Members on Wolf are encouraged to create adoptables for other members to play in order to build character relationships and further plots. Just keep in mind that once a character is adopted, it no longer belongs to you. As soon as the adoptive player makes a single post with the character, it cannot be reclaimed unless that member submits the request.
Any adult or puppy adoptable account needs to be submitted for approval by the member who will be playing them, not the member who created the account. There is one exception: if a puppy does not have a player at the time of birth, the account can be submitted by the parents and ranked as an NPC. See our NPC guidelines for more details.
Effective January 1, 2025, Wolf has no set breeding season. As long as characters meet the minimum age requirements (22+ months), they may breed freely. Keep in mind that players may be in short supply and plan accordingly! PMs are also welcome to enforce consequences against characters who breed without permission, such as removing them from the pack.
There are only a few OOC requirements:
After the conception thread has been archived, puppies may be posted for adoption within this thread. There is no formal process on Wolf, but the following are generally courtesies to keep in mind:
When you submit a puppy account for approval, be sure you have the parents clearly denoted somewhere on the profile. Include links to your puppy's conception and birth threads in the dedicated conception and birth profile fields. If a puppy's player has parental permission to start their own birth thread, we can expedite activation as long as you drop us a line beforehand.
Please note that puppies must be registered, activated and ranked to be considered part of the game, even if they do not have a player. Pups that are not officiated by 1 month of age may not exist in canon.

- Conception must occur in-game via a thread between the two biological parents. The thread should use the “Conception” post icon and be flagged as mature if necessary. It cannot contain explicit content but does need to clearly state that conception occurred to count; a fade-to-black is fine.
- Canine gestation averages 63 days. A birth thread must be posted between 49 and 77 days after conception to validate the litter. Threads cannot be back-dated or forward-dated outside this window. The thread must be marked with the Birth icon.
- Gestational wolves can only have 1 litter per calendar year and each litter may only contain 4 surviving pups. It is recommended to space out litters by at least 6 months.
Puppy Adoption Guidelines
