bite, but felt her clear miss. It mattered not. All that mattered was that the other back away and leave her alone. She had no tolerance for being harassed, and the slow but strong beast aspired to strike truer next time. It was then she felt another nip at her hind. Bear turned and swiped heavily, but blindly, not much caring for how she hit, only that she did, to ward the wolves away from her sharp claws and hefty weight. A loud roar sounded, this time of pure frustration. Leave me alone! the distressed call some might hear. You will die this day! Some others might translate.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Azzaro - June 12, 2015

The Dotharan were a strong pack, and they were close, readying to come to each other's aid should such a situation arise. Azzaro had been watching the Bison, like always when Kivi's howl rang through the air with such urgency that the day dreaming agouti wolf was such immediately out of his thoughts. The voice of their Khal was quick to reply, Azzaro threw his head back and echoed Rakharo's words before taking off towards the source of Kivi's howl.

The aspiring warrior ran fast despite his robust build, he was born and raised in the plains after all and speed was essential when living out in the open. It wasn't long before he spotted Kivi and Rakharo's figure and a large predator that was danger to most animals, whether they were prey or predator alike.

Approaching downwind so the bear couldn't smell him yet, Azzaro charged forward, attempting to sink a bite into the Bear's hind leg before jumping back quickly to his packmates side.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Bear - July 01, 2015

The animal downwind came for her, snapped at her, pinched her fur, and withdrew. Bear whipped around, cumbersome despite her massive build, well-practiced in this game. How many cubs had she killed a wolf for. How many meals had she stolen from a pack. In one swipe, the bear could break the back of a wolf. She whirled and struck, broad paw moving to give Azzaro a hearty cuffing. Nothing fatal, just a probe. Again a low groan-roar sounded. Leave me be.

RE: No Time Left To Breathe - Rakharo - July 03, 2015

@Kivi & @Azzaro we should continue this thread.
@Bear I'm sorry for leaving you like this, I was waiting for my turn :(
Posting order goes: Rakharo -> Kivi -> Azzaro -> Bear from now on so that we don't get confused.

Rakharo's attempt to snap at the bear was successful, but she dove in to take revenge. Rakharo wasn't as fast as he was strong, but he had been lucky enough to only get his back scratched superficially before jumping away to take Kivi's flank. There he threw a few warning growls and barks and hoped the bear would retreat before it came to a more serious deal.

When Azzaro came in to aid his pack, Rakharo called him with a sharp bark telling him to stand in a position that would corner the beast leaving no other escapinmg route than to go south, far from Vaes Aenai, far from the herds and far from the Khalas.

The beast's roars were bone-chilling, but Rakharo was brave. He would take any chance to snap at the bear's heels to rush her into running away.
