black eye - Raziel - June 15, 2015

Anyone going for the warden trade

Raziel's warden duties now not only included guarding the main entrance into the valley, but going up the path and marking the area around that too. With the pups coming, the Roman could never be too careful and he was going to keep marking this area even if his leader, Kove disagreed. There were no packs surrounding them, and they should be extra careful with borders. What he was doing was right, what he was doing was for the good of the pack. And on his watch, no one who was not of the Valley would know his land, their land. Not even an inch of it.

The greyscale Beta finished guarding duties and silently trotted up the path where he began reinforcing the markers he made some days ago. Scratching the bark of the trees he came across so the scent marks on his claws would help, kicking the grass, pissing on the ground.

While he didn't like patrolling, there was nothing else to be done. Their hunt had been a success and there was plenty meat left over, Kove was probably with Scarlett, he should be with Scarlett and Scarlett was basically immobile. He had also seen no one else around the Valley, this was the only productive thing he could do right now.

RE: black eye - Crëyr - June 16, 2015

crëyr treaded quietly around on bearclaw territory, her mind on the pups that were to come. scarlett's belly was getting bigger, and had reached the point when crëyr was sure that they were to come very, very soon. she was about to visit her, about to be there for her friend, when a familiar scent wafted into her nose.

she perked up. turning, the grayscale girl began to make her way up a path, cerulean eyes catching sight of the large grey figure in the distance. it had been a while since she'd seen him, but he struck her all the same. he was doing his duties, scratching and marking his scent onto various mediums.

now, she wasn't exactly sure if she wanted any lingering reminder of shadow around with her, but raziel clearly wasn't that. he was more than that. traces of shadow were almost all gone from her, and she sure was not going to let anything reinforce them when they were just still fading away.

she paused a good distance before raziel, curling her tail around her paws. she dipped her head, for she was sure that he was a leader. "raziel," she spoke as a way of greeting him.

Scowling, Raziel muttered curses and profanities under his breath as he savagely kicked some of the innocent grass that bordered Bearclaw Valley. Gods forbid...what if they banged right after they made up? The images that formed in his head was enough to nearly make him literally throw up onto the borders he had just reinforced. Not that it would be a bad thing, the scent of puke could serve as a scent marker too, probably ward off even more uninvited predators around.

Black leathery nostrils flared as he inhaled the familiar scent of....Creyr. Immediately, a billion, trillion questions raced across his mind, most of them regarding the health of his brother and of his children but he withheld the urge to speak for a moment. Allowing them to simply linger on his tongue as Raziel turned around, fierce teal eyes landing on the greyscale form of his friend. Or was she his friend?

"Creyr," he simply stated, striding over to her and reached out, hoping to touch her cheek affectionately with his nose. The Roman would refrain from asking the obvious questions for now.

"hello," she spoke, her voice clear and unwavering. she saw questions in his eyes, many, many questions. she guessed at a couple of the questions he was going to ask- of course she was not obliged to answer them. if he asked them, she would not answer.

the sterling girl smiled weakly as he touched her cheek with his nose. she nodded once at him, failing to return his affectionate gesture, and drew back to again sit. "it has been a while, raziel." in all honesty she was unsure of him, and there were some obvious reasons why.

She greeted him rather confidently and allowed him to touch her cheek affectionately with his nose, though Raziel noticed the weak smile on her lips, that was a change to what he was used to. He didn't care that she didn't return his gesture, but he was rather...concerned could be the word he was looking for, but once again, he refrained from blurting out questions, fearing he might scare her away. That wouldn't be good at all.

"A long while," Raziel studied her with gleaming green eyes, concealing his curiosity which probed and sought a way out of the barrier that kept it from being exposed. "How have you fared...before you arrived at Bearclaw Valley?" the Roman asked politely, reminding himself again and again that the questions could wait until he was sure she would like to be in his presence instead of merely pretending to be happy for the sake of politeness.
